Dacidbro Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 Bang isn't that bad for Arakune.. Ara's reversal backdash is one of the strongest options in the entire game for Bang's pressure, and if you backdash a command grab you get 100% curse. Bang's jC, commonly used for pokes and to ground your opponent, gets beat clean by air grab every time for 100% curse.. I would put it Bang's favor, but not much. And I know 3+ people are going to tell me I'm just playing it wrong, but seriously open your eyes Arakune is very very very good.
Lord Knight Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 People really underrating precurse Arakune . . .
Nakkiel Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 *sigh* hyperbole never works on the internet. It doesn't especially when I remember how scrubby you are, lol. On topic: I agree with LK and Dacid. Precurse Ara is pretty good when people know what's up.
Afrikaan Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 I'd say Precurse Arakune is better than Rachel or Tsubaki simply for the fact he leads into something ridiculous (He's easily the best character in the game with curse, this is inargueable) and has MANY ways to reach that peak and even some to get their immediately.
GenoWhirl Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Well I haven't fought a lot of Tsubakis either, but it isn't hard for her to build up charges during the match, and her pressure can be pretty bad for Rachel, mostly because of her charge canceling and 5B. She's like a mini Ragna when she's in your face. She can also IB and DP along with the best of them. Her unblockable gimmicks are a real pain too, if spaced properly, since Rachel has no invincible moves. Rachel's "DP" is a guard point, which the unblockable will just chew right through. Yeah but if she gets predictable with charge cancel you can just poke her out of it (I guess this is the part where good Tsubakis condition you and -don't- get predictable).. I agree with the unblockable being a pain. But AFAIK you stop her charging with Lobelia easily. And 4.1K from a CH C lobelia with meter hurts
Dacidbro Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Why would you get counter hit by a C lobelia? :c Ever :c
Dacidbro Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Well I'm sure he was referencing you're charging full screen and then C lobelia hits you, but holy shit you just have to let go like 15 frames before you die so don't be greedy o-o
HiagoX Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 People really underrating precurse Arakune . . . This.
DC Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Yeah for the love of god, Arakune isn't unplayable precurse. And while I'm at it, Lambda's close range normals aren't complete trash.
GenoWhirl Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Why would you get counter hit by a C lobelia? :c Ever :c Fine, winded C lobelia into BBL for loli 3.4kdamage :V
smooshman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 And while I'm at it, Lambda's close range normals aren't complete trash. and her "approach" attacks (act parser) aren't exactly punishable, being a -4 and perfect 0 on block.... not that I'm complaining, since it's pretty easy to predict.
Seifuuku Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 half the cast can punish 236b on ib.. and pretty much everyone can punish 236c on ib
GenoWhirl Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 All I know is that IBing cavaliers and mashing 5A is a pro strat
KojinSagara Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 i'd put mu at her best probably around lambda's level, or slightly below. I think her learning curve is the biggest problem as shes harder to learn then A-11 but i really think all it takes is someone to completely master her oki and she'll go up quickly. She has good normals for a zoning character and has multiple setups to adjust on the fly safely. She has a few wierd matchups but her versatility IMO makes her good agaisnt most everyone not named bang. she probably has a ton of even matchups now that i think about it...
smooshman Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 half the cast can punish 236b on ib.. and pretty much everyone can punish 236c on ib that's a given, but you're trying to IB something that has disappeared, not easy to do without alot of training..... actually it's hard to predict it, you can see it coming, but it's hard to tell when it will hit.
farranpoison Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I can IB B parser all day and punish with 5B. C parser is harder because the Lambda I play doesn't C parser unless I'm in the air or in a combo. It's not hard to IB parsers once you get used to them- oh wait, you play online, never mind.
Afrikaan Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Yeah for the love of god, Arakune isn't unplayable precurse. And while I'm at it, Lambda's close range normals aren't complete trash. I'd beg to differ with this. They're not the worst normals in the game, but they're pretty bad imho. I'd kill for them to revert half of the startup changes to 2C and have 2B not prorate so horribly.
Dacidbro Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 and her "approach" attacks (act parser) aren't exactly punishable, being a -4 and perfect 0 on block.... not that I'm complaining, since it's pretty easy to predict. Punch her before she finishes her dash for a free counter hit no matter what dash she uses..
ToastCrust Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I think that's only viable with 2 out of the 3 versions, actually. Either that, or the people who have been blocking my B parsers this entire time have been totally gypped. :d
Dacidbro Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 B parser is also interruptable in most or all circumstances with IB on what was happening before, I believe.
SolarMisae Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Outside of a combo, random parsers actually are kinda punishable I belive. Thats why most Lambda players won't use b or c parsers unless they can be sure they will connect (after a CH 5D, for example...) It's unbelievably easy to poke Lambda out of them. Like Dacid said earlier, just punch her before the attack connects and score a CH. If it's blocked most Lambdas just back dash or IAD away immediately after, since it's pretty safe to do so.
ToastCrust Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 Derpderp, I should read the rest of the thread before replying. Totally mash all day* *just don't get CH 5D or something dumb
qwerty Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 precurse arakune is only gay because his teleports have next to no recovery and since j.B is still super gay it's hard to punish them
