corallein Posted April 16, 2010 Posted April 16, 2010 My ability to make it will depend on when it is and how I'm feeling that day. But the idea of sabotaging your ability to fight against Bang by making you practice against a shitty one is appealing
[X]CC[X] Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Only way keep playing and playing and battle all players, I'm up for this.
CopperDabbit Posted April 17, 2010 Author Posted April 17, 2010 Sweet! Thank you everyone for all of your support! Except Biter, you can burn in hell
Mike Z Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 I think what Biter was trying to say was, playing against a few good people is probably better practice than playing against a million OK people...but that's just a guess.
Dacidbro Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 He also may have meant researching great Japanese player's techniques, tricks, etc such. Or researching frame datas extensively. or such
Zaido Posted April 17, 2010 Posted April 17, 2010 Biter doesn't know frame data i think you mistaken that with Veteru
CopperDabbit Posted April 18, 2010 Author Posted April 18, 2010 Finally sat down and ground out a list of rules. First post updated! Rules: 1) Anyone is eligible to enter. 2) You can enter the CDC as many times as you want. 3) You're paying for your own game(s). 4) All matches will 2/3, on whatever setting the arcade machine is set to default to. 5) Winning 2/3 matches, you will be give $5 cash, on the spot. 6) Proof of money can be provided on site. 7) The CDC will last from opening till closing on the indicated days. 8) I will only have a limited amount of money on me. CopperDabbit Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 DATES: CDC 1: June 5th @ Sunnyvale Golfland (SVGL) 855 East El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA 94087-2937 (408) 245-1322 CDC 2: June 19th @ Arcade Infinity (AI) 1380 Fullerton Rd Rowland Heights, CA 91748 (626) 581-4361 Unfortunately, due to work + other scheduling conflicts, I will NOT be able to visit the PNW this time around T_T. After July I'll make a special trip there just for fun though. First post updated! Get hype! You all ready to take my money?
Chun Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I heard Aginor's voice all of a sudden. "GIMME YOUR MONEY BITCH!" HYPE
render Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Sick. CDC @ AI on June 19th. I'm there. Thinking about trying to go to the one at SVGL too, but I'm going to a wedding the next day so we'll see. <3
CopperDabbit Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Show up to the SVGL one render, and I'll treat you to a (reasonably priced) restaurant of your choice Special render only offer.
CopperDabbit Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 Can I get a special Tao only offer? Sure! ***SPECIAL TAOFTW ONLY OFFERR*** Show up and for the ENTIRE DAY I won't say a word about you being a furry. Peace out.
Coopa Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 OH, GOD! THE MONTH'S RENT IS LATE! I GOT TO GO TO CDC TO PAY FOR THE MONTH'S RENT OR LIVE OUT ON THE STREETS! Psychological victory. Guilt tripping. Top player strategies.
Mike Z Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I'll make the AI one. And I'll TRY to make the SVGL one, pending other SoCal interest. Can the special Mike-Z-only offer be something with donuts in it?
Dacidbro Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Mike, I'm going to imagine your special offer is going to be NEVER LOSING TO DABBIT AGAIN (in tournament) Dabbit, two questions. Any insight on the clear problem of arcade mode vs event mode? Also, when you go down to AI on the 19th, could I come with?
CopperDabbit Posted April 20, 2010 Author Posted April 20, 2010 MikeZ special offer: If you bring a dozen donuts with you, I will allow you keep at least 1/10th of them! Dacid, I'm just going to leave it on arcade mode, unless I can bang out a deal with the owners, whom are currently unaware of this event... And maybe. It depends on if after CDC 1 I still like you or not.
Dacidbro Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 I see My IMHO worst case proposal; It's on arcade mode, and you start the playing off. Someone beats you, you immediately replay him for another CDC Reward. If that someone gets you within 10% (This number is unimportant, replace with anything that sounds good) of your last life on this rematch, he stops playing and lets you kill him off, but still 'won'. In this way, opponents still cycle, people are rewarded for playing well and no one else is punished (as much) for this person's victory, you are still on the machine at all times.
Mike Z Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Dacid - nah, I'm fine losing to Dabbit. That man got them skills what set up the automatic bill-pay. Dabbit - I will hold you to me keeping at least 1.2 donuts. ;^) My suggestion for the event-mode thing, since Copper will be there all day to watch (and people are willing to pay and it is just the machine settings that muck it up)...leave the machine on Event Mode, put out a jar for tokens, and have the arcade person empty it every so often. While they may lose a token to the occasional jerk, it would be a much nicer atmosphere all around and help the entire thing go more smoothly.
Dacidbro Posted April 20, 2010 Posted April 20, 2010 Yeah, I think that would certainly be more ideal, but from a business perspective it's hard to see it happening.
junja Posted April 22, 2010 Posted April 22, 2010 arcade owners might be more open to event mode with some cash up front!
