KM Riku Posted December 1, 2010 Posted December 1, 2010 (edited) I don't think so, I think there's only some short videos showing the taunt->236C->236C->6C->6C route...even though I prefer doing 236A->j.4D~6 or 236A->JC->j.5D~6. Xdest posted a list of the possible AB2 enders and what ender is better for each character: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?8071-CS-Edition-Taokaka-Combo-and-BnB-Thread&p=753722&viewfull=1#post753722 *Notes: -The j.D, (taunt->236C->236A->)j.2D route and j.4D are the most universal ones. -Unless you are doing the Cat3 route, you usually have to keep your opponent at low height or delay the 236A (with the exception of Hazama and Carl, maybe Tsubaki) -Make sure you are not doing any extra hits after the second Cat2 5th hit. Just jump->Cat2 when you feel the hitstop of the 5th hit. (you can do j.2369B in the last Cat2 if you want) -In the j.D route, you usually have to delay the j.D a little after the jump. Also it's easier to do ->j.D~6->Cat2->8JC->Cat2->7JC->Cat2 (7JC->Cat2->8JC or 8JC->Cat2->8JC also works, I just think the other way easier...but the 7JC->Cat2->8JC is easier for the other enders though) -Even though it's possible, don't really try to AB2 combo against Hazama unless you are doing the anything->3C->AB2 in coner -I'm not sure if I'm the only person with this problem, but none of the AB2 enders are working right against Valkenhayn (damn long legs). Makoto has a pretty weird hitbox, but you can do it against her without problems using the j.4D or j.D route. Edited December 2, 2010 by KM Riku
Lord Knight Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 STILL couldn't do that shit without finding a video, but now I pretty much got it, thanks a lot.
C0R Posted December 2, 2010 Posted December 2, 2010 but none of the AB2 enders are working right against Valkenhayn (damn long legs) Valk has very odd properties when falling, either he actually falls faster, or the vertical hitbox during kickback is very short. Many characters have links that specifically don't work on him alone.
KM Riku Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQcsY6Jk33c&feature=sub Interesting AB2 ender...but it's sad that we won't be able to do them anymore.
RinHara5aki Posted December 20, 2010 Posted December 20, 2010 In preparation for the new loop (j8D~a), I need to be reminded of some CS1 j.8d~a combo's to get myself used to it. Yes, I KNOW the timing will be different becuase recovery off of A cancels are faster, and yes I know it'll probably be removed later (If they do an update through NESiCA).

Did you try to read the Tao CS2 general theard? http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10690-Taokaka-Continuum-Shift-II-Changes-General-Thread&p=882405&viewfull=1#post882405 http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?10690-Taokaka-Continuum-Shift-II-Changes-General-Thread&p=882364&viewfull=1#post882364 Basically, try anything that you can jump cancel->j.8D~A later (6A 2hits or 5C) Edited December 20, 2010 by KM Riku
Mystic d Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 I know that this could go in the Combo/BnB thread, but I feel like it needs it's own thread. So I'm working on the AB2 enders and I need some help. I'm trying the following combos: Midscreen: 5C -> 3C -> AB2 -> 6C -> JC -> 5D~6 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC8 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC8 ->j.236BBBBB. Corner: TL (max) -> AB2 -> T -> 236C -> 236A -> JC -> 5D~6 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC7 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC8 ->j.236BBBBB. TL (max) -> AB2 -> 236A -> 4D~6 -> 5D~6 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC7 -> j.236BBBBB -> JC8 ->j.236BBBBB. I'm having problems with the timing and I think I'm getting in some extra hits sometimes. The first j.236BBBBB is connecting multiple hits sometimes and I believe thats the reason it blue beats. How can I get it so only the last hit connects? Any suggestions?
KM Riku Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 Sorry, but a single problem that YOU have doesn't really need a theard only for it. However, I'll answer before XDest closes the theard. The midscreen AB2 combo that you posted doesn't work at all and it's pretty character specific, I wouldn't recommend to try AB2 enders midscreen...even though they are possible you shouldn't risk at all. The both coner AB2 are listed wrong, they should be like: TL (max)->AB2->Taunt->236C->236A->JC->2D~6->Cat2->7JC->Cat2->8JC->Cat2 TL (max)->AB2->236C->4D~6->Cat2->7JC->Cat2->8JC->Cat2 I made this post in the combo theard giving some notes and tips about the AB2 ender. Next time, don't do a new theard just for it.
Mystic d Posted January 9, 2011 Posted January 9, 2011 First off, I made this thread considering the fact that AB2 enders are still going to be a part of CS2 Tao's gameplay. Yes, I am working on it right now and asking for help, but I created this thread with the overall intention to turn it into a help thread for AB2. Unfortunately, I can't really help people with learning AB2 if I can't do it myself, but no offense taken. I was planning to edit the first post after I confirmed all the information and made it so the information would be easier to find instead of digging through pages of the Combo/BnB thread. However, if XDest wants to close the thread, then so be it. In response to your post, the first two AB2 enders I got from this video of Tsujikawa: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=geoCyqPojHM The last AB2 ender I got straight from the first post of the Combo/BnB thread. Your post and XDest's post are both very helpful though and I'll use those as a reference. Thanks for the help.
KM Riku Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 In the first post you didn't make clear that this topic would be a information topic about AB2 combos, it looked more like a help request. Anyway, in CS2 we pretty much can only do a AB2 after a 3C in coner and the combo is even more easier now...there's not need for a topic only for it, the future CS2 combo theard will do the job. The last AB2 ender you posted is still wrong, it's not even like that in the combo theard. About the midscreen one, the problem is that it's too character specific and situational...I don't recomment to risk doing it. About the first coner combo...yeah my mistake there, sorry.
CakeWasBannedd Posted January 10, 2011 Posted January 10, 2011 the tao forum is so dead we don't really need a thread for this topic, people can just ask in an existing thread imo
Mystic d Posted January 11, 2011 Posted January 11, 2011 Fair enough. XDest, please close the thread.
Ronove Posted January 12, 2011 Posted January 12, 2011 I don't mind this thread, some people may be specifically looking for AB2 infos, it's not bad to have a separate thread for this. It's not like the Tao forum is crowded with threads anyway.
XDest Posted January 13, 2011 Author Posted January 13, 2011 Don't really believe in deleting information. The AB2 thread has been merged into the combo thread.
dtruth Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I decided to pick back up Tao since I stopped playing her since CT. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for these AB2 corner combos? It is either they fly over my head after the first or second 6C or that I just can't 7 Cat2(?) fast enough or whatever timing I need to do.
Spring_Raid Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 I have a question in regard to one of her BnB taunt setups. How do I get the timing for 6A > j.C > j.2D ~B? I always end up whiffing the j.2D after j.C. Any help you guys could give would be appreciated.
Mystic d Posted April 12, 2011 Posted April 12, 2011 It's not a j.C after the 6A. It's a JC or Jump Cancel after the first hit of 6A. So it's 6A -> Jump Cancel (after first hit) -> j.2D~B -> Taunt Loop... Also, it's probably not worth it to learn the taunt loop now because CS2 is already out for portable and hopefully will be out sometime in the near future for console.
Spring_Raid Posted April 13, 2011 Posted April 13, 2011 Blah, I can't believe I didn't notice the difference in notation and thanks :P I already know how to do the taunt loop, but I was just curious with this combo. I like her new 8D loop she has in CS2 much more than her taunt loop.
JamsLegs Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 (edited) My solution... When I had that problem I did a few things to make sure if it was my timing or my input... 1. I'd do 6A -> JC -> j.2D ... a good 10 times to see if my timing was on point, then ... 2. After I check that it wasn't my timing I would add the B drive cancel in to get that timed right. In my experience, I was pressing the B cancel toooooooooo early which made me whiff... --- After doing the Tauntloop for a while I noticed that there's a very small delay from the j.2D and the B (cannot be rushed)... I also noticed doing the taunt as late as possible helps get your opponent at that right height to continue the taunt loop. --This was brought to you by JamsLegs Edited April 15, 2011 by JamsLegs
WayINside Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 any section for CS2 combos? just got it to my psp and i want to main tao as my d-pad character ((not that i'm implying she isn't good enough for my (arcade)stick, it just that life took me in direction of other furry:P))
