Kuuhaku Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 Wait, who says Tager is still bad? He still has a lot of the same problems he did in CT and his damage prorates more. Last time I checked he was considered low to mid-low. He's still much better than he was in CT though. Tari- Isn't that missing a 5B? I'm pretty sure 2B doesn't link to 5CDC because I always drop combos that way.

Tari Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Yeah, it was missing the 5b. Fix'd. I blame the fact that I hadn't slept yet when I made that post. :P
Kuuhaku Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Still, that's not bad for one wind and no meter. Good job. We should mess around in training mode when no one else is at Digipen. ... That's if a certain hakumen player doesn't feel like destroying us all for fun.
Tari Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 The real problem with all of Rachel's combos, at the moment, is that they're hard to start on moves that don't prorate like crap. 2b isn't exactly a great starter, unfortunately. Expect to lose a few hundred damage in that combo starting on 2b instead of 4b, as 2b has more proration and less damage. :/
Rhannmah Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 BnB: 4b/2b 5b 5cdc 236b dash 6a214c j.b j.c JC j.b j.c j.236a (~2.7k dmg) Is there a way to modify the combo ender to end up with a knockdown for more pressure instead of an easily escaped air combo?

Tari Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Is there a way to modify the combo ender to end up with a knockdown for more pressure instead of an easily escaped air combo? ...j.b j.c JC j.2c - good luck doing anything after j.2c without a pumpkin or frog nearby ...j.b j.c JB j.b j.c j.214b - pumpkin to catch the air-tech. not quite what you want, though. ...jb j.c JC 2d j.2c (level 3) - they won't hit the ground before teching, though, iirc. still gives you time to summon a frog or pumpkin Or you could sacrifice a bunch of damage to do 5cc after 214c, but you might as well have just gone for a frog combo, in that case. You'd be doing around 2k instead of 2.7k when starting from 2b. It's actually more beneficial to start with 2a into 2b, if I'm reading Spark's proration data correctly. :8/: Feel free to check my math (and my logic, as I might be misunderstanding the chart): 4b 5b 5cdc 236b... - 2714 dmg Strip off 4b for... 5b 5cdc 236b... - (2714 - 600) / 0.9 = 2348 dmg Tack on 2b for... 2b 5b 5cdc 236b... - (2348 * 0.7) + 360 = 2003 dmg Alternatively, tack on 2a 2b for... 2a 2b 5b 5cdc 236b... - (((2348 * 0.84) + 360) * 0.85) + 150 = 2132 dmg Of course, it could've always been that way, and I just didn't realize.
MisterBadguy Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Assuming 2a is still a mid, I don't see how that'd really be benificial at all. It IS, however, quite hilarious.
killionaire Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I think I'll just stick with the chair until the next installment. I mean.. After all, it is impolite to attack someone who is just sitting there. Especially if the chair is electrified.
Tari Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 Assuming 2a is still a mid, I don't see how that'd really be benificial at all. It IS, however, quite hilarious. Probably should've said 'damaging' rather than 'beneficial,' huh. It's just a bit interesting, since you will occasionally have the option of starting a combo from 2a (countering a slow move, backdashing, etc.). Not useful as a mixup option, though, outside of 5a/2a spam. @K2: Ah, yeah.
GenoWhirl Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 it'd be quite nice if we could gather the vids and put them in the first post >_<
Rhannmah Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 i thought here is for rachel video posting we'd have something to post here IF there were actually still people playing her seriously in the land of the rising sun
Kuuhaku Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 Poor Matsu. He works so hard only to get trolled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7i0gRdhLPk Not sure how old this is. But watch it with cat chair. Carl can bait it with Vivace + Nirvana smacking you.
GenoWhirl Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheWoobie This is Matsu
XvKissBlade Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 Poor Matsu. He works so hard only to get trolled. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-7i0gRdhLPk Not sure how old this is. But watch it with cat chair. Carl can bait it with Vivace + Nirvana smacking you. That really doesn't look like Matsu playing since he seemed to drop a lot more combos than Matsu normally would've. Most of the matches I see with Matsu looks very technical.
Rhannmah Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 it's not. The player's name is Erushi or something to that effect, if you listen, the commentator says the names at the beginning of the match
Tari Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 It's Erushii, I believe. Another video of him. He pumpkin summons and spams C lobelia to stay offscreen to win his Arakune match. I don't recognize the Carl player. Sounds sorta like 'Ikena' or something, but that doesn't appear to be a well-known name, so I may be hearing wrong.
GenoWhirl Posted January 15, 2010 Posted January 15, 2010 While that video is extremely old, I cried I mean wasn't that Souji ...And then she get' raped by Carl
Gog_ Posted January 17, 2010 Posted January 17, 2010 Rachel(Erushii) vs Tagers, http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9407556 Rachel( Erushii) vs Noel and Bang, http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9408104 Omitan Rachels aren't worth watching.
Soniti Posted January 17, 2010 Author Posted January 17, 2010 IMO the 2nd Omitan video is worth watching for 1 reason: Hilarious commentary!!! (if you understand Japanese): Rachel vs Litchi, Rachel vs Bang: http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm9407415 / http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wACthQO0fFI
