Spirit Juice Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Whomever lost to Klaige should kill themselves. <3
Klaige Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Whomever lost to Klaige should kill themselves. <3 It's kinda hard to argue with this. Good shit everyone, shoutouts later.
MacArthur Blunts Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Wow that was fun. Good seeing old faces and meeting new ones!
Heroic_Legacy Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Well if anything, I'm proud of the fact that in my first tournament, as a Tager I gave a Carl the boot from the tournament personally. That alone made my 2010 fucking amazing. And the whole group of people who somehow made it near me and started complaining about how Tager was broken and too good. That was pretty good too. Gave me enough shit to fuel the Tager train for my second fight against Meta... Till Ryan-Bill said no to Tager's attacks and said yes to Tager Specific FRKZ rape. Swear I've never seen such a large, awesome, and heartbreaking combo all at once. Hope I see yall some other time.
j1n[kr] Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Whomever lost to j1n should kill themselves. <3 fixed it for you. Includes Vortex for almost losing to me! your 4th place spot should be mine! I play guilty gear once a year. This happens to be the tournament I play it at. If you lost to my sol or slayer, even just a round, you should kill yourself immediately as I don't do combos or anything good at all. Also mac should kill himself for getting hit with scrubgrandviper more than 3 time <3 Good seeing you again Mac, REPRESENT OHIO! (or whats left of it) and anyone else I kept landing that move on. Protip: Jump (8) Anyway, I'm too tired from getting destroyed on New Years, I don't think I'll ever drink alcohol again. If you look hard enough you can possibly find drunk Nives videos talking about Natalie Portman, and removing his pants. I am ninja enough to never be caught drunk on video... yet. Lol I was so worthless the rest of the weekend after drinking enough to kill a large elephant, sorry I didn't represent alcohol hard enough at the tournament. Anyway Shoutouts to all, Great time! This tourney just made me wanna play GG again since I felt I did so well and came pretty close to beating those I lost to. Which is another topic all together: I thought you fags are still playing this game and are getting better wtf? Shoutouts Alphabetically: Aaron: How is Spinach and Anal Sex Alike? Lol It was great to see you STL guys again. The story of the hardworking American Steel Worker who Triumphs over The Evil Japanese Empire will continue again another day. Bozac: We miss you! talk to you soon. ChronoSabre: Aric great seeing you again dude! we didn't get to play! Dustloop: Fuck you for losing the "Fuck Mountain" Thread. How can that thread be gone? Everyone Else: fuck I'm tired I'm going to just put an E for everyone else. GG's to all! Frankie Gomez: Get Better at everything and come see me at the top of the mountain when u ready. Geronimo: Good shit running SF4 even though you wont read this. Hotel: WTF was up with that god warrior coming over from the Christian Convention and saying "God tells us there is a deaf person here, we would like you to tell him that we will pray for him and God will heal him" and then Geronimo goes "Theres nobody here who is deaf". LOL, was his faith shaken? no way God's never wrong right? Invincible DP's: thanks for carrying me so far. This is probably why I won so much, is from playing SF4 and just waiting for TIGER UPPERCUT. Jerry: Thanks for housing us! We love you man! Korean Food: you're the best Lue 9: (Blue 9 okay I cheated on this one fuck you guys) great meeting you dude! Didn't know you were in the Spoony Bards. I'll have to haggle you if I see you at a animu con. I'll get myself a quality stick so Riot Stomp doesn't randomly come out and I end up losing. Mac: OH-IO! Your slayer is hella better since last time I've seen it which is probably like what 5 years lol? I didn't even know Slayer could do 20 hit combos what the hell. Nebraska: GET A CAR THAT WORKS. Ohio: WHERE WERE YOU? SEAN YOU JACKASS. Prucha: Casuals tell me a story of how you're still hurt over a Sol v Potemkin loss to me 10 years ago. The trail of tears go all the way to the moon. I'll add you on Steam and we can play real men games. Q: ?question mark? people missing from this event, especially those who live in Chicago and still didnt come, wtf are you doing? Riot Stomp: please stop coming out on accident, I'm hitting wild throw or bandit-revolver not you... Senkei: wtf we didnt even get to play Travis: YOURE STILL BAD YOU SHALL NEVER DEFEAT ME IN CASUALS IVE LOGGED MORE HOURS IN SOL V ANJI THAN CHINESE GOLD FARMERS LOG ON WOW. haha good seeing you again dude. Oh you're welcome BTW for not playing Nu against you in BB. Haha one day we gotta get a drink, I keep being cheap and staying in peoples houses, I need to get a hotel room some day. Maybe I'll make a 2012 Return to Evo for the end of the World. Ukyo: Dennis its always great seeing you again bro. We are the OG's! Vortex: next time I wont switch to slayer it seems you have practice vs him, I'll just continue to scare the hell out of you with Random Sol. Whoever I landed 4 grand vipers in a row on: You need to quit. right now. XCTU: is a stupid name I can see why you changed it to Heartnana. fuck you trying to DQ me son of a bitch! lol thanks for running BB and loli games you did a great job, you don't need no fucking laptop! you got paper and pen dat old school shit. Also stop playing that loli shit. ^_^;; Yosh: YOSH, QUIT PLAYING LOLI FIGHTER GAMES. ^_^;; Zodiac Symbol: Its a new year bitches! and by the Chinese Calander, it's the year of the TIGER UPPERCUT!
Jam-Kiske Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Forgot to mention how much fun I did indeed have. It's things like this to remind me how much I need to practice so I'll stop being such a scrub... >> goddamn.
Ukyo Tachibana Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Whomever lost to Klaige should kill themselves. <3 I should definitely kill myself too, then :P All jokes aside though, Travis (Klaige) is probably the most improved out of everyone that I can remember, from this tournament. Rarely dropped combos, punished when the opportunity presented itself, good defense. Combine that with the fact that I sat blocking most of the time and completely forgetting how to block/punish certain stuff, and yeah, GGPO me! Obligatory shoutouts (this is great because I only attend one tournament a year now, which means, I also only have to do these once a year, lol?) Bozac "ElvenShadow": For orchestrating an excellent highway robbery - disguised as a complex underground video game gambling circuit - disguised as a Midwestern Guilty Gear Major! Mike "Geronimo": For running the majority of the Capcom-based fighters which includes (but not limited to) SF4. Mad props for your underappreciated and thankless job! Rob "HeartNana": Likewise, for running the anime loli fighter tournaments. I didn't get to see much of that "other side" but I heard there was some hype! Adam "Keits": Thanks for all the tournament match-capturing equipment, and thanks for running the Random Tournament, very fun! Just one suggestion though: You should make the players flip a coin as to who draws... and the other player should be the ONLY player to get to veto (since he didn't draw). OR... just eliminate the option to veto altogether (very sad I didn't get to play MTV trivia game, haha). Jesse "Fiestament": Absolutely surprised on how better you got with Testament. You weren't kidding when you said you were studying Shonen stuff non-stuff, haha. Should've lost against you in the tournament, for sure... Let's play at Jerry's house sometime! Aric "ChronoSabre": OG Slayer! We'll get you back in shape in no time now that you're free again! Jason "j1n": For always making tournament weekends a lot more entertaining than they already are (GG Grand Finals Color Commentary = gdlk!) and making hangouts a step above fun. Jerry "Nives": Always nice to hang out and you, thanks for the pre-tourney housing, and thanks for your XBox converter that didn't prove to be beneficial considering I lost most of my SF4 matches, haha. Don't beat yourself up too much for not carrying much weight in the team tournament, bad funks can happen to anyone, myself included. Travis "Klaige": As I've said above, probably one of the most improved players in the tournament, if not the most improved. After beating you so many times in countless tournaments, you have now beaten me in the last 2 tournaments we've been in, oh no! And to THINK... if you had stayed with Anji after all these years (instead of silly Venom/Slayer experiments), you'd be even better than your current level, right now! MANY THANKS for braving the cold, FROSTY weather and driving all the way here, despite your current house problems. And much apologies for having the venue completely change on such short notice - you are a trooper, for sure! Alex "Blue9": Awesome May, dude! You ended my team's tournament hopes by preventing my OCV, but I think I got revenge by beating you in the singles tournament with my REAL main character (Ky), ESPECIALLY since Jerry unplugged my controller and I essentially had to beat you 3 matches. :P Unfortunately for you, I am "The May Killer", and you ran into a really difficult roadblock, haha. With all of that said, you are really cool in person and I wish I had played more casuals with you. AND... I totally didn't know you were a guitarist for the Spoony Bards, haha. I like listening to your tunes at ACen for the past few years (one of my favorites last ACen was when your band did a rendition of the Star Wolf's theme from Star Fox 64, for example). I just ranked up in the nerd social circle by sheer association, hahaha. You on facebook? Hit me up, man See you at next ACen! Aaron "AKA": For a guy who apparently hasn't played GG in several months and has been playing nothing but BlazBlue, you still have owned most of us without breaking a sweat. Thanks for the Eddie shenenigans, you make "unwinnable" fights enjoyable! "MSong": Sorry for the rather embarassing Zappa vs. Robo-Ky team tournament match, haha. It happened so quickly that from an outside perspective, it looked like you just beasted on some random scrub. I hope I gave you a better showing in our NUMEROUS Ky vs. Robo-Ky matchups, even though none of them actually ever finished, haha. "Bipples": Welcome to the exclusive club of killer tournament Zappa players, which includes names such as fubarduck, KBNova, Rudy, 4gotten Kazama, HellSap, and of course, me, hahaha. Impressive Zappa though (especially if it's only 4 months old!). I had tons of fun playing Zappa mirror and was quite pleased I was the one to stop your 20-something win streak. :P "Senkei": Fun casuals with you also, man! I really like your Faust, it did a lot of original and cool looking mixups/attack sequences that Mr. ElvenShadow doesn't do. And to me, innovation = awesome. I can really see why you place well in tournaments, for sure, and if it wasn't for years and years of ElvenShadow experience, you would've probably made my matches against you look a lot worse on my end, haha. Thanks for coming to this tournament all the way from Florida! "MacArthur Blunts": Funnest player to watch at FF, period. I don't think I ever saw you drop any combos, every time I turned an eye. Not only did they hurt a LOT, they were mostly 20-30 hits that led to a knockdown. I mean, seriously, I never thought Slayer could do that many hits, haha. I really regret only playing one casual match with you (and when it happened, we didn't even get to finish the match). Maybe next year, lol. "SlyMoogle": Very impressive Anji, man! And props for beating AKA's Millia. We definitely need to have more hard-hitting Anjis around to represent. Thanks for the props during our casual matches, I credit it to my years of Anji experience vs. KBNova and (gasp) Klaige, haha. Plus, I used to be a formidable Anji player back in the days, too. "Tolore": Good shit taking BlackSnake down in Team Tournament, haha. I'm very sure SH_ is going to give him crap for this, nonstop! Also regret not having played you in any casuals, but that's okay, I hate Baiken with a passion anyway, having played against SH_ and Kevinforce for too many years. :P Thanks for coming all the way from Washington to play in this tournament! "Vortex": Probably the most pleasant surprise from the tournament. Someone from the new Team UIC is finally in the limelight! Consider this your coming out party, and I wish more good things to come for you! Let's play more at Jerry's sometime. P.S. Don't be afraid to play anyone in casual games, especially since you're never going to get extensive matchup practice elsewhere. "Bonzai": Your Testament is really scary, man, I'm surprised you didn't place as high as your spar mate. Maybe next time, keep going to tournaments! With experience comes tourney savvy. Also, let's play at Jerry's sometime! "Nappy Jin": Never sell yourself short, haha. So what if you haven't had a good tourney record against me? Think positively, you'll get me next time! "Beefman", "Dehumanizer", and whoever else I played in tournament: Fun matches, guys! To my legions of Quibatime Ky fans who may secretly be lurking and checking on my tournament placing on this tourney (lol): Many big apologies for not repping Ky hard enough, and only placing 7th. I'll just continue to come up with more original and innovative stuff, next time, and maybe I'll place better. And I still will continue to be the most exciting and creative Ky in America! To people I may have forgotten: I don't hate you or anything, I just have problems remembering everything. :P That was a fun weekend, guys. Tons of new faces (which is always good), and in case some of you can't put the name to the face, I was the guy with the white White Sox cap who played Ky and Zappa, heh. Not a lot of people recognize the OLD SCHOOL Guilty Gear players anymore, oh well. Very surprised to place 7th when I don't really play anymore. Maybe I should play in 2 tournaments a year (instead of just one), and I'll maybe place better next time, hahaha. Time to go back into fighting game tournament hibernation again (a.ka. retired mode). See you guys again in Frosty Faustings 3!
Klaige Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 As promised it's tried and true shoutout time!. Bozac - Just as last year, thanks for being the MC of another fine midwest guilty gear tourney. I think everyone involved appreciates how much effort you put into this thing, and how smoothly it runs with so many people. Guilty Gear is the sole reason I met all you guys, and I hope it never truly dies, but if this was the last great Gear tournament til a new version here in the midwest, then it went out with a bang. Great job and congrats on another tourney win. Rob - Was nice to see you again, much like Bozac mad props for taking time out of your vacation back to run a very nice tourney. I hope CS has a chance to grow on you, it's obvious you put a lot of work into Blazblue. Congrats on your victory and I hope the trip back to Japan is swift and safe (same goes for you Bozac). Mac - Sorry we didn't get a chance to get plastered, the hotel situation and a wifey that was tired of sitting in the room alone ggpo'ed my drinking opportunity. That aside, please stop playing Slayer, my butthole still hurts. If players hit combos half as well as you do we might actually have less scrubs in the US. Keep repping that busted ass stick! For Macs only! Tad - Always nice to see you again. Sweet run in Blazblue, your noel is really solid man. Keep me up to date on those potential TN tourneys. It's a long trek, but it was too fun to pass that up again. John (slymoogle) - Impressive shit in the team tourney. I'm still kicking myself for hitting FRC On, but missing the burst grab/punish. That point aside you were outplaying me in that match. I don't fight the mirror enough to remember all the silly shit i can and can't do. you earned it in both our teams matches. M.Song - Pleasure teaming up with you. You're Robo is really good, which is nice to see, no one reps that guy anymore. Clutch wins all across the team tourney and i had a good time playing you in casual. That's a matchup i don't see much, so it was fun to get some practice in. Great job all around. Senkei - Good to finally meet you and get some games in, thanks a ton for letting me tag along for the ride in the team tourney. You're Faust is not just gimmicky, it's really damn good. I have no illusions that our tourney match turned out the way it did because of matchup experience. I'll take em any way i can, but i have no doubt that once you know that fight better you'll be no fun to fight with Anji. Always cool to meet a chill dude who will take a long journey out to the cold ass midwest for gear. Vortex - First time ive met or played you, and ouch. You're jam came out of nowhere and knocked me flat on my ass, twice! Real good defense, and you know how to use her pokes extremely well. My dumbass kept trying to take that fight to air when i know it doesn't work. I've always always struggled with good jams, it's a nightmare fight for Anji. I had nothing for you, good shit. Prucha - Bout time you showed up again ya ass! All kidding aside i know what it's like to get busy with real life and priorities and shit, so good on you for that man. You're venom is still sicker than shit, sorry we didn't get any games in. Always great to have you around, even if work keeps you busy don't stop playing, it's too fun having you around at tourneys bro. Jesse - Your testament has leveled up hellas sir. Well done, thanks for the pull of the flask, that's what i love to see. QUIBATIME - Man, the epic battle just keeps moving on doesn't it? Hard to believe just 7 years ago you guys were showing me just how scrubby my anji was. I've always had fun playing you, it seems like our skill levels are always close to one another and we always have great fights that come down to pixels. Truly it's been a pleasure playing you, and even more of a pleasure to have you as a friend at tournies. If that was truly our last clash, then it's been a great run. Frankie - GG's in Blazblue man. I'm definitely not much more than your average ragna scrub and i happened to mash out some lucky shit in our match. Hopefully CS gets me more interested in taking the game seriously and trying to learn it right. Pleasure bullshitting with you later too. J1n - The one and only. Nothing completes a gear tourney without you bro. Thanks for only using Nu once, i always like the freebie lol. Needs more J1n gear commentary, scrubs just..don't..know. Jerry - Mad props for recording everything you did. Your Sol seems greatly improved from the last time I saw it so really good shit there. Nice to get to talk with you for abit. Kurt - Grats on your run in BB, nice talking with you too. Hopefully i'll catch you on Live once CS gets a console release. Tolore - Way to rep the northwest, both your baiken and arakune are very very strong. Sorry i couldn't put up much of a fight in BB, that's one matchup i just kind of lay down for haha. Excellent job in both games. Andy (capps) - Always good to see you man, didn't get any games in this go round, we'll have to rectify that next time. Jeff (kurasa) - Awesome that you popped up man. Sorry i was deadweight in our BB team. Aaron says you are thinking about learning Gear. you're TvC skills are more than enough proof for me to say hell yes to that idea. Good shit, i'll make it down to an AR sometime soon. Andy (Blackhat) - Always a pleasure. Thanks for getting us a game in the team tourney. It's always fun to get some bullshit time in with you, hopefully i'll make it down to your neck of the woods again soon. AKA - It's not a real tournament for me if you aren't there. You'll always be my long lost brother, keep me up to date on whatever game you are focusing on, i'm always willing to learn, most of what i have learned in the last 3 years has been with your help during our long bullshitting sessions. If tekken online really is getting better maybe you can start learnin me in that too. Take care, we'll get together again soon bro. if i missed anyone, my apologies. it was a great time as always, and I hope this is a sign to everyone that Gear isn't ready to roll over and die just yet.
ElvenShadow Posted January 4, 2010 Author Posted January 4, 2010 I think people deserve some proper shoutouts so Geronimo: Thanks for helping with running registration and thanks a hell of a lot for stepping up to run SFIV after no one else wanted to do it. You even ran Marvel too. I really appreciate your effort espessially since you didnt even enter anything. Good seeing you again man. Heartnana: Thanks for getting there really early to help run registration. Also you ran really smooth BB tournys and your bracket poster was slick shit. Congrats on taking all BB and winning Melty singles. Ill probly see you again maybe around spring break if we all come visit Kansai. Andy capps: Thanks for running Melty and helping me organize the event. Ill probly see you again before you head back but if not we will hit up Tokyo the first weekend after I get back if you are down. Syxx: thanks for running HDR. turnout for it was low as you predicted but thanks MrMan: thanks for running the 3S tournament and making yourself avaliable for matches pretty quickly despite being busy running 3S on one tv. Keits: thanks for all the help with random game and random SFIV tournaments. no epic last TvC tournament but thats ok, we had plenty going on anyway. see you next time! Ari: thanks for helping with SFIV 3 on 3 and congrats on raping lots of people in street fighter. I actually would have liked to play you in IV but I know youd beat me down, but it would be nice for the experience. AKA and Blackhat: It was nice having you guys stay at my house and get some extra games in. I appreciate you coming out here and its a shame the rest of your crew couldnt make it. Aaron, you gave me a good fight in GG and I look forward to watching the finals. Despite hardly playing you are still a force. See you next time around. blacksnake: good shit on 3rd. good shit in teams too. I guess Aaron was just hungier this time. I know you are all down with that TF2 but dont forget about GG. Hopefully you can start hosting some sessions again since we have lots of good talent in Chi emerging. Ill see you before I leave for sure. Fiestament: I know you probly dont check SRK but good shit in teams and also your van is godlike. see you before I leave again Senkei and Msong: thanks for coming all the way from FL. Senkei, keep repping that Faust, its too bad we didnt get to play even once. Msong, nice match in the tournament. Youll get another shot next time! Nives: Thanks for taping all that GG stuff. I also was surprised you didnt get farther since your GG game has been levleing up a lot over time. Lets hit up that metal bar soon! J1n: King of commentary and always the life of the party. good seeing you again dude. you and your girl need to come back to Japan again and this time we will meet up for sure with the help of cellphone technology! Humbag: good match in SFIV. You should have had me but I got lucky I guess. You are still a better SF player than I am. Klaige: despite all the BS you had to put up with im glad you had a good time coming out here. i look forward to chilling again next time around. good tournament showing also! Bluenine: thanks for coming all the way out here. good luck with your show in California. i appreciate how dedicated you are to GG still Slymoogle, blunts, bipples, alphakami: thank you guys for making the trip out here. You are all also still very dedicated to keeping the scene alive though I know everyone is struggling to still play GG more. Thanks for the beers in the hotel room blunts and slymoogle, and good games. blunts, your slayer is really solid and you have good safe combos. bipples, good stuff for not having played the game much, keep it up. Alphakami, thanks for that big TV, it worked really good. Talore and Stark: thanks for coming back again this year from so far. I hope you guys had a good time and can make it out again next time Dennis: your a smartass lol. good chilling again, were gonna go drinking at least once more before I leave and play poker or something. keep playin dat GG! you have to enter at least more than 2 tournaments a year now Vortex: wow 4th place! excellent job! you are gonna be pretty notorious if you keep playing seriously! dont let up dude! good match in the tournament Chronosabre: nice to see you again Aric. Still one of the most OG players ever! Keep biting people and punching them really hard in the face and doing long too much damage combos! everyone else: thanks for supporting this even and it was great seeing those of you who I know and seeing all the new people come play. I hope you all enjoyed the event and I will be doing it again next year so please come and support it again!
Hellmonkey Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Fairly expected results, would like to see vids. I hope events like this are still being run when I'm out of school and have time and money to spend.
tolore Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 woo shout outs time, like always frosty faustings has been a ton of fun, it's totally worth staying an extra week on my trips over to chicago. Heck money permitting I'll come even when I don't go to chicago for christmas. My shout outs will be super long because I basically never see any of you people! ElvenShadow - of course, thanks again for running this event, it's always a lot of fun, your faust is still beast, I thought I might get to OCV your team in GG but alas, I was stopped! Heartnana - thanks a lot for running BB stuff, I'm sure it was difficult for both you and eleven shadow since there was so much overlap in the tourneys. Your noel is hella beast, you really show why japan is often better then america, you seem to have every match up down pat, you know what combos to do off most every hit, and you know what to do on the defense, offense, and in neutral really well. There's few people I've played in America that'd even come close to that level of skill. It's also always great to meet more willvo members since pretty much only gimpy lives up here. Alpha kami - thanks a lot for teaming with us in GG and hanging out the rest of the night. Your ky is pretty awesome, you just need all the matchup experience, your combos are really strong, you picked up some stuff I really didn't expect. Your noel is also pretty awesome, though no match for heartnana's! Definitely one of the best noels there. Ryan Bill - You've got a really really strong bang there, I usually win that matchup no problem, but I've never seen a bang pressure like you do. I think the rest of the bangs are too afraid of arakune, but you dove right in, and it showed great results. You and heartnana were the only people to beat me with any consistency the whole night! I lost to you THREE times between two tournaments, that's the second most I've ever fought the same person in one day since Recna(I fought his team twice in teams, and him twice in singles at one tourney, it was crazy). Bluenine - You had an awesome may, that matchup is always a nail biter, I have a bad habit of losing to may in teams at basically every tournament I travel to, both times I've gone to evo and now this last frosty faustings! At some point all of us Alex's should get together and have a 5v5 team or something, there's so many Alex's, heck we've probably got 5 between southwest canada, washington, and oregon alone. AKA - you're eddy is really beast, even if I had the matchup experience that match would have been really rough, your millia was also looking awesome in teams. You're ragna is also awesome, definitely one of the best I've played(other than veteru, his ragna is too beast). The arakune matchup is really rough on ragna, and I've got a decent amount of experience in it, you probably won't be having in problems in CS though, ragna is insane in it! MSong - holy crap, your robo ky is awesome. I have a ton of matchup experience against robo ky(though our robo ky hasn't played since BB came out), you're at least as good as our robo ky was, which is shocking because he was amazing. Good job taking me out in singles. Bipples - you've got a pretty sweet zappa, not sure how well you know the baiken matchup but our match was pretty fun, Raoh is always a nail biter for me, I often make a mistake against him and die horrifically. Keep it up, it's always nice to find new good players. MacArthur blunts - Your slayer is really strong! You picked up several combos off of stuff I didn't think were going to lead to damage at all. One of the closest and most terrifying matches I had the whole time, you reminded me why I have to ask "will this hit kill me?" no matter how much life I'm at against slayer. Blacksnake - really good match in teams, You've taken me down several times at the last frosty fausting and at the first evo I went to, I'm glad I could finally return the favor, although who knows what would have happened if it were an actual 2 out of 3. Your venom is still the best around and it definitely wasn't an easy match! Testament player on elven shadows team whose name I forget(sorry!) - Your testament is also very good, I have a ton of matchup experience with wuku, one of the best testaments around, if I didn't I'm sure those results would have been very different. Testament player I played a bunch of casuals with and fought in singles whose name I forget(also sorry!) - Pretty much same as above, your testament is pretty nice, I've never been hit by the skull/curse thingy as much as when I played against you. If i didn't have so much matchup experience that would have been a lot more rough for me, keep it going and learn that baiken matchup! Frankie - Too bad I didn't get to play you any in gear, your a pretty cool guy, and your ragnas not bad. You gotta work on that arakune matchup though, it's a rough one but if you're careful and work on your defenses it can be winnable. I'll be sure to say hi to polka for you next time I see her. Klaige - good stuff on coming out here even through your hardships, if everyone were as dedicated as you we'd probably be just as strong as japan and still have a roaring scene! I wish I had played a lot more GG casuals, I didn't know we were cleaning up at 11, I was gonna switch from BB to GG at like10 20 but it was basically too late then. There were a lot of people I wanted to play GG with that I didn't get to. Arakune is a total jerk in CT, he's a lot of peoples toughest matchups, I know how frustrating those matches can be(V-13 is crazy bad for arakune ). It was good meeting you and hopefully I'll get to play some gear with you at EVO or FF3. Ukyo - Again too bad I didn't get to play you at all, I'm not sure I've ever played your ky, but I remember your zappa being pretty dang strong at last years Frosty Fausting. Baiken V ky is another one of those matchups thats just way too roguh, ky has to play really careful and different to get out of that one unscathed. Vortex - I don't think I saw you at all, but good job placing so high in GG I really wish I had played you, north west doesn't have a jam, and as one of my bad matchups I like to get as much experience with it as I can. heroic legacy - thanks for teaming with me and stark for BB, I wish the tourney would have been double elimination instead of crazy pools stuff, I think our team could have gone quite far! Sorry I couldn't take down the bang, he was just too strong! Anyone I forgot - I had a lot of fun playing with basically everyone there so if I played you at all you deserve a shout out! Next time I'll try and play a lot more gear, maybe my flight won't be at 8 in the morning next time and I can hang around after the tourney for some casuals. edit: oh yeah! necrosis, I gotta give a shout out to fellow willvo members, its always good to see your salty self at tournaments. some day I'll play naruto with you guys, someday!
MacArthur Blunts Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Guys I would do shout outs but I always feel like I'm going to leave someone out and it sucks. So here it is. Fuck yeah guilty gear and all it's amazing players.
Jam-Kiske Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 Reading shoutouts reminds of some of the little things I saw. Watching you people who are actually good is really fun... as is totally getting my ass kicked. >>;

Jam-Kiske Posted January 4, 2010 Posted January 4, 2010 hey jam, i think i played your team in gg. good games, its always fun to play vs people that are enthusiastic about the game. ^_^ Did said team involve a female and lots of scrubbiness? If so then yes... >>;
Adelheid Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 So, I did incredibly poorly in Guilty Gear and I feel kinda bad about it, but then I wasn't expecting to do very well because I effectively only have about three weeks of experience with Venom. I fully expected to go 0-2 no matter who I was matched up with; That I won a match was rather surprising to me. BlazBlue I did a lot better with and overall had a bit more fun with, but I can't really say I learned all that much from playing it because my character is about to change somewhat drastically and I'm probably not going to ever play CT again after this tourney. Shouts out go to Tolore because you're fantastic. Alphakami because you're a cool guy, thanks for teaming with me. j1n for blowing a full meter on doing Dragon Install and then immediately Tyrant Rave ElvenShadow for being a really cool guy and hosting all this, and for playing me a lot in casuals even though I never even won a round. Blacksnake because I learned so, so much just by watching you play. Meta because the Carl mirror is very stupid ahaha. Heroic Legacy for 1. Being actually an impressively good tager and 2. Teaming with me. HeartNana for showing me what a real noel player is like in person, and for running BB. Probably like fifteen more people that I just couldn't remember the names of, but who were sweet, sweet people.
SuperKawaiiDesu Posted January 5, 2010 Posted January 5, 2010 Good shit heroic. Soon i will be the low tier rep though :I
