If there were any tournaments/players in Vancouver I would be down there in a heartbeat, but there isn't really. Some of you may wonder just what the difference is between an Ivy school, and, say, UBC (aside from the order of magnitude difference in endowment). Tonight, they reserved an entire Ikea store and chartered a continuous series of buses running just between it and the dorms for the students to buy stuff. EDIT: The "They" in the above sentence refers to the mysterious and powerful figures of UPenn that can do such things, and not, say, UBC.

Spinzaku Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 Wow, so there's gonna be a tournament tomorrow night in Burnaby.. that's very tempting. I haven't been practicing BBCS lately (GGAC+ lol) so I wonder if it's worth making the trip from Abbotsford. I know it's a bit short notice asking about equipment, but, are they going to be playing on a "huge HDTV" or will they actually have lagless monitors/CRTs and what not? I may come, depending on if I can find a reliable way around tomorrow. That in mind, I wish there was a larger BB community in the 604 area so I think that if we have plenty of people going it's a good start. I would say this is my only chance for a local tournament since I already have plans on visiting southwards next year.
Orikasa Posted September 4, 2010 Posted September 4, 2010 It's a big screen HDTV (42"...?) with, at most, bearable lag. I don't think it was completely lagless, but games were played out quite smoothly imo. I missed some shit, but that was probably just me dropping combos.

Either way it's probably similar to my 40" Samsung HDTV (lol game mode).. though I've recently started playing on an HD computer monitor. I'll probably come tomorrow, it's fairly close to the Royal Oak skytrain so getting there won't be a problem. Hopefully there will be some (post/pre-tournament) casuals too.

Superking™ Posted September 4, 2010 Author Posted September 4, 2010 I just got back from Machete, SOOOO AWESOME, Danny Trejo was too good, lololol Steven Seagal, the ORIGINAL DONJON, lots of titties (Alba/Lohan/randoms/etc.), action was insane, DeNiro was just Bobby as usual and Michelle Rodriguez was really hot even though she was once again the most manliest character again in the movie. Also Cheech was great too. Put it slightly ahead of Expendables.
