Hi everyone, I've got what at first may seem a dumb question (mostly due the lack of release of BlazBlue here (<3 Australian release dates)), but I was wondering if there is any scene at all for BlazBlue in Australia, since the ps3 is region-free I assume the GGXX community of Australia (which I sure hope exists!) would've tried it out. If not, assuming CS gets a release here, do you think the scene will take-off then? Living in Perth, I probably wouldn't get to see much of a community anyway, but I'm part of a committee trying to organize a national fighting game tournament (ala Evo, but obviously not as big since the fighting community isn't as big here), and was wondering if BB should be in over GGXX. I'd love to be able to finally do more than watch games, as well. ;_;

American here. Probably going to be in Sydney in August. Is there any scene for GG or BB in AU at all? Would be awesome to play games when there.

We have BBCS cabs in Melbourne and run monthly ranbats for BBCT. Also, we previously have been running GGAC ranbats for 3 years straight. Its not a strong scene (approx 20~25 a tournament) we have. But many players are dedicated (ex GGAC players). Edit: Dont run GG over BB unless you personally know a scene there that will support it. BB is just more casual friendly which produces a larger turnout.

We can get sponsorship from a few places, though, so the turnout isn't too important, esp. since both games would be expected to produce a fairly low turnout, so we're not relying on them. I'd just want people to have a good competition in their game. Btw, the event won't be for a while yet, and by that time, the casual market would almost entirely have moved on, imo.

Whoa, 8 month old necro but hey better than making a new thread.

So I was wondering what the arcade scene in Melbourne is like, particularly BB, is it healthy? Where's the scene at; where are the places to go to find arcades with cabs and stuff, etc. Much appreciated, I'm passing by the area in the coming week.

I don't really check this area (I guess you can understand why).

We still have our BBCS cab.

Box Hill timeout. Tuesdays 5pm~till close is where you can meet up with the local scene.

Note to people visiting Aus looking for BB players - PM me. Most (aust) players won't check DL or post here.

I wouldn't mind some people to play this with, doesn't look like anybody has this for he 360 though! I'm kinda over the lack of good people on the 360. I come across great player, but they're never from Australia and when they are from Australia they're hopeless.

1 person however, has managed to completely destroy me everytime I played him x_x but he's never online! SO! if anybody has this for the 360, I'd be glad to verse them... =D

As far as I know in Southern queensland there's no one playing blazblue. I've met a few players at the arcade at Sunnybank plaza in Brisbane but they removed the arcade cabinet because no one played it except for mayby 1-3 people(who actually knew how to play). Anyway anyone on psn from Australia just add me. Haven't played in a while so i'm probably rusty(waiting for the update)

For Australia, there's two main sites most players check rather than dust loop.

One is Couchwarriors.org which is where Feri (#1 ranking BB player in Aus) frequents.

Second is here where Isorropia (#2 ranking BB players) Frequents.

Couch Warriors is the Melbourne Scene,

OzHadou is the Sydney scene.

There's a PSN list of players you can find here.

Bumpity bump, Couchwarriors.org has moved and the new forums are still kind of empty, so thought I'd ask here again. I'm going to be in Melbourne for a loooong time, so is the only CS cab still the one near Boxhill station? Passed by the other day but didn't get a chance to step inside.

The CS cab at Box hill has been removed around a month ago in favor for more SSF4AE cabs :(

You'll be able to meet us (the melb crew) if you come to the couchwarrior events (there was one on Saturday). You can also find a bunch of us on IRC. irc.mergo.net #couchwarriors

i'm running a tournament this weekend for ssbm and blazblue. it's pretty late notice so i don't expect many people will turn up, but here's the details http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=307752

blazblue stuff is in the second post, how to get there etc is in the first post.

EDIT: so for anybody who does eventually end up in this thread, i'm going to be running approximately monthly bb tournaments in brisbane. go through the above link for more information.

Yo Pete why did neither of us come in here and mention we've been playing BlazBlue almost once a week for over 2 years now? Oh well.

The Perth FGC meets every Sunday/every second Saturday, both main organizers play BlazBlue as their primary game so there is at least one other player at every event. If somehow some Perth BlazBlue player who can't find his local scene stumbles on this thread PM me or go to http://www.facebook.com/OzHadouPerth
