His pressure is actually better, looking at his frame data. Lots of little changes you don't notice in match, but stuff like 2B being level 2 now (which means at certain ranges it's basically unpunishable) makes a difference. A attacks are level 1, so they're neutral on block and IB nerf means they're only -3 even if you IB them. 5C is actually SAFER and is only 1 frame slower, etc etc.

There's nothing broken though. Just solid stuff. Combine that with his lowered damage and you have a recipe for a pretty mediocre character.

Re, Carl, you'd better get really good at protecting Nirvana, that's all I'm gonna say. Cheese happens once you get in, but you gotta get in first, and that's hard when Nirvana has no health. I'm sure he's still good, just, I don't see broken anymore. Silly, yes. But not broken.

Fair enough.

As for Ragna with his improved pressure (especially with Hell's Fang startup decrease) I see myself having to block more often and will probably have my primers broken more. I always hated Ragna pressure. Its annoying if anything.

I though Nirvana's health was gonna be a real problem. It kind of is. But the saving grace is Carl being able to do 3K by himself and using nirvana at a minimum. His new jump loop (as stupid as it is) saves nirvana's meter. Plus since his Gear super is faster and he can combo it from just about anything that will by more time for her to heal. But regardless. I think they over did her meter consumption and defense. =[

I don't see how you can hate Ragna pressure. Seriously. It mentally takes a ton of work (this is the downside of playing a "simple" character, your tools are easier to use, but they aren't as good, so strategy gets more difficult) and the reward tends to be mediocre because of how hard it is to actually hit someone with that fucker in a game like BB. Compare this to training-mode Carl, who is quite literally a training-mode character, complete with unblockables. There is no point in a match between us where I get to have the fun you get to have with Carl, because I CANNOT pressure you. So how is Ragna pressure annoying? You just block it, look for the throw, look for opportunity to jump out/backdash/Vivace/spam crouch A.

I really just don't get it. You regularly play characters where almost all the work is done outside of the actual match and once you get your setup, it seems like autopilot. And yet, my "fair" characters have annoying pressure? Explain, please.

My bad I was misleading. I know Ragna's pressure isn't good. I've been telling other people that for quite a few months. When I said annoying, I didn't necessarily mean good.

Honestly it comes from fighting Leonil's Ragna online. He has a good Ragna and although I can handle him now, he use to make me rage with his Ragna (his hakumen even more). He had decent frametraps that I wasn't use to, tick-airthrow setups (if I anticipated the grab he would just DP me and RC it for safety or to continue to combo me if it hit), the occasional random full screen Gauntlet Hades which I never see coming, j.C land 6B overhead (you don't know how good this is against me), and close range IAD DP crossups (I saw Kaqn do that buppa quite a few times and it blew my mind, then Leo did it to me =/...)

I'm use to your Ragna and playstyle. But as straight forward as Ragna is sometimes I have to get use to my opponent's Ragna playstyle before I know how to beat them. You play Ragna pretty honestly. Leo doesn't. But since I fight you guys so often I know where in your pressure you both tend to go for your mixups. The next Ragna I fight, not so much, and I have to rely purely on reaction. But eventually I will learn their playstyle. In the end I can agree that its Ragna's fault.

I say this all not denying the BS that is Carl. I will tell anyone and anywhere that Carl is unfair and complete BS. I think his character design is stupid. I knew it would be. That's why I picked him during CT before there were any vids of him (that and Nirvana looked so cool).

To sum things up: You know that feeling of anger you get when you get randomed out by somebody who is not good? Ragna players can give me those feelings.

This thread gets revived over Austin and Blake talking about what looks to be another boring installment of the BlahBlue series. I'm not touching this game lol. I've learned my lesson.

That's cool man. If you enjoy it, then by all means play it. Me? I'd rather be forced to watch a slideshow of Dark Geese's Facebook pics.

I have faith in CS2. BB is on the right track. only 1-2 more revisions until it grows into its potential. On a side issue: I WANT MY PLATINUM DLC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh cool, hey Blake can you tell me on what frame Carl's 236236D super becomes active? Carl players are using it alot now as a reversal super since the super will come out even if Carl is hit before the super flash. I think it was like that CS but Carl's gear super was still better at the time.

Carl frame data not up yet? Hrm. Well, Carl's supers are a bit harder to understand, but if I understand it right, it's frame 33. The super hits on frame 17 after Nirvana starts moving.
