Akane on the other hand...I'm liking fire at the moment, but like wind too (I just like wind in general though...>>; ) and will probably try just about everything eventually.

Of course I don't mind; also enhanced ver = w= Also Circ is right guys, don't limit yourself, that's the best thing about AH, you can pick any character you want and still be rather unpredictable thanks to your Arcana. OK guys and gals, for lack of other places to post these, here are some gameplay videos of a 21-man single elimination tournament that I recorded and commentated on at my local meetup, all uploaded onto my Youtube.com channel. Some of the language definitely gets a bit colourful and may not be safe for work (NSFW)... It's in the form of a Youtube.com playlist, with 14 match videos + 1 troll Eko mirror money match... Also, GGs to everyone is Chaos_Kalibur's room last night. I noticed my internet randomly dropping, and my house was hella cold yesterday with no heater + coldsnap.

Narcowski Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 Ice Fiona is amazing - she gets so many things to help her: - Ground mobility - An actual reversal - Kara-dash into XH (6632146A+B) <- Especially good in EF, since then it can't be jumped on reaction - A decent okizeme projectile (snowflake, especially in EF) - Fullscreen "no homing at me" move (snowflake super) I'm torn between playing her, sticking with Time Clarice, or switching to a zoner like I play in most games (Maori or Catherine). Time Clarice is just so technical in comparison to most characters - I'm pretty sure the optimized time BnB I created involves a 1 frame link to not drop the combo after the relaunch assuming every other move in the string is canceled on the first possible frame. Fiona's Sacred series doesn't really give me trouble; I got her XH the first time I tried it out.

This shit is outright ridiculous with Akane; I fought an Akane with time a few days ago and broke my second stick stand at the end of the fight. Than again, I don't know the Akane match-up that well so that doesn't help either... :vbang" Time Akane can set up some nasty oki with the Time super and Time's projectilve move + her teleports. Depending on how the opponent reacts you can obtain unblockable setups as well. Also, Time super let her charge kotodama for free which is really good since Time is an arcana that heavily relies on meter usage. Tone Akane is good mostly for the damage you can get. Plant Akane is good for being able to deal good damage without spending any meter at all (Vine is GDLK) and for pressure/spacing, and doesn't rely at all on EFC combos. Fire Akane is good for abare, she can pick up into good damage off aerial hitconfirms, though it is not "easy" as it looks to be in videos. Still, if you often land air vs air j.B/j.A and are too distant from the ground to be able to land and do 5B, that's where Fire's 236E comes in and make her abare really scary. So yeah, she is a character that can do well with almost any arcana, with her it's not about covering her weaknesses but more like getting the kind of buff that suits one's personal way to play a character (like having strong oki, or easier neutral approach, or damage, or better abare, whatever).
