I have some pointers for ya =D

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7LAEWh6Yog

only throw 6S When you have a razor or a buffer

j.HSS_3 is never good RogerGet set

f.s loses to RK's 2S, 2S, 6P, and 5H. so don't poke with it.

counter poke EVERYTHING w/ 3P.

Don't full screen zone robo-ky all your doing is giving him meter.

Close the gap and put yourself at the "I'mma CH you w/ 3P range"

Jump away from potential Robo Dash.

I'm glad you had vids up =D

Oh god not that video x___x'

I did ok in Singles (tied for 13th, 2 wins 2 losses), but I did so terribly in teams.

Thanks for the advice though! The night before the team matches, I spent a few hours playing Digital Watches. At the time I only knew the Chipp match-up, & the thing I had the most luck with versus him was 6S, so that just kind of stuck with me the next day and fucked me up real bad, heh. I do still have some Robo-Ky problems, thanks for the MU advice :3

Here's a more recent video of me in a casual versus mah BF: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7BzyNx90jk

And one in a small San Jose tourney: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-6661501487852427548&hl=en <----I go for j.D a little too much and I drop my CH 2S combo like a jillion times, but other than that, I'd appreciate any & all input

:)

Here, these videos are far better. Though admittedly, I seem to have been a bit out of it. I have a hard-on for Roger Get and KSMH in these vids. Heads up: In my match vs. Tantin, I dodge Dead On Time twice; once with MAMKM and once with Starship. However, the coolness factor of that is reduced by various idiocies; a glaring example being a 2S counterhit into KSMH (read: aforementioned hard-on). EDIT(+3 fancy points for color): I'm pretty sure I try to do Roger Rush FB twice when i don't have enough tension in the match, leading to genius 5D Okizeme. I really need to learn to read the bars better.

Koogy destroyed me but he gave me a banana after so it was all good >:3 He was trying to help me out a bit; I heard he also taught you, Jais :keke:

Random notes:

Generally using j.d outside of mixups is a nono.

IAD j.k is fairly bad (IMO its risky/terrible/laggy) to be doing and if your reactions arent spot on it will go into nothing.

Use j.p to cover jumps and FDC rolls

Use j.s defensively to cover your fall

2p x n > 2d (your forgetting to 2d alot of the times)

2s > 2k (whiff) is a fairly good tool, play with it.

Overall:

I feel every time you get knocked down you get smashed by that player. And you seem to lack direction with your okizeme. Some of the times you hit him it looked merely as though you were pressing buttons for the point of just pressing them (2s hit > 5d/whiff 6ks ect). Anyways, I think you should improve on your okizeme. A quick and really easy improvement would be to incorporate MAMKM > mixup since your bar spending is lacking (you have lots of it now so spend it).

Learn stuff into > j.s > j.2s > j.s > j.2s for a fair damage boost for barely any effort

Good luck on learning buri.

My thoughts.

Good job using 2S in this match-up.

When you swing it you need to watch how it hits and pick up accordingly.

CH : 2S>6S>jc.S>j.2S>jc.S>j.2S> yo yo shenanigans

aerial : 2S>jc.S>j.2S>jc.S>j.2S> yo yo shenanigans

ground hit or block : 2S > yo yo shenanigans, or 2S>2K whiff resest

You appear to enjoy playing preemptively over reactionary. If so, try this second hit confirm.

ascending j.P

Hit : j.P>j.P>j.2S>jc.S>j.2S>yoyoshenanigans

Whiff : double jump back j.P hit confirm again

Hit: j.S>yoyoshenanigans

Whiff: HSS_5 or HSS_3 > yo yo shenanigans or roll.

you swing way too God damn much. You are begging to be fafnir'd, seriously. Watch and see if Hos has meter, than play reactively, not preemptively, with your 2S.

His IAD j.HS is your free CH 6P,6S>jc.S>j.2S>jc.S>j.2S>yo yo shenigans.

When you hit him, stop jump canceling and just HSS_# off of it so when you hit him again you can use the HS callback to extend you combos.

4) Is there a practical way to approach opponents in general with Bridget?

Yep, the "archetypes" for Buri are

1) f.S>HSS_6, then f.S>HS, f.S>6S

2) Razor Bear on the ground and 6P their jump in over the bear.

3) Roger Hug and tag their jump away with a normal

4) HSS_6,wait. If they run in see #1 above, if they IAD in see #2 above.

Good Luck ^.^

jais, im not sure if your posting all vids of bridget but svampen is a very very good bridget player and he uses the 2d>frc>unblockable set-up better then any bridget player i have seen so far hes on youtube under that name.

Hey guys just 1 more video from casuals (Just 1 match with Buri though, didn't get time :()

Just the 1st match is Buri- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P0gXfYqoIX8

Also i forgot to say thanks for that awesome input on those videos awhile back Jais :)

I struggle with comboing with Buri still. But I think I'm getting more of an idea of a gameplan.

A few notes.

+ Whenever you did callbacks they were really solid. Do more, its working for you and frustrating your opponent.

+ Blocking 6k on reaction is step one on not dying for free to Slayer.

+ Having a ghetto AA setup. Also note 6p beats bad jump ins, IAD and characters who have bad air to ground moves.

- Runaway game is lacking. You get cornered and die? its REALLY hard to lock buri down with his SJ/FDC rolls/airdash.

- Doing jump ins on slayer, not baiting one of his AA. (its a minus for your opponent for letting you do it btw and not yours so much).

- Whiffing 2s much more than you should be whiffing.

- Doing laggy non invul moves after whiffing in the opponents face. Stop this immediately.

- Initative.... I really think you need to work on knowing when you have it.

Thanks Feri, really good way of commenting. I can see it clearly in my game now. The whiffing in opp face point. Any advice on what moves if i make a close whiff?

Man, finally able to record a couple of buri fights from yours truly...any input is encouraged.

Hmm semester break i'll try to do more...thnx for any inputs.

ALright just watched the vids again, wrote down a couple things to make your already really solid bridget game improve.

* Your instant air dashing alot at many times where it can be punished, only instant air dash if your opponent whiffs, is forced to block, or u snagg them with a a call back(or other yo- tricks making them block),or to escape way above your opponent. empty instant air dashing can get u in trouble and the i-no punished it a few times, but there where times where u instant air dashed air to ground comboed very well.

*whenever u see i-no retreat in anyway like by back dashing or back air dashing....rush her ass down if she instant back dashes 6s her and if she back dashes to a note 6s her as well,i-no has a very tall hit box becuz of the hat so 6s hits her alot. The only way i-no can counter this is by frc-ing note...but as long as your mid screen she cant really get full advantage off this anyway. if she's full screen and your full screen 6set into roger drill to prevent note from going anywhere or to also limit i-no's pressure attempt. if yo is almost full screen with i-no force break drillif u know it will hit.

*when u roger rush(and they block) use these options to mix-up, i didnt think they worked when i read bout them on this forum but they actually do work very well.

-Run toward the opponent blocking hop up then straight down and do 2k infront of them this works i dont know why but it does, most people will block high expecting and air attack but instead u do nuthing land and do 2k while roger rush has them blocking(making that blocking noise sound while your in the air)

- do the same thing as before but instead u low air dash into an air attack string, instead of landing and doing a low.

- run jump over there and do a cross-up j.d while roger has them blocking

- and finally jump behind them land and do 2k(2d), i like this one it catches people and roger rush will travel toward u to make sure they cant try and anything.

i also saw that u 5d once during roger rush and that also a pretty good option but if your opponent knows what your dust looks like they might just block high and you will be at negative frames afterward.

When doing ground blockstrings to rolling j attack mix-up the best possible place to have the yo is behind them on the ground. the i-no player was back dashing and punishing u for attempting this on reaction, when the yo-yo is behind your opponent on the ground your rolling j attack will catch there backdash, its hard to react to and also u get the mix-up of empty rolling into 2k once your opponent gets use to the mix-up.

finally dont u dont really have to chase i-no. play around with runaway and rushing her when she try's to note.

When you whiff and they react too late with an IAD then 6p will stop them. Jump air throw deserves an honourable mention. Neither is better than the other. They are both exceptional anti airs so use them liberally. If they are on the ball with their IAD then you will most likely have to just sit there and block because anything else you try will get you CH. Now hitting someone that is running right at you (which is generally the case) is a little dangerous after you've whiffed something. You DO have options though Blocking: Game is too scary with all the nonsense FB that kill you should you do anything other than block. If you aren't feeling the same fear then you will be extremely surprised when you have to fight a competent powerhouse character and make one slip up to cost you 50% life. 1fj/FDC rolls: When you really want to GTFO with minimal risk. Starship: This move will get you killed. Why? Anything that is active for long enough will CH it as well as far reaching moves not being affected by it. But the fact that it has an FRC makes it a semi safe dp that is really hard to ignore. TK Starship: Loses to less moves IMO. No frc. Subtle/quicker whiff animation. Overall its pretty good. 3p: Will jump over lows even on the first frame of its startup. Has little priority during its startup but is extremely good at snuffing pokes out once the butt is fully extended. Random note 5d has a whopping 28f startup and 16f rec which means you eat BBU/DoT Get out of the habit before the bad man makes you

Damn...thanks for all the input alex and feri (\(^.^). I feel I need to improve my runaway game. But yeah alex, the pseudo jump into 2k works wonders but i tend to throw them in sparingly to keep my opponent guessing. As for my 5D, yeah i do tend to use that alot, it is a serious habit that the bad man has taught me...though i havent really fought a slayer much so i dont eat BBU's much. Other than that, I appreciate all the input and totally expect me to upload some more vids when i have the chance.

Casuals with my local Sol player.

http://www.youtube.com/user/Jamy4tehWin#grid/user/CFE64EE1A3F1773E

(Videos 4/5 contain slight use of the N word, just incase you take offense to that. Blame the SF4 player that was specatating. Last video is just one Buri match, It's just my scrubby Ky/Anji)

If anyone has some helpful input it would be welcomed.

What is the use of j.D I'm still unsure lol?

I know for a fact that I am using 2S an unhealthy amount (As can be seen in later videos where i just get GV'd for it)

The j.D is used as a pressure or for mix-up but very punishable so make sure you use it when you are at a very low level to allow for stun guard. Mainly do it in like Roger Rush mixups or when you have a yo-yo pulled to keep the opponent guarding.

I came across this Bridget combo video where at the end of the video Ky dusts Bridget, and Ky places all these orbs, which Bridget dodges. It was really cool, and I've looked for the video, but I can't find it. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I didnt do as bad as i remembered, but at the next tournament if they are recorded again i definitley will do much better.....i was very rusty...still dont know what to do about vomit thats when i started losing was during his vomit spam....And that potekmen i needed to find a better way to lock him down...i will do this all at the next ranbats. damn i still dont know about vomit i get air thrown or pressure for him spitting it out at me sigh.......

Woot! Some Alex action :yaaay: Just had to get that outta my system. I'll edit this once i'm done watching your vids. [EDIT] Alright. I finished watching your vids. Nice reppen' Buri, although you shoulda destroyed Pot lol. But credits to gwyrgyn's pot. Hmmmm I don't have much experience against Potemkin nor do I for Zappa, but in the Potemkin match I think you should've pressured him more. As for when he cornered you, your priority is escape because if you don't, well he showed what pots can do. The zappa match was interesting. Promethius is rly beast with Zap. That vomit thing is very tricky and that zappa does punish your jumping with air throws. Although i noticed that Bridget's 2S clashed with his vomit everytime, so maybe if u can utilize that... Other than that, nice to see you upload some vids Alex :keke:

thanks,^.^ although i feel so humiliated for losing those matches, i was so unsure of everything cuz its been so long since i played any real players outside the computer. As before next tournament i will do tons better.

And makouko yes thats the zappa player, HOWEVER, he was not at his best either he plays way way more crazy then that he was so scared to be overly aggressive due to the fact im aware of where and when to punish although i could not believe he whiiffed that dragon punch as roah and i did not punish it...errrrr..lol normally he hits it on block and then rc 's the shit. Vomit i dont know if i should just let him summon because as of right now im not sure of what else to do, it wont clash everytime. and after each clash he will just throw out another one. when i jump he air throws....if i block it im under so much guard stun, i back dash he'll just either backdash summon, or chase me into the corner and vomit some more.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqWGQcAJBE0 look at some of the competition....and u can hear me playing bridget in the background against a sol.
