of course 6D because it leads to jin's corner loop combo, did you even read the previous posts before this...

I already said without meter, obviously I would do corner combo if I could 623D, but nevertheless I think I asked a dumb question...

you'll get the meter that you needed eventually by starting that combo by doing 6C-6D-6B-DP B-6C-6D you'll get 25% heat guaranteeed

in the corner you can still catch them with 5C...

but anywhere else on the screen you need to do a small dash and then 5B, 5C-> air combo

and you need to do it just after the DP C animation finished.

it's hard to do teh dash after the 623C, but keep practicing. if you're lazy, you can do 623A after a counter hit 623C, even though it gives you less damage + worse positioning. So if you're desperate to do something after CH 623C for now, do 623A, but you best learn the real combo or you'll be worse off in the long term.

actually it's not too hard to do the dash IMO. it's the same dash you do after jB counter hit and then dash, 5B, 5C, sekkajin bla bla... and it's also the same dash people use for normal poking at medium range... because 5B is jin's best poke in the whole game.. The harder thing to do is I think to know when DP C ends and dash right away, so instead of the dash the timing is harder IMO

yes that's what i meant by "dash after the 623C". you need to time the 66 right after 623C ends, otherwise the 5B will miss. However, running 5B might throw people off at first too... need to remember to move the stick back to 5 (or even 4) so you don't get a 6B on accident.

hmm, what I do is just I let go of the stick.... moving it back to 5 taking too long... It is the same movement for dash cancelling and I've been okay so far...

Isn't that the same thing he said?

It's because your sprite is off the screen that the timing of the dash has been difficult for me. I usually watch my sprite for timing a move after a previous one has finished. I can't really see myself when his ass is all the way up there. Another way to end it is to do ice arrow super. If you got spare 50 meter and your opponent is almost down, this is a surefire way to end the match.

One thing that I am not sure... for 2A oki can we do the 2A oki > 5C > air combo??? or do we have to do 2A>5C>6C>(dc)> air combo??? and for the air combo can we catch them with both jB/jC????

One weird thing.... about jin's astral.... I experienced this... couple times actually.... when I was just about to do astral and I didn't do it out of the throw but rather when they jump I timed when they land, but if they throw projectile either from the air or just when they land.... eventhough my astral connects..., the projectile could still hits me.... WTH is that... is it a bug?? I experienced it at least 2x... one time with tager land and then immediately throw the shockwave magnet.... and another one with Bang throwing the projectile very close to the ground... The animation of the astral already started but then suddenly the projectile hits me and my respective enemy broke free from the ice just like that... is this a bug? or is it already like this since CT?

were you in the animation or were you about to enter? (was the enemy frozen or had the mist not hit them)

part of what makes astrals awesome but impractical is they have no IF's (I don't think) so you can't try, say, black onslaught to counter an attack, Jin's vunerable in his astral just like everyone else. that's why you throw into it.

Yes you can link 2A oki > 5C > air combo starting with jB to jC

I tried on Ragna today, could someone confirm for other characters?

Edit: It was Boss Ragna in Arcade mode, if that makes any difference.

you mean you fought arcade Ragna (he's unl right?) ? that 25000 health moster who can chew out your life faster than you can blink? or is he different than UNL Ragna as not to make the player slit his wrists

Jin can be hit out of the Astral in CT too. Tested with Bang. Like smoosh said, it has no invincibility frames. So a character with an attack that doesn't disappear or stop if the character gets hit (like Bang's nails) can knock Jin out of the astral, even if they're already frozen in it.

Posted

actually my question is either to start with jB or jC for the air combo after the oki, but it seems to be jB then?? would jC connects too? ok, so I will stop doing random astral then lul.... it's still weird that it has no invisible frames though, and yea I got knocked out even after the animation starts i.e. they are already frozen . and boss ragna is so easy to bait/FT... just be on the defensive most of the time, poke with 5C and it will get you a counter hit most of the time. try to dragon punch a lot too since the CPU will just poke with normal attack. put them in the corner and you are good to go after that.

He had a lot of health, but he didn't seem to do as much damage, unlike CT. I remember getting hit by his Carnage Scissors and it only did about a 1/3 of my health (pretty sure it was more back in CT) Unfortunately I was challenged by a Taokaka before I could defeat him.

On Topic: Since there's no CS Jin vs Taokaka thread yet, anyone have any idea how to approach Tao? She always seems to out-range me, both on ground and in air. It could just be because of my bad spacing skills, but her air claw attack (jC?) outranged my jC a lot, as well as my 5C. What should I do when I'm knocked down? And that stupid crawl....

yeah but mess up once and he eats your a large fraction of your life and regains alot of his and god forbid you try to to hit him and you eat IF's from devoured by darkness. but I digress. I'm terrible at defense. but I don't think I've seen JB in the air combo that much, was it dropped for the JC's? though it could be there and I haven't noticed

Whenever I do Jin's air combo, I usually super jump > jB. I get worried that I might miss jC because of its horrid vertical range. I'm not sure if doing jC is better for damage though. If I didn't freeze the opponent before entering the air combo, I usually normal jump > jC > j2C > dj > j2C > jD.

delayed neutral tech is your best bet in the corner.. try to roll or do quick get up anywhere else on the screen... I never play a really good tao player, but from what I see try to get 5C without moving so when they try to poke you just stand still and do 5C or 5B depending on the range. if they like to fly around, just do dragon punch, either DP A or DP C is your best friend. DP D works better if you have meter too. if you can read their movements do either 2C or 6C since it will lead to jin's high damage combo. and 2C and 6C are both air unblockable, with so if they are air dashing they have no choice but to eat it.

do 66 (2B) if they crawl.. use jC quite a bit too, it's actually one of the best air poke just 2nd to hakumen. and I thought I posted my staple air combo already... now everyone starts using it even the japanese top player lul... do jB>jC>j2c>(jc)>jC>JD> ice ride or reset if they are already frozen most of the time jC will connects, but if not you can do either jC/JB>j2C>(jC)>j2C> B/C/D ice ride depending on the combo and how many hits have you done.

the problem I get with Tao is the whole cross up thing she does, I try DP all of the sudden I have to switch direction, sometimes Ice car comes out making me feel stupid.

Posted

Although DP seems to be the right way to go against Tao, its reduced range in CS causes some problems when Tao is doing her drive attacks (or crawling towards you). Today, I never actually hit Tao with DP outside of combos. Also, Tao has way too many cross-ups and oki options. On wake-up, she can either crawl, do her Bang overhead flip kick (to make Jin's 2A useless), or go behind you with her drive. I'm guessing Jin could run in and 2A spam, or just jump around hoping jC scores a hit, which was basically what I was doing the entire match. I hate Tao.
