You're near Cary, you should have some people there. Not sure about who from this thread, but last I checked LingMassacre was residing in Cary on SRK.

But since you're also near Raleigh you're in luck.

Also I remember your XBL, I think I fought your Tager back in CS1.

Hope it wasn't my terribad Trollger.

Yeah, we just don't have anybody really hosting or trying to get anything rolling with BB or GG right now. People are mostly focused on KOF/SFxT/UMvC3 right now. I would like to play CSE, though. Wish I could host here...

I wouldn't mind hosting, but I dunno if anyone would be willing to come here. If anyone would like to, I'll try and get snacks and drinks together for an occasion.

I'd be down for that. On the matter of hosting in the Raleigh area for BB, I could've sworn that RoboCurse or someone around here went to NC State. If that's the case, the Wolves' Den should almost always be open on Saturdays. If not him, I'm almost positive DJ_Blactricity goes to State, but at the same time I've never seen him post in the thread :(. It sucks, I actually want to get better now, but I'm in Greensboro at the moment. If I was at State this semester, this wouldn't be much of a problem.

Well if people like you are interested then PM me, I'll give details. My apartment really isn't that big but I'm sure that we can fit some people in here. I'm not expecting big crowds anyway. Since I'm unemployed, I don't have anything going on right now, and my brother works from 3PM to 3AM. He's off every other weekend usually. Since its his apartment, I asked him and he said he was fine with that. Just make sure that you give me time to get the place ready before then (sometimes the kitchen and bathrooms are a mess).

On the matter of the times, usually people aren't around in the day, most people work variable shifts on base, so for the most part the apartments are empty most of the day. But I'd try to stay out of their parking spots. In terms of games just play or bring what you want. Since TitaniumBeast says theres a lack of stuff going on for BlazBlue, I'd try to make that a priority. Personally I'm horrible at the game but I'd like to learn by playing with people offline. Also I am looking forward to Skullgirls, so if people want to play that too thats a plus in my book. I also own a PS2 and Guilty Gear for those guys to play. Most of my fighters are on the Xbox 360 though, so you might want to bring your PS3s. I have a TV in my room, one downstairs, a spare monitor, and an old CRT that lies around. As far as sticks go, bringing an extra wouldn't be a bad idea.

As far as rules go, the complex doesn't allow smoking indoors. My brother and I don't care what people do, just don't trash the place or go in his bedroom. Also don't spill anything on the carpet. We'll try and get stuff for you guys like food, beer, and soda if you all want. I can't do that every time but I'll try to when I can. I'll have to find a good day of the week that suits people. The weekends are best for my since my brother would prefer he be here when people come over (I guess he wants to make sure he can trust new people).

Just to say it again, I live in Goldsboro, so thats an hour drive for most.

Ah, I see. Guess I was mistaken.

I'd be willing to go to Mr. Kimura's place, but that's roughly a 5 hour round trip for me coming from Greensboro which would really hurt my pockets at the moment. If possible, driving to Raleigh and then catching a ride with someone from their would work best. But yeah, weekends aren't a problem for me as well and would be ideal. Those were my main concerns.

I also tried getting in touch with DJ to see if I was interested in doing something a little closer to home. It'd be nice to actually seem some regular BB in the area.

Edit: I've been meaning to ask, how are Jon's gatherings?

They're great... if you like KOF and Umvc3. Pretty much the only way we are goin to get blazblue goin is if someone brings a setup. I know Armando plays blazblue but everyone is in love with KOF right now.

I would host but I'm deaf and new people are difficult for me to interact with, pretty much a communication block straight off the bat until I get used to how people speak and people have to get used to me speaking. I also have zero setups and I think my main tv is laggy but I can't tell.

Ah, I had a feeling that was the case. That's why even when I was in Raleigh, I found it difficult to go to the gatherings since BB was the only game I was interested in. I'll still be playing BB as my main game, but KOF is probably the only popular game I'd be willing to legitimately try right now since I've lost interest in Capcom games. It's a toss up since you can either bring a setup and give the game exposure at the risk of being drowned out completely, or have a completely separate gathering that would appeal to people genuinely interested in the game that would benefit everyone more overall. The game has come a long way since CT, but whether it will grow anymore depends on whether NC's opinion on BB is set in stone at this point (which unfortunately is the most likely case).

At this point no one (in NC specifically) has a bad taste in there mouth about BB. Its just that they would rather play something else. As for the rest us. We're too small or spreadout to meet. If you can bring a setup to John's place (this includes a monitor or tv) then everybody make it a priority to go.

Yo dudes. Newbie to the site and first time poster here. Mulattoman's the name (or you can call me Patches) hailing from the fayetteville area of NC. I'm looking to meet people for BB as well as GG and Skullgirls. Not sure what you guys got planned but feel free to hit me up.

I'm actually based out of Sanford, but I'm really close to Fayetteville.

Fayetteville is quite the drive to make for me. If you can visit me in Goldsboro that'd be nice. I don't have a car right now, since I don't have one just yet. If you wanna play Skullgirls, BlazBlue, or even Guilty Gear thats fine by me.

Also welcome to the site, hope you're here to stay.

Thanks bro. I have to wait for this semester to end before I take on big trips. And I do plan on staying on the site. I've been roaming around learning all the lingo and strategy building tips.

I do not know if this thread is still active or not. But I'm going to be moving to Fayette Ville North Carolina arriving around the 27th of the month. I've never been here before so I'm looking to meet people. I'm 24 and my main game is BB but I play SFIV as well. I'll play anything as long as I Have people to play with. I've been an active member and TO in the Northern California scene for BB (whether they wanted my help or not :P )

Whatsup. NC's fighting game scene is very active. Just not on dustloop, but SRK. Hopefully things will change here at DL since more GG info has been announced. I moved to Atlanta, GA but if no one can guide you to players here checkout the NC thread at SRK.

Anyways lets talk GG,

Is anybody excited or nervous about the changes. I know I'm both. =/ I'm scared of what they're gonna do to Zappa's dog.

Charge gauge decreases more slowly when high level moves are used. Level 2 moves getting some pretty big buffs (lvl2 Blockhead wall stick, lvl2 Bandit Revolver slide down). DI only costs 50% bar. Yeah, I'm happy.

Posted

Yeah I think that little addition to Ky is kind of hilarious. I really need to sit down and study everyones changes.

Posted

So if it makes anybody feel better, if the Zappa's dog is hit while in a neutral state then it will go to sleep. That means not more turtling while you're doing a block string on me, amongst other stupid things that I could do.

We had some casuals going at WNB this past Wednesday, there's still a handful of people who like it. I played for the first time in months and actually enjoyed myself, but of course, Extend Ragna is silly, so that was probably a given.
