I do remember noticing in training that the cancel was difficult for some reason. Close D > far D > super is tough too. My pad is a bit busted however.

Cheap as fuck against slow players, and since everyone plays Iori here for some ungodly reason, they just Blue Blossom their asses into my lazers or my raging Shiki. On another note, does anyone ever play the emo, K'?

purify Posted March 11, 2008 Author Posted March 11, 2008 No... NGBC K' sucks. Yeah. He's not the worst in the game, but he doesn't have much going for him that other characters don't do better. I thought all K' sucks, but everyone around always plays as him, confuses me. Yuki isn't all that bad though, lasers are still cheap as fuck. K' certainly hasn't always sucked, he's much better in XI. And yeah, Yuki is generally considered worse than K'. There's very little he can do outside of charged moves, and some characters will never give you the chance to do that. all of his combos that do any damage are situational and of course require said charge. Shiki, on the other hand...I play her with Mai. She's not bad, but she's not really quite one of the good characters. If the person you're fighting can block and knows how to punish with guard cancels, you basically have to poke and hope you get lucky/punish something and get the grab reset right and hope your mixup works after it. Or you could just block and then run at her and throw like Justin Wong did to me lol. He said it was like fighting Magneto.

purify Posted March 12, 2008 Author Posted March 12, 2008 Kyo is good in this game...and I get to fight a very, very good Kyo pretty often. His meterless damage is great, so are his DA combos. I would even say that Kyo/Iori is the best "pre-made" team in the game. Not saying too very much since most of the other ones are terrible. Let me rate those while I'm at it shrug lol: Kyo/Iori Robert/Karate (about as good, maybe better) Kaede/Moriya (better imo only because Fuuma sucks) Hanzou/Fuuma Terry/Rock Yuki/Ai I think that's it. Chonrei/Chonshu? ew. On an unrelated note, I like the art for this game. I went through the galleries again the other day, I just wish you could look at the win quote pictures there as well as the ending pics without having to sit through the story part/skip credits etc.

It took me a while to figure out NGBC Kyo's new rekkas -> EXPLODE until I realized you can just mash it as fast as possible to make it work.

Anyway I just tested Kyo out and you can still land 3 dp+As regardless of whether or not you do the explosion finish. So you can end his rekkas with the kick and still juggle. Pretty much you can land 3 dp+As off any launcher he has save for his HCB+B. HCB+B I was only able to land two.
