AdamNW Posted February 10, 2010 Posted February 10, 2010 Ragna and Bang, most likely. And Arakune, for lulz
JohnAnon Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Hakumen is pretty much the same, except his BnB normals in CT (6B and j.2C) are nerfed and he gets 2 new moves (4C and j.C) instead. Hakumen jumped from C to A tier in CS. Do the math. I miss them already. Oh, and get used to having j.C changed to j.2C.
Poizonous Flour Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Litchi CS =/= Litchi CT. You can play her like CT... but you'll be lacking big combo damage, and the ability to get them to the wall due to the changes. She lost quite a bit of her basic BnB's, and gained some new ones. Most of her combos now require 3C ittsuuC. Tsubame isn't as strong and game dominating as it used to be. Her zoning capabilities and overall playstyle remained the same... and she can actually break someones guard this time. (All the times I played her in CT... I only managed to break someone's guard 1 out of 1,000,000 games. Now... if they block for 1 Litchi blockstring, they are forced to Barrier to save a break.)
10stars Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 Ragna and Bang, most likely. And Arakune, for lulz None of bangs advanced stuff can be practiced correctly in CT. 6b > 2a timing is different than just mashing an rc in CT 2c > 2b is only doable in CT off of an rc. the 6c combos are all doable in ct with techs turned off. He doesn't have j.4c in CT so his air combos are all different. His FKRZ bnbs have changed drastically. His throw combo is actually a combo instead of 623b cancel. 5c > 6a > 623b wasn't done in CT.
Kain Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 He doesn't have j.4c in CT so his air combos are all different. This confuses me, I thought Bang had a j.4C to start with in CT.
zeth07 Posted March 2, 2010 Posted March 2, 2010 This confuses me, I thought Bang had a j.4C to start with in CT. He is referring to the new j.4C which looks like 6C but in the air. The old j.4C is now j.4B.
ATGMantenbo Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 i disagree with that litchi can be practiced in ct to play her in cs........ u cant do most of her ct bnbs in cs and her pressure gameplay has improved a lot with the addition of 4, 6 D and faster movements.... she's like a new character..... also with the new ittsu combos and kinda new style corner rape..... so yeah if u wanna a character in cs that can be practiced in ct go with tao, ragna, or jin.
Ronove Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Tao can be practiced but her BnBs are totally different. Hence in terms of playing style (both offense, defense, pressure game, etc) you can practice her in CT and be fine in CS, but in terms of plain combo practice and manuality you'll still have to learn a good bit of new stuff. I can do all of Tao's BnB combos in CT, including taunt and double taunt ones, but I'm still far from having mastered her new stuff in CS. So keep this in mind.
Soniti Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 NOT Rachel. Some of her basics carry over, but (most) combos and neutral situations in general are drastically different. If you are thinking about Rachel, consider ignoring CS completely
qwerty Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 Hakumen is pretty much the same, except his BnB normals in CT (6B and j.2C) are nerfed and he gets 2 new moves (4C and j.C) instead. 6B is a nerf but i hardly consider new j.2A a nerf at all. if anything, it's a huge buff because he gains way more meter during his dust loop now (and he gained ~2 bars of meter in ct). 6A is also hardly a nerf if you ask me; j.C is your new aa normal, whereas 6A is now an even better pressure/mixup tool than before. as for transitioning CT combos to CS; just remember that you always have to super jump cancel 2C in the dust loop now and that followups to CH 3C and 5D have changed dramatically (2B guren 6C is the combo i use for now off of both). as for overall playstyle, just play street fighter.
Irrsinn Posted March 15, 2010 Posted March 15, 2010 I always used to try to practice precurse combos with Arakune, but since the patch I can't do it anymore, I would configure it so one button would be A+B+C+D and keep it pressed, but it doesn't work now.
zaeris Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 Litchi CS =/= Litchi CT. Some people are forgetting the original intent of this thread. Which is asking which character you can practise in CT for CS not whether a transition to CS is flawless or efficient. With that taken into account it is character that exhibit combo that can work in Ct and CS or a makeshift that is similar which is impossible for purist or fanatics but if we were to give a close approximation we can suggest a few. Some character have new BnB which is impossible due to a change in their property Lamdba. As in you can't practise air hit 5cx8 6c or gravity combo into act C into pick up which is crucial to her new combo. but if you want to say practicing 5dd 6dd 2dd jdd jc jdd j214d is going to make you able to learn lamdba then shrug ^^, While I won't comment on Jin you can preform some of his new BnB to some extent but I will let the Jin expert comment on that. With litchi you can do a CT style Riichi combo which applies the same principle even though its harder somewhat but manageable for people to practise a delay Hatsu before Haku (her 3 dragon rekka) before riichi combo. Bang is the closest you can get or rather he is just easy to pick up if you know a bit of bang... ABC super anyone lol. I'm just going to wait for the picth fork from the bang player defending their easy to use character
huey253 Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 lols, bang is one of the few characters that doesn't have a ABC combo. but the transition isn't hard or anything. ragna has it much much easier though.
SimpleKiss Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 I want to say you can practice ragna in CT for CS, and just remember you end with his new move now. But I don't play Ragna. As for Hakumen, I feel that in terms of playstyle, he has not changed much. However, the only technical things I'd practice for H-Man for CS is hop/TK tsubaki and hotaru. those techniques are even more critical for him now in CS, since they both lead to huge damage, which wasn't necessarily the case in CT.
bluerogue Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 A lot of bang's bnbs are simply slightly modified versions of combos he can already do against tall standing characters. For me personally the only thing that might mess me up is the fact that j.c is now a new air combo move instead of a combo ender.
