This actually looks really good.

The 3D games really turned me off of Mortal Kombat, but I would like to play the game I grew up on.

It looks like they're doing a good job on this one though.

Also, definitely should bring back cooking with scorpion. Greatest thing evar.

In addition to that. They should also keep in the Krypt in. I liked the idea of buying extra kontent with the hard-earned money I got from my fights (or wagering to blow it all on one big fight). Added a good deal of replayability.

Also, there should be an option to change the kharacter voices to the meaningless babble of all the previous games. That would be fun. KWASHNUKINNALABLA!

AAAAAANNNNNNNDDDD Alternate costumes to look like the Killer Instinct fighters. They contributed to the game, cash that shit in. Or maybe some Dark Ages characters. . . Or a costume editor. The MKA was the best I've ever used in a fighting game. How many other games (that aren't RPG) allow you to change your character's species?!

And, you know, a full-length episode of Cooking With Scorpion.

I wouldn't be surprised to be honest if they did do that. Capcom just sells out sooooo hard. They take things not from a gaming perspective, but from a mass marketing perspective. They're kind of like what the music industry is doing, delivering whatever they can to please the masses and cash in on it, because 1) They can afford to. and 2) They're well known enough so that people would want to have cross overs with Street Fighter and not KOF, Melty Blood, or any other good fighter that ISN'T Street Fighter. Anyhow, enough of that.

I'm a little weirded out. This Mortal Kombat seems legit. The whole 3D thing wasn't really that important in the newer Mortal Kombats to be honest as well. I mean, if you move through the 3rd dimensions the only real importance was hitting someone into acid or some stuff. But then it was very lame how the fatality aspect was killed with "custom fatalities". The combos are pretty cool though but my main concern that most likely won't even be covered is, will the game be balanced? Ah well. We'll see...

^This. I "came up" with a combo using all his specials back in the day, Lightning>Control Orb (drag em to you)>Super Roundhouse>Uppercut. Nothing special but back then it wasn't like I was looking up stuff on the internet and what not.

You're kidding me right? Did you ever NOT use the rain lightnings your ass over and over again to victory trick? I'm not kidding that shit was RETARDED. Just time your bolts so you could hit them as they land, and it'd launch them right back up. They had NO FUCKING CHANCE as soon as you got off the first bolt.

He actually had an Infinite off his "Control Orb" if I remember correctly. Control Orb>drag em up as high as you can, as they fall > Control Orb. Rinse and Repeat.

I honestly haven't truly played an MK game since MK Trilogy for PS1, unless you count UMK3 on XBL. Although I did play MK4 I think for like a day (the first 3d looking one I think). So I'm not even really interested in this new one, but I'd probably check it out anyway at some point.

Since the link is up there already... I thought I'd like to say that the site is now actually open.

There are five characters so far to look at (Scorpion, Sub Zero, Mileena, Raiden and Shao Kahn) with a sixth under wraps for the site (Rumor has it that he or she will be revealed on GameTrailers). You get an image and a short bio on each character.

Another neat feature is user interactivity. This feature is focused in the Kombat Chat... Once you join the discussion boards (Which isn't active yet), the more you talk about your favorite character, the stronger he or she becomes and if he or she is number 1 at the end of the countdown, new content is unveiled for the winning character.
