Hamhuis, Hodgson, Higgins, Hansen, and.... Henrik i guess

The new Canucks super formation: HHHHH or 5H

If Henrik and Jannik Hansen double-shift as Daniel comes on, with another pair switching for Samuelsson and Salo for the deadly combo of 5H 2S 3H 2S

Posted

jannik hansen is clearly a j.H

kesler was starting combos for the canucks all yesterday night. K too good

so close we can taste that western conference final. kind of sad how ours is the most exciting series of round 2 by the simple fact that there will have to be a game 5.

Oh man Souten no Ken

Kenshiro gets KO'd by OG Raoh, but OG Raoh can't finish him off, because just like in HnK 2, the aura of the war god.

Pacquiao seems to have no relevant competition aside from Mayweather.

In fact, Pacquiao is more or less the ultimate face; the people's champ and everything. I almost get the feeling that if he were to be defeated, the economy of the Phillipines would drop preciptiously. Except for the liquor industry, I guess.

But Mayweather too busy fighting the law on minor felonies to bring real heel heat. I don't know if they're hatin or if Mayweather's ragin but at this rate he really is going to be caught riding dirty.

Recent KOF98FE (that's right, FE, not UM... how many versions does KOF have now?) tournament in Shinjuku featured the following ratio rules:

Ratio chart (max 6.5)

3

Eiji, Brian(Ex Step), Alt&Norm Mary, Iori(Run), Alt&Norm Yashiro, Heidern, Normal Kyo(Ex), Alt&Norm Ryo(Ex), Alt&Norm Yuri, Alt King, Kim (Ex Step), Choi, Alt&Norm Chris, Lucky(Ex), Alt&Norm Geese, Leona(Run), Alt Yamazaki(Ex), Chizuru, Alt Shermie

2.5

Iori (Step), Normal Kyo(Adv), Benimaru, Goro(Run), Alt&Norm Andy (Ex), Alt&Norm Ryo(Adv), Kim(excluding Ex Step), Mature, Vice(Ex), Normal Shermie, Normal King, Saishu(Ex), Brian(Ex Run or Adv Step), HeavyD, Krauser, Alt Yamazaki(Adv), Normal Yamazaki(Ex), Alt&Norm Mai, Athena (Adv), Leona (Step), Rugal. Alt Robert(Ex), Normal Joe(Ex)

2

Alt Kyo, Ralf, Kensou, Normal Yamazaki(Adv), Alt&Norm Billy, Lucky(Adv), Vice(Adv), Saishu(Adv), Big, Kasumi(Ex), Alt&Norm Andy(Adv), Goro(Step), Alt Robert(Adv), Athena(Ex), Normal Robert(Ex), Normal Joe(Adv), Alt Joe(Ex), Clark, Shingo

1.5

Alt&Norm Terry(Ex), Normal Robert(Adv), Chang(Ex), Chin(Ex), Kasumi(Adv), Takuma, Alt Joe(Adv)

1

Alt&Norm Terry(Adv), Chang(Adv), Chin(Adv), Brian(Adv Run)

You will note that EX Step Brian, which I built my entire KOF98UM team around, is somehow considered top tier for tournament.

Kyo's hits on block make this loud slapping sound as opposed to the usual wooden block sound. It's kind of strange.

IIRC the hit sounds were different for the 95 versions in UM so that probably carried over.

How does Terry sit in lowest tier? that's surprising to me. He was like the most braindead battery in the game.

Daimon being so mediocre is kinda disappointing.

I love how putting Step makes brian go from dead last to top ... but that doesn't make sense to me, I thought they removed dash overheads from the game?

Posted

Dash overheads were removed in 98UM, but not dash specials. So Brian can still do his Gamera impersonation.

Posted

Also, Brian(Ex Run or Adv Step) is in the 2nd tier... so it looks like if you can stock meter with Brian, or dash forwards with Brian, you're good, but if you can't do either you're SOL (and not Sol).

I was reading over changelog for FE and it seems the biggest thing was to make almost every standing C have bigger vertical hitboxes for hitting crouchers. While it is annoying that all of the low tier chars had horrible standing C's, I always thought that almost all of them could just use standing D or crouch C instead (albeit with much lower horizontal range).

WIth the new changes, everyone can do RUN STOP FIERCE now. Alternatively, STEP STOP FIERCE becomes a pretty powerful throw OS now too, for basically everyone in the cast.

Posted

Well, Ralf not being able to close C certain people (damn choi) was annoying as hell.

Lucky's low C is cancellable. l o l

Also a bunch of his special moves that looked scary but were actually unsafe/unreliable are now either safe/reliable. Of course, is top tier Lucky a cancer? only time will tell

I've decided on two things on my birthday

1) Learn to ride a motorcycle / get my motorcycle license

2) Go to Vancouver on May long weekend

Therefore... what are you doing that weekend Mike? Will you have time to show me your bike?? I need practice :D
