Trying to defend it 24/7 really gets you nowhere in the longrun. Especially when you're playing bright vibrant anime fighters like BB/AH/MB. Hell we bitch about SF4 all the time while we're playing it. and in all honesty, I could bring BB everytime I come up wed but what's the point? when I bring my 360, I plan to play something I want to on it, not to just let BB sit there for people to derp around on and never play. It's better off being a KoF2002UM setup.
4r5 Posted January 30, 2011 Author Posted January 30, 2011 If I wasn't always carrying two bags so Steve H can play some GG, I'd be bringing a 2k2um setup. Though, AH3 is out now, and that's too many games dividing my time. So once again, KOF gets pushed aside for another game that more people will play. SNK, why can't you plan your releases more strategically? Seems like we won't be seeing any new fighting games from SNK, so 2k2um might get another window of opportunity in a few years. LoL.

If you all don't see the value of playing your game at Xanadu, then you guys don't see the value of letting other people see you playing the game. When I first came to UMBC, I was deep in to GG. I didn't want to training mode this game forever. I was going to play other people. I heard there was a gameroom, figure that's where I gotta play. Went up and it was Tekken central. Three TVs of Tekken's, with atleast four people waiting at each TV. So of course I played some Tekken. But when there was a TV free, I hopped out of line and went to practice some GG. For awhile I was that guy that practices GG. Did that for a few weeks, then DizzDan found me there, and for the next few weeks we were those two guys that play GG. Third guy caught us while we were playing Soul Calibur, but you see where I'm getting at here? You know why Xanadu Wednesdays are on Wednesdays? Cause it was born from the huge GG sessions that happened in UMBC's gameroom every Wednesday night. You can't make it up to Xanadu? That's understandable. Price of crude oil just went up cause people mad in Egypt. But you all got this thread. You all should use this thread. Had a good session, be like, "Yo, good sessions last night." You could even plan your sessions in this thread. (But beware of fighting games.) Hell, played some online matches? Then you can come in here and say, "Yo, Taokaka on blast! Shout outs to free throws!" Two some months ago there was a guy who chimed in. Was like, "Do you guys play BB? I'm gonna be in town for a week, where do I got o get some BB games in?" No one could help him.

Because at the end of the day, it's boring. Why in the hell would I want to sit down and play it when Melty Blood and Arcana are in the same room and are far more interesting experiences? I don't know about you, but I'm actually trying to move forward with my life, and as as one gets older, time is ever-increasingly more urgent. I don't have all day erry day to play games like I did when I was 20. So why spend it playing an unfulfilling experience like BlazBlue when I can play games that are actually meaningful? Also, you have easily typed 500 words in defense of BlazBlue in the last two days? I think it's safe to say, U mad. Do you know how much shit I, MD, and the rest of Dustloop got from the likes of Pat Van Pelt, N-Ken, and the rest of the SRK crew before BB was a twinkle in your eye and anyone knew the infamy of your name? Btw, I don't know how you niggas carry it in the street (I'm from the burbs), but 'infamy' is not a compliment. It actually means, "Well known and not liked". It you wanna be compare to the like of Pol Pot and Milosevic then be my guest, but don't be surprised when erryone hates you. Trust me, you may feel vindicated now but there is no greater Hell on Earth than that. Anyway, the point is we were perceptive enough to understand that these jabs weren't serious and to be taken in good spirits. This is the way the fighting game community has always operated: the OGs are haters (I guess in the age of SFIV I qualify as one; feels weird...). The moment you took my posts srsly is the very moment you lost. This is the Internet, an ocean of piss, and I merely had a full bladder. You know the one thing I would never do? Troll an IRL BB meet, because if you have the numbers to show, then at the very least you deserve the respect of playing in peace. If you or any other player can't take my "BB sucks; play GG" posts then perhaps you weren't ready to roll with the rest of MD, because if you don't hear it from me, you will hear it in some shape or form from Matt, Rei, Pat, Seth, Press, Mike, Little Steve, Steve H, Shazay, Gunburi, Jeff, Tarnish, Kenji, DizzDan, or literally ANY of the pre-BB players in the area. And most of them won't show you the courtesy of keeping it online. And whether or not you can beat them with Rachel (which all things considered, I do have some respect for), they have proven themselves, and know what a proper game looks like. BlazBlue is nothing that the community hasn't seen before. Its roots can be seen in the likes of Guilty, and Melty, and most of us can make a judgment on that based on what we've played before. For all the jokes people made about SFIV "flowcharts", BB follows that to a tee. To be good at the game everyone is forced to play strictly by flowcharts. All players are homognized into a boring singularity. Compare this to Guilty Gear, where players like Isa, Kishitaka, Mouse, and Kusoru (forgive me for my limited knowledge of players; I only play Sol) play the same character in unique and interesting ways. If you don't see the point I'm trying to make, along the lines you will. As for the personal hate everyone's posted, take it like this: don't let it get to you, and don't let it remain on Dustloop; use it as a drive, a motivator and become the best motherfucker the United States... No, the world has ever seen. Prove us all wrong! I don't even mean that sarcastically. I want to see you and everyone in this fuckin thread become the best of the best. I may personally never be at that level, but I want to see some good fuckin shit from all of you! Alex, despite everything said here I bear no ill will toward you (It was actually kind of fun for me lol). In fact, I hope you do improve in GG; the US needs more Bridgets. I still play it every once and a while and don't randomly come in telling people they just don't understand the high level of the game. It is what it is. CALM DOWN Also you can compare GG with BB cause BB is just a watered down GG. They have all the same mechanics but easier combos and you don't ever need to bock. Well hardly.

He brings up people to xanadu and sits down with them to play/teach BB. I know how I personally feel about the game but I completely support Alex trying to push and grow his game's scene. If wolf guy was god tier I'd probably be looking at the game but honestly I know I'd fight a litchi or a bang and just complain bitterly and be very very salty. 2 Games I wish I played more but don't. People pressing buttons and doing long ass combos, but not as big as HnK. Also Robert's car needs to be it's own regional thread. So much shit happens in there.
