AlwaysDizzy Posted November 28, 2007 Posted November 28, 2007 Yeah, it's not easy though. You can SC the second hit of QCB+A to the A version of lightsaber, but it does significantly less damage than SCing first hit to the C version. The first hit of QCB+A is the only one that gives enough stun to combo the C version, but it must be SCed immediately in order to combo, which is why it's kind of difficult at first. Thats the basic combo right there with the A lightsaber, But from time to time I like to mix up and go for command grab and if the person reads it then I DP.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted November 29, 2007 Posted November 29, 2007 The A lightsaber combo doesn't do enough damage to justify the 2 levels of meter, though. Definitely worth learning the timing for C lightsaber on first hit of QCB+A.
Necrosis Posted November 30, 2007 Posted November 30, 2007 Mizuchi throw super is really freaking good. It's a command grab that does the job a counter super does at the same time. It's like, zoning zoning zoning grab zoning etc. I wish I knew Blade, I preordered mine and it got delayed once I did. :V
purify Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 If anybody went to NEC, I was the guy playing Mai/Shiki. Blake/T. Beast had Robert/Kim.
Special-K- Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Come play my Yuki~ I'll beat people down and mostly die trying.
purify Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Why do so many people play Yuki and Rock. They're popular for no reason.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Fanboyz~ I like Rock for the fact that he has badass combos off of Shinkuu Nage and especially in the corner using D-Assaults. But everything else about the character is terrible. Yuki just sucks.
Hatred Edge Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I actually wanted to play Yuki too.... My man Asura is in this and I hear he's not too good.
purify Posted December 4, 2007 Author Posted December 4, 2007 Rock juggles are fun and cool, yeah, but the best combo I ever see anybody do is like cr.C > C hard edge. I can understand people fanboying over Rock, he's a cool character from a cool game, but Yuki...shrug? Somebody should pick up Ai for once. She's an interesting charactere and no one plays her, definitely better than Yuki imo.
zer0kage Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 I actually wanted to play Yuki too.... My man Asura is in this and I hear he's not too good. He's played as if he's in a Samurai Shodown game or something.
Necrosis Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Ai is better than Yuki but honestly I think she's just too limited to be any good. Tetris blocks are funny though.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 Ai has one thing going for her (shooter super loop in the corner), outside of that she is terrible like almost everyone else in this game.
CrimsonDisaster Posted December 5, 2007 Posted December 5, 2007 It's really funny how divided this game is... the good characters are all really good and the bad characters are all varying degrees of awful. Some of the characters that might have been okay otherwise are terrible because the good characters are in the game.
Special-K- Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Yuki hate is not allowed. Stop hating on my character!
Hatred Edge Posted December 7, 2007 Posted December 7, 2007 Yuki hate is not allowed. Stop hating on my character! Then why does your AV have Kyo Kusanagi in it and not Yuki? Ashamed much?
purify Posted December 7, 2007 Author Posted December 7, 2007 SIECLAYTON was teaching him some top tierest Kyo stuff recently, hopefully he retained some of that and is practicing it. Kyo has pretty nice meterless combos and great D Assault setups. I thought I was going to start playing Mai/Iori, but I've been doing better with Shiki lately now that I've figured out some resets/mixups. I actually thought I played better with her than with Mai at NEC.

Some of the characters that might have been okay otherwise are terrible because the good characters are in the game. This... this actually sums it up pretty well... huh. I mean, I'd personally say it's more of a "crappy characters, characters that are slightly worse than the good ones, and the good characters" thing, but that's pretty much right.
testament101 Posted December 9, 2007 Posted December 9, 2007 ok...I got a question...I've been asking around... What's more "broke" KOF XI or NGBC? one person said NGBC...If that's true...then why is the triad trying to get people to play BC instead of KOF XI?
Necrosis Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 IMO, they're both actually sort of balanced, except that NGBC has some REALLY shitty characters, like Yuki and Nakoruru or something, and XI has Gato being completely stupid and otherwise not TOO much wrong with it, except maybe a couple of less good characters, like Momoko. And as far as getting people to play NGBC, I think it's that NGBC is really underappreciated compared to XI. I really don't think either game is THAT bad in terms of balance, by the way. If down to D tier is remotely practical, I'm fine with that. As far as I can tell, it is in both. Look at DarkGeese's Athena and Tung in NGBC, and the character usage in SBO for XI, where some D and C tiers show up in there quite a bit.
testament101 Posted December 10, 2007 Posted December 10, 2007 I don't play NGBC enough to judge it...KOF XI I just like more...but then again...I judge games I like on whether or not I find a character that I happen to find cool or something to that respect...which in NGBC it would Iori+Terry. Not that I know how to play with them or anything it's just I don't see them much in vids for that game...maybe Kyo+Iori...I see enough of them in vids...but I don't exactly like Kyo
purify Posted January 2, 2008 Author Posted January 2, 2008 SRK is the place for info on this game, seems to be more interest in it now than ever. still free money for NC at whatever major it's at lolz Speaking of Kaede, cr.C > command throw is just...why? You can just qcbC to level 2 for more damage after hitting with that. I guess the command throw combo is easier, but...yeah, what.
TITANIUM BEAST!!! Posted January 2, 2008 Posted January 2, 2008 Both games are pretty messed up. Your preference between the two will likely have more to do with which style of gameplay you prefer. NGBC is more Capcom-ish and slower-paced at times. KOF XI is aggressive, rush-rush and super-high-damage combos.
Tiamat Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 this game is fun so I'm thinking ill get into it a bit, still need to go pick up a copy somewhere lol played the game about 2 years ago but the load times on the JP version are so horrible that I didn't want to buy it largely cause of that if nothing else (I know that's shallow but it was pretty inexcusable). US ver load times are not nearly as bad, still some pretty horrible slowdown at a couple stages. but yeah it's cheap and stuff so im planning to get it soon probably gonna use genjuro/iori mostly. i like lotsa chars in this though so who knows. I'll give Ai a try too
Hatred Edge Posted January 3, 2008 Posted January 3, 2008 Don't bother with Ai. She's terrible. I play this too. It's fun. Nice teams you can form in this game. That's my problem right there. My main teams are: Kyo/Robert and Mai/Hanzo. Then I also play: Fuma/K'/Yuki.
