yes, the arcade version isnt as fast, so it takes me a slight bit getting used to whenever I play AC on console again. Once you play it for a bit you get used to it again but its a little disorienting at first

Thanks. Also, How much faster would you say the difference is? All I see is youtube.

I have no idea about actual number statistics or anything. Its just a noticeable difference when you go from one to another. Im sure other people have experienced this as well. Why do you ask?

Some of the guys I hang out with brought it up. In turn, I got curious. Also, thanks for answering my questions.

Mike, I'm not going to tell you how to run your life. I'm no longer over there and don't claim to know much about what is going on, other than what I read in your blog. That said, I think your body is seriously trying to tell you something. I don't know what is alcohol-related and what isn't, but you're going to have to cut down on the drinking if you care about your health and don't want more of these weird episodes of feeling awful. I don't think you should stop going to Current, or Izakaya and the like, but you're going to have to use some willpower and hold back. I want you to be in good shape so you can keep doing what you love doing and also marry the girl that you love. That's all. Please take care.

I'm gonna second Honnou's advice. I know it's not cool when people tell you to do less of something you enjoy, but from the sound of it, it's having serious side-effects on your health. My cousin passed away this month from a preventable medical condition, so the least you should do is see a doctor and have a check-up.

Of course I agree 100%. The only reason I drank so long last Friday was cuz I didnt play any games that night. Normally I wouldnt go drinking till after 12, and its never been a problem on regular nights like that. I plan to do much less drinking and much more playing now that SBO is coming up soon. That was just a special circumstance for Emmets birthday. I actually wasnt gonna do much drinking at all the next day cuz of Gods Garden but by then it was too late, heh. Thanks for the concern though. Im much more in the mood to play right now than drink anyway.

Yeah Mike please take care of your health when you are still young, if not it will come back to haunt you when you grow older. Doing away with snus is probably good for you as well.

Is Maruken a teacher or a professor? Whenever I watch his matches on Nicovideo, there are always tons of comment saying "Maruken-sensei" flying past.

Thats probably just because he is viewed as one of the best Baikens, but who knows. This does, however, remind me of how Gin is a scientist:keke: Alos, lol at you guys getting Kebabs all the time now. My influence is a force to be feared I guess.

Baiken is Faust's hardest matchup? I certainly would never have guessed that.

I also enjoyed how you indicated your composure when up against so many hard fights Maruken, and I applaud you on that. Getting pissed/angry/etc. solves nothing; only a cool head and steady nerves prevail. This is something I live by and wish a lot of people in the fighting game community could realize. Yes you lost a lot but you learned a lot and that is what makes you a superior player.

Baiken is not necessarily Faust's hardest matchup as far as official ranking/whatever goes. According to Maruken, the matchup is 6/4 Baiken. I asked him. However, its just my PERSONAL hardest matchup because the way I play usually involves trying to lock people down with as much garbage and pokes as possible combined with intuitive zoning, but since Baiken has her instant counters anytime you hit her with anything that is blocked, it completely changes the way I have to play compared to most matchups. Thats also sorta the reason why I always hated May, because she can just jump out of almost anything and the way she moves and with her jump combined with hit box, lots of my stuff always whiffs. This is a similar problem but much different in many ways. In any case, I feel better about it now and I want to play the matchup more this weekend. Hopefully some good Baikens will be at Mikado. I know nothing about Maruken being an actual teacher, I didnt ask him his occupation lol. But yea Gin the Slayer is infact a scientist for real haha Matt, the Kebab thing is kinda a collective influence, everyone is just fiending for them lately, and at least they are better and probably healthier than McDonalds all the time :P

man, I dont even remember. He told me this like well over a year ago or more. I havnt even seen him since last years SBO qual season but if I had to guess I would say hes a scientist of jacking people's turn to play next at the arcade :keke:

You should teach your brother the ways of the gear. Also, it's plausible that I may get a job in the Tokyo area within the year. May not be able to play games immediately when I'm there though, because I might have to hit the nihongo books super hard. Also, it's kind of a long shot, so I probably shouldn't even be saying anything about it at the moment.

I've always been curious about the unspoken rule on rematching in arcade boxes. In your blog you sometimes have back-and-forth sets between you and another player, does that mean that there aren't other people in line or something?

I mean, when me and my friends play, we usually have the loser step down, unless a rematch is demanded (which happens more and more often now, lol).

So basically, how does it work over in Japan's arcades?

well as of now, Mikado has 9 AC cabs. Usually if someone is waiting by a cab to play and you get up, they get on and they play. in the instances where I play one player multiple times in a row, usually it means no one is waiting to play on my specific cab and there are enough other cabs for people to play on. I always do get up and stand for a few seconds after losing. if no one else gets on right away or is standing right by the cab I just got up from, I will go back on. maybe there are times if I was to wait for like a few minutes, someone else might jump on, but if no one is directly waiting to play behind me and there are plenty of other cabs with comp for them to play on, i dont wait around too long to get back on. There are plenty of times though when I wanted to rematch someone but another guy would get on. usually if thats the case, if I really want the rematch i just wait till their match is over and hope the guy who got on after me loses. otherwise I might try to beat the guy who beat the guy who beat me in the first place for revenge for beating him which prevented me from my rematch, in hopes that maybe the original guy will get back on (awsome sentence!).

got it?
