Tritone Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 No correlation between age and skill. I'll agree to that when you find me a 70 year old who can beat me. Or a 5 year old.
purify Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Make sure to get this! Lol saturn pad. I'll say this about it...it's the best pad you can play Guilty Gear on, but it's still not up to par with any decent stick. I use a white saturn pad with the colored buttons. Not only is it easier to FRC than on a dualshock, you may develop better bursting habits since you won't instinctively go for that R1 + face button anymore. You can play using default setting/SS Pad or arcade layout if you want on it. A good investment if you're tired of the pad you have, but never learned/don't want/can't afford a stick for whatever reason The Street Fighter Nubytech crap does NOT compare.
zand Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 Who is Shinquickman? He seems very knowledgeable about the Game but i have never seen his name appear in Any tourney listings. Where he from and who plays against him? You don't ahve to place in tournies to be knowledgable about GG! I have personally placed last place in tournies before!
purify Posted May 15, 2006 Posted May 15, 2006 There's a lot more to consider at tournaments than just "who knows the most" or even "who plays the best", some people just play a lot better casually, get screwed in pools, hardware problems, distractions...smell...or just really awful luck.
Champloo Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Anyone seen the flying alian on Millias stage in Slash? I seen the giant alien head floating around on her stage while i was playing M.O.M. mode
Fugue Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Can someone please post a video or picture of the alien? I've yet to see it...

shinquickman Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 I think the old alien is still in it. I saw the one that hides behind just today.
Champloo Posted May 18, 2006 Posted May 18, 2006 Yeah RTL posted the one i saw. head in a spaceship. I never seen the old one. does it hide behind the water fountain? ANd why did they put that in this level? any purpose or they just wanted to be weird.
shtkn Posted May 20, 2006 Posted May 20, 2006 a small thing that i noticed: At the title screen, look at the shadow the title plate thing casts. You see the shadow for #R... Also, am i the only one that just figured out that venom wears some kind of hybrid skirt-pants thingie? I though it was just pants that was black on 1 leg and white on the other
shinquickman Posted May 21, 2006 Posted May 21, 2006 ANd why did they put that in this level? any purpose or they just wanted to be weird. The alien was hanging out in Millia's level since the original Guilty Gear. They continue to put it in other Guilty Gears out of tradition I guess. Why there's an alien in Millia's level in the first place is anyone's guess. Here's a stupid question. What would be a good name for the alien? Being in so many games, it deserves one, right?
Tritone Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 Turtling is the hunting of turtles, a practice formerly a big part of the economy in many nations of the west indies. In recent times, however, it has become outlawed.
orka Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 DO I LOOK LIKE AN ALIEN TO YOU?! you look like jiggling pair of tits
Fugue Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Allen. what is turtling? I think it's when you spend the entire battle using a crouching block in a corner and spamming long range attacks whenever someone gets near. Kinda like the opposite of Corner Rape. I don't think it's been a valid strategy in any decent fighting game for years now, and is punished pretty hard in GG particularly because of that NEGATIVE PENALTY applied when you do so for too long. I'm not sure about any of that, though. That's just the impression I've gotten. Post Script: I vote he be dubbed, "Xzudnidingywingy."
M.D. Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 If i plug an USB keyboard and a PS/2 one at the same time in my computer, would they both work allowing me to play pc ggxx reload with someone else (avoiding this way the pressing of 5-6 keys at the same time -> blocking the keyboard) ? I'd try but i can't get a hold of an USB keyb anywhere
4r5 Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 I've pluged a usb mouse and a ps/2 mouse in to my computer once. What happened was that both mouses operated on the same cursor. I assume the same would happen with a keyboard. The computer accepting two sources of input for a single interface. But this was a long time ago, back when I was using win95. Win95 (i think) didn't have support for multiple mouses, so it just took both sources and treated it as one mouse. I have no idea how XP would handle it. But if XP treats them as a single interface or seperate interfaces, I think either way you could work something out.
Kasou Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 If i plug an USB keyboard and a PS/2 one at the same time in my computer, would they both work allowing me to play pc ggxx reload with someone else (avoiding this way the pressing of 5-6 keys at the same time -> blocking the keyboard) ? I'd try but i can't get a hold of an USB keyb anywhere did that last week. Works fine, but you might have to make sure your keys aren't too close together. IE for second player if you using the arrows (up, down, left, right) and the keys 1,4,5,6,3 on your num pad for your buttons, they might lag because they're too close together. This is our settings for the two keyboards setup player 1) direction: w, s, a, d buttons: j, u, i, o, l, player 2) direction: f, c, v, b buttons: 1, 4, 5, 6, 3 Then it doesn't have much input lagg (at least we didn't notice it anymore) hope that helps
M.D. Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Thanks guys  I'm gonna get an usb keyb asap and play play play
