NeoZero Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9480925 Good Rachel Lol Hazama Another rachel player to add to my list of ppl to watch
kro_ Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm9512743 This is probably the best Rachel I've seen so far, especially since he's actually playing against someone who's... well, you know... good. Pay attention to how he sets up and uses 5cc wallbounce in particular.

Tari Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm9512743 This is probably the best Rachel I've seen so far, especially since he's actually playing against someone who's... well, you know... good. I've been wondering if there was an easy way to combo into 5cc wallbounce from 6a, but I guess you need to use wind. I know one of the characters can get combo'd straight into the second hit of 5cc off a 6a CH, but it's only because of her weird hitbox. Don't even recall if it was Lamda, Noel, or Tao at this point.
XvKissBlade Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 http://d.hatena.ne.jp/video/niconico/sm9512743 This is probably the best Rachel I've seen so far, especially since he's actually playing against someone who's... well, you know... good. Pay attention to how he sets up and uses 5cc wallbounce in particular. Pay attention to how he has to completely outplay his opponent to even scrape by a win. =\ Ugh, I can't even imagine being able to execute those setups under pressure.
kro_ Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 So far I know you can do 5cc during these situations: -After 3c frog otg -Dash up 5cc after 5cdc 236b -Backthrow in the corner -Catching the opponent after BBL
Gog_ Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Anyone know why Matsu chooses to wind back during a block string with a frog out instead of just 2C?(mostly noticed this in Ten vs Matsu) I've played against Tsubaki before and I know you can 2C through a lot of her block strings and in Ten vs Matsu part 2 he decides to wind back a frog in the 2nd round and in the 3rd round gets a 2C CH followed by a 3k combo on the same block string Ten used before.
God_Of_Olympus Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 2C regardless is still very high risk and winding george back would keep him safe and use him defensively, also you say he got a 2C on the same block string later....my guess is he predicted it, anywho 2C didnt exactly become better, Rachel became worse, lets all let that marinate
Rhannmah Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Anyone know why Matsu chooses to wind back during a block string with a frog out instead of just 2C?(mostly noticed this in Ten vs Matsu) I've played against Tsubaki before and I know you can 2C through a lot of her block strings and in Ten vs Matsu part 2 he decides to wind back a frog in the 2nd round and in the 3rd round gets a 2C CH followed by a 3k combo on the same block string Ten used before. Thing is, if you use 2C too much, your opponent, if he is clever (always assume your opponent is clever), will start baiting it(by stopping his blockstrings to just block, for example), and then you'll be completely free for a counter-hit. That's why everybody says it's a high-risk maneuver. Same thing with Hakumen's D counters.
Kuuhaku Posted January 28, 2010 Posted January 28, 2010 Matsu keeps impressing me (and I keep trying to steal his combos ). I don't know on CH, but normally 6A does combo into 5C (CT anyway, not sure if it's still in CS because of 6A's recovery)... just the second 5C whiffs. I think you can add wind to make the second one hit, but I have to mess with the timing more. Rhannmah- Unless you feel like super mind games with 2C RC 2C RC 2C. Probably not a good idea, but it's hilarious for lulz. Yeah... to win as Rachel you have to 100% outplay your opponent in pretty much any match up. It's a little sad because in situations where you're up against someone equal in skill, no matter how hard you work you're probably going to lose. Could be worse. They could of kept that nonsense in the first loketest where George had a giant spotlight and shut off when Rachel started attacking. Oh, and given her just one wind bar instead of four. Though... back to wuku's comment. Doing a random level 3 j2C and having it hit is lulz, since level 3 j2C can combo off of George... does anyone know how much damage George knocks off?

Doing a random level 3 j2C and having it hit is lulz, since level 3 j2C can combo off of George... does anyone know how much damage George knocks off? Some damage values... George: 548 dmg George + lvl 3 j.2c: 1848 dmg 5cdc + George + lvl 3 j.2c: 2144 dmg (2565 if starting with 5b) 5b 5cdc 214a 2b 5b HJ8D j.2dc (lvl 3) BBL HJ8D j.2c (lvl 3) BBL 214a 236a 3c 214c - ~4000 dmg (totally not worth it; costs 4 wind) 5b 5cdc 214a 2b 5b HJ8D j.2dc (lvl 3) BBL - 3139 dmg (this doesn't include damage from catching them with 3c into lightning into 6c j.c) 5b 5cdc 214a 2b 5b HJ8d j.2dc (lvl 3) 6c8d j.c j.c j.236a - ~3300-3400 dmg - (better than a single BBL, but you can't combo afterwards; also costs 4 wind) - can probably get a little more damage out of it by doing 236a (x2?) after the level 3 j.2c and catching the opponent in 3c214c. Also might be able to save a wind that way, as well as spend a little more time on the ground for wind recovery.
Kuuhaku Posted January 29, 2010 Posted January 29, 2010 5cdc + George + lvl 3 j.2c: 2144 dmg (2565 if starting with 5b) This seems not bad. Especially if with the right setup it can lead into 9k damage.
kro_ Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 In case no one's noticed, there is a Rachel combo vid up now. Some major points of interest for upping her damage: 1) lvl 3 j.2c using only 1 wind after BBL 2) lots of 63214d6c 3) double lobelia into 3c sword iris every chance he gets 4) lots of 6c http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jvF-4Va8CI I'll get to work on transcribing the combos. If you guys are satisfied with how it turns out, then let's get it up on the first post.
GenoWhirl Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I love the 5b 5cdc 214a 3c (1 hit) 236a X2 6c j.c 4d BBL stuff
soujiro seta Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 You rachel mains are really pissing me off. I put that vid up for you guys and NOW is when you want to start talking about it. I was so happy to find something that shows rachel's potential, rushingly tossing away all my day's appointments and skipping the drive to see my dieing friend in the hospital, I came on here to share the new discovery and hear what you guys have to say, and NOW, so many hours later, is when you want to start talking about it . I waited all day to come on here and see my favorite lollies happy again. AND NOW IS WHEN YOU WANT TO START TALKING ABOUT IT!!!!!
Tari Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Haha, soujiro, thanks for the link, in any case. @kro: Yeah, those combos look pretty nice. Transcript would be awesome. :P /lazy~
Kuuhaku Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 I actually think it's kind of interesting that this was put up by a Chinese player. I didn't even know China had a Blazblue scene. I see a lot of nice setups though, and level 3 j2C only needing one wind is a very nice discovery. EDIT: Ah. I got it now. 1 wind level 3 j2C can be performed after BBL. But in normal combos it still needs 2 wind. It's probably because BBL has enough hitstun where Rachel doesn't need to use a second wind to speed up how fast she comes down. I can do maths.
Shugotenshi Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 C-C-C-Combo Video!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jvF-4Va8CI
NeoZero Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 C-C-C-Combo Video!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jvF-4Va8CI Are my eyes deceiving me or is that a 4k combo i am seeing @ 1:45
Tari Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 There are a bunch of 4k combos floating around for her, now. All of them involve 50 meter (but, notably, don't require 3 poles). :P A few 5k combos off 50 meter, as well, which is awesome.
GenoWhirl Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 *kisses ground* God fucking dammit I missed my PC <3 Now to post the obligatories Matsu(RA) VS Dennou(JI) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0TxlR_MF5Cc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3jIkLmiNr0U Ten(TSU) VS Matsu(RA) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duNxEd-Xd7M http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hT2HektJrd4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BzfKViNE4g Matsu(RA) VS Keita(TO) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G6na1VeW_0Q http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AskoUKR0h8Q Glad to see he's back from the Tager-trolling-induced Retirement
Alzarath Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 C-C-C-Combo Video!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5jvF-4Va8CI nice nice. I figured there was more to her still. Well, time to start training again.
crazycrackers Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 This whole business with using only one wind for lvl 3 j.2c is sort of a pain. I always used 2 winds for lvl 3 j.2c (in frog combos), never really tried the whole one wind thing (after BBL). Fairly difficult imo, but very cool

Changes depending on how high you placed your opponent for the BBL, too. But yeah, very useful stuff, if I could just do it consistently. xD
