Gonna kick these off the ground, no time to keep waiting :yaaay:

Basic advice

Save your nails as much as you can for mid-range approach and often free combo to oki, Lambda really falls short on defense.

Pressure her wakeup with your longer normals, and meaty them in a way that option select hits her block or baits the DP. It's a really slow DP.

PATIENCE. Don't approach too hastily, and don't be over afraid of taking a guard primer or two. You have FIVE, a whole meter of barrier, and even if she breaks your guard somehow you still only take one hard prorated combo. Don't buy into lambda's "YOU'RE GOING TO DIIIE if you don't approach NOW!" mind rape. If you find a hole in her zoning, you can make her immediately feel it, hard; you won't get that if you're impatient.

Make sure you IB her multi hit-guard pressure, because if you don't, when you see that Parser, you'll be frame trapped and won't be able to interrupt it. If you DO IB, 5A that garbage clean.

Also, a random parser, if you read it, 5A to INTERRUPT. If you read it too slow, IB it, and if it was the low, you get a free 5A anyway. If you IB the AUB, you can Dnails, which should interrupt any attack and catch her backdash too. If you IB and NOTHING HITS YOU, very often is a cancel to grab; if great reflexes, you can try to jump towards her and make her whiff her grab then aerial her, but most commonly just be ready to tech it.

I haven't played this matchup enough, help :psyduck:

Well, You know that whole deal on 6D on her swords. Bad idea now. I did it on AI and a friend. Ussually when you 6D nu regular 5D. You teleport, free hit. Now she has enough time to react and stop you. Seriously I teleported ands he turned around and whacked me. AI didn't do a combo but it let me know it was a dumb idea now :[

Yeahh....about that I did that and she did an astral on me ( on reaction) Sux for me....almost wanted to cry.

She always had that option, but now there's reason to carry it out. 5D CH > Parser is 5k+ or a relatively unpunishable attack if the 5D hit block or normal hit. So, why would you try to interrupt a follow up to 5D that won't be there, is the argument. Parser brings her out of harms way completely, or CH's you if you fail to teleport right. So the 6D gimmick, as always, falls short. Block more, her pressure isn't that scary. :yaaay:

I played against 2 Lambdas at WB4. Stickbug and some other guy. Beat them both, but yeah... the matchup is pretty much the same as CT, but it's a little easier to catch them. You still need to be VERY patient and be smart about blocking.

I'd at least say it's in our favor now though.

it was near even before :/

Exactly. With Lambda getting worse and Bang getting better, this match had no where else to go.

Parser is those new dashing attacks she has, right? The low one is 5a punishable ONLY if you IB? I blocked it normally and it looked unsafe but 5a was out of range. Outside of IB what are your other options after blocking that? Please don't say "just IB it!" I'm looking for options if you mistime your IB but still block it.

If you miss it, you can throw Dnails to attempt to catch him backdashing, you could set a bumper if you read his backdash..

Really though, you don't want to miss that IB. It essentially removes that attack as a poke.

Hmmmmm, so what moves can I IB to intercept it with 5A. Right now I'm having issues with my oki vs side techs, feels like they always get the chance to jump away, likely because I'm still adjusting to a stick and my dashes are kinda slow currently. Also ya, this match up feels nice , feels good to take revenge on nu's for CT

I was afraid you'd say that. Is there some trick to IBing consistently that I'm not understanding? I'm coming mostly from 3d fighters, and the answer is rarely "you gotta guard impact/parry that ish" so having to just frame block EVERYTHING is kinda new to me.

I've been jabbed out of all of her Parsers, so if you see her Parser, get ready to throw-tech, IB punish, or 5A/2A her out of it. Her Parsers are not as good as people think - they're deceptively slow (except for 236B, min.18 frame start-up).

IB is literally the basis of CS. Without IB, all offenses are 10x stronger, some nearly unstoppable. With IB, defense is generally stronger than the offense.

But another, generally better strategy is jabbing the parser, like overheat said. I think there are circumstances where you are in too much blockstun to, but it is a very strong strategy for dealing with it, esp if you are bad at IB.

Yeah gonna have to give some thought to whether or not I'm gonna play this game then lol. I don't think my stick can survive another beating. Really just don't care that much about fighting games anymore, until I fuck up. Then I care too much. So a game where the entire defense is based around a just frame blocking mechanic will probably just raise my blood pressure lol.

Fun game though, definitely not the game's fault.

Lambda's pressure isn't very scary, and pretty easy to IB. Use IB...a lot. I've had people not IB my 236b, then actually 2a them before their attempt to punish hit me, so without IB, 236b is actually really safe. And of course you can always IB the swords before the 236b itself and 5a the poor girl. She'll be using 4d a lot more than 236b just because of the relative safety between the two so 236b will be intended to be a surprise. Don't try to jump out of her D strings. Lambda players like to catch people in the air as it gives her a good amount of options, where as her ground lockdown is pretty limited. Not to mention she might try some 236c shit on you for the air unblockable, so just always barrier if you see her trying this. Still, Bang has a lot of great air movement so use that to your advantage.

Honestly, that was really general, and thats because this shouldn't really be problematic for Bang. Its a pretty dam lame matchup for Lambda this time around.

I notice a lot of Lambdas like to random 236C and then IAD backwards if its blocked. This can be punished on normal block with d5B j4C etc. It looks fucking manly as fuck.

On IB you can just d5B anyway and I think it CHs lol.

On normal block d5B catches backdash but you have to be fucking ready to do j4C if you hit them in the air cause thats nearly unhitconfirmable. Read the backdash or the air backdash and you can always get a combo off of normal blocked parser.
