Mightfo Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 Hey guys, I'm new to BB and was referred here by a friend. Do you guys have weekly meet-ups or is it random? We typically have them once a week around the weekend. Are you closer to Richardson, or Arlington? You could also have "random" meetups with anyone who is nearby, just contact them. ^NaCl Sodium chloride? O_o doesn't seem like such a face.
General_Tobias Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 we still need to meet up for some gg gamez man lol. me and the other gg player from arlington will find some time though. I am very bad at arranging things via text (including online messaging, forum posts, any form of communication that includes readable words.) this has been proven with past personal experiences. I also have little concept of long term time though I will try to remember to hit you up at some point. Do let me know next time a group of you guys are meeting up though. I'm basically looking for excuses to drive up to Denton, given that I lived there for a while during my misadventures attending UNT. (That and driving to denton is easier than driving to richardson for my normal thing with mightfo!!!!) Do you know anyone else up there who plays regularly? Basically just trying to figure out if there's anyone up there doing (semi)regular meetups.. How funny I usually look for excuses to go to Fort Worth. I am not aware of anyone else who plays regularly in Denton but I also don't know a lot of gamers and the ones I do know don't play fighting games much (except brawl but that can't be considered a traditional fighter as much as it is a party fighter (mix of party game and fighting game)). Valkenhayn supposedly will be released later on 360 than ps3. Then again, they said the same thing about makoto, so lol besides who cares about a demi-Slayer when etrian odyssey 3 comes out tuesday lame this is how they reward fans who bought and Xbox to get GG2 instead of a PS3 for a better D-pad, Though you have to admit having a demi-Slayer is better than a kawai loli-mage (as if I didn't get enough of that in Arcana Heart, EFZ, Vanguard Princess, Touhou Hisoutensoku, ECT....).
RaveSage Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Though you have to admit having a demi-Slayer is better than a kawai loli-mage (as if I didn't get enough of that in Arcana Heart, EFZ, Vanguard Princess, Touhou Hisoutensoku, ECT....). Don't put down lolis! In other news, I saw someone today in my english class viewing DL. If he hasn't posted here already I'll get him too soon enough~

Eh, I just assume it's a normal mistake. Besides, we got Makoto and all the other stuff earlier. Despite Valk being cooler, I'm more excited about Plat because she's more likely to have crazy mechanics like Robo-ky, A.B.A, etc. Although, despite not having a nice rekka or teleport-dash like slayer, judging from that recent Valk vid, valk might have good potential for resets, and an instant overhead that he can combo into his Dandy super. His wolf mobility seems really good, too.

So how do these gatherings work? Does someone just post up on the forums?
Ronin Jinobi Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 yup or you could just text/call us and see what's up. That's how me and cheebz roll anyways (lololol late night shenanigans)
Mightfo Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 Did any of you Dallas guys contact shadowlan? I'm sort of in the middle of the two since I live in Irving, but I'm a few minutes closer to Arlington. So how do these gatherings work? Does someone just post up on the forums? Yeah. I'll typically post when I'm gonna host a meetup, and sometimes text people. Ronin generally does the same. I wont be able to host anything this week, though. Ask other dallas people or ronin if they're up for something this week.
Mightfo Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 blame geology and historical inquiry i will do my best to try to secure the following saturday OSO WHY DONT YOU BOTHER EVERYONE IN DALLAS TO SEE WHO ELSE CAN HOST MEETUPS so that everyone is not reliant on me and we don't get fucked when there's more than 9 people at once which wouldnt work well in my place >:o
RaveSage Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I'll try calling Shadowlan today since I don't have that much work. Any questions in particular you want me to ask aside from how setting up consoles there works?
Mightfo Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Shadowlan is $6 an hour..i'm assuming per person. If we had 6 people for 3 hours, that's $108. If it's not per person, it's $18 for a 3 hour thing, which is somewhat reasonable. Meh.

Hahaha, grass is greener. There's definitely more stuff in Fort Worth, but Denton feels much nicer to me because it's smaller. The traffic here pisses me off :| humm. Well, I know there has to be people at UNT playing it, it's just a matter of finding said people! I guess just keep poking around here, I'll probably bark about it in this thread if I ever find someone.

Did you ever contact that guy on facebook from UNT who organized the tournies, the Noah guy, jin player?
TransientFaith Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 About the Shadowlan thing, it's pretty reasonable to assume that its $5/6 per person on weekday/weekends respectively.
Exceed^ Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Here are the prices for the ShadowLan Gaming Center if anyone is interested. http://shadowlangaming.com/prices/ Not bad IMO... but :\
cheebz Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Don't put down lolis! it can't be helped. also i'm getting homeboy from texas bar fights to multi-mod my stick. this guy says he can do it in one day with supreme precision given he has the time. for $100 and the parts alone are close to that. ronin you comin to the pool hall today?
Mightfo Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 ~$100 per weekend isn't really justified when we'd just need them for a little more space/to not be bound by one person's schedule.
TransientFaith Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 If other people don't mind getting parking passes you could try doing some sort of setup at UTD in like the comet cafe. I'm pretty sure no one there really minds...
Mightfo Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 butts? where'd you go last meetup anyway If other people don't mind getting parking passes you could try doing some sort of setup at UTD in like the comet cafe. I'm pretty sure no one there really minds... Ah, actually, there's these social centers for the waterview apartments, and I think University Village has the same sort of things. I think they have TVs. Those may be what we need. Do you live at one of the apartments, Transient?
TransientFaith Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Yeah, I live in phase 6. Not too fond of the apartment/resident areas for parking reasons. The TV lounge is kinda open tho, as long as what you put on the TV doesn't require royalties.
cheebz Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 where'd you go last meetup anyway my apologies mightfo, i should've let you guys know i wasn't planning on coming after all. i believe i was running on 1/4 teaspoon of gasoline that weekend soon enough we will have another nice big meetup
Ronin Jinobi Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 yo blakezorz i am at uta heading towards pool hall to see if anyone's playing if not just hit me up mang edit: also I'm just gonna leave this up here
