I have been trying my best to get as good at BBCS as I am physically capable of being, with the goal of winning the SBO qualifier this year in texas. And with this goal in mind, I present to all of you: The CopperDabbit Challenge. What is the CDC? The CDC is a one day event I will be holding on the dates below, where I will show up to an arcade and spend the entire day there, from open to close, trying to play against as many people as possible, so I can become a better player. If everything goes well, I plan on repeating the CDC in NorCal (SVGL), and SoCal (AI) Here's the deal: When I show up to the arcade, I will have $100 - $200 dollars (depending on the kind of response I get here) in 5 dollar bills on me. If you beat me 2/3 games, you win $5. No strings attached. All players are eligible, and THERE IS NO LIMIT ON THE NUMBER OF TIMES A PLAYER CAN WIN THE CDC. Huh? Why would you do that? Wouldn't there be people who would just be willing to play you normally? Yes, that is true. However, most of the best players (from my experience) are poor ass college students who don't have the money to travel from place to place. By offering a cash incentive, I'm hoping that those players will be willing to show up as well. This is an experiment by nature, and I don't know how it will turn out, nor do I know if this will turn out to be a good idea. I may well just end up wasting my time/money. We'll see. Wow! DATES: CDC 1: June 5th @ Sunnyvale Golfland (SVGL) 855 East El Camino Real Sunnyvale, CA 94087-2937 (408) 245-1322 CDC 2: June 19th @ Arcade Infinity (AI) 1380 Fullerton Rd Rowland Heights, CA 91748 (626) 581-4361 Unfortunately, due to work + other scheduling conflicts, I will NOT be able to visit the PNW this time around T_T. After July I'll make a special trip there just for fun though. If something was not explained well enough, or you just have a general question, please let me know and I'll response ASAP. I do not have a special arrangement going on with any arcade, so don't go in to this thinking the games are going to be free. You still have to pay for each game, which means out of 2/3, if you win your net profit (at SVGL) will be $3.50. - $4.25, depending on if you steam roll me, or if I actually win one. Rules: 1) Anyone is eligible to enter. 2) You can enter the CDC as many times as you want. 3) You're paying for your own game(s). 4) All matches will 2/3, on whatever setting the arcade machine is set to default to. 5) Winning 2/3 matches, you will be give $5 cash, on the spot. 6) Proof of money can be provided on site. 7) The CDC will last from opening till closing on the indicated days. 8) I will only have a limited amount of money on me. Once it's gone, that's it - No additional prizes will be awarded after the initial cash prizes are gone. 9) This event is on a first come-first serve basis. Maybe I'll do one or two tager mirrors if I feel like it

Dacidbro Posted April 12, 2010 Posted April 12, 2010 Oh my god dabbit, do you understand how blind I have to rob you for this For my own personal benefit, and for YOUR benefit, I would suggest no earlier than June. This way, not only will I be in Norcal and available (which means all the bang practice you could ever hope for, since I will literally be there all day with you (and if it does hypothetically get ugly Im a friend, and won't keep eating your money, real talk)), but all the people you will be facing will be that much better than if you hold it soon. Going in with more experience all around = Better Practice = Better Finish. But honestly, even if not for that, hold off til June just so you get the Bang practice. You're gonna be playing a TON of them at Texas, from what I hear. Also, do you know how you're getting to SBO? If you were driving, I was going to hope to bum a ride (with gas payments ofc). If via airplane, fml
