Sophisticat Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 ^ I don't have much exp with Guilty vs. real, live players (in fact, first time was just 3 days ago), but I'll answer anyway. :P Chun-li... Jam, maybe? Don't know either SF or GG, lol. But Haku == Slayer for sure, or is at least the closest. CH DOT is your Mugen, but it costs 50% meter instead. :P Also, I'd say Haku is hard only in terms of trying to get damage. Otherwise, he's easy, but his weaknesses put him firmly in the mid-to-hard to play characters. Imo, anyway. I doubt he's easier than Robo, though. I just can't see any BB character being harder than any of GG's cast.
huey253 Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 idk, its seems like alot of GG players want people to believe that its a mythical game that is super hard and doesn't compare to BB. but, i'm totally sure you could argue that there are a couple characters harder than pot, or may, etc...
DaiAndOh Posted September 14, 2010 Author Posted September 14, 2010 So if I wanted to play GG, which character would play most like Chun Li or Hakumen? I have to agree Hakumen kinda being a Slayer plus Axel. Axel has a strong neutral and poking game as well as counters. His counters aren't frame 1 or have as long active time in the case of 5d, and unlike Hakumen, he has strong anti-air, but not nearly as strong air to air. Like Slayer, he hits like a freight train going 100,000 MPH. And has dashes rather than running. DoT isn't Mugen....it's way better :D. The key difference I see is that Slayer has a strong game everywhere except at neutral while Neutral and zoning is one of Hakumen's strengths.
Ben Reed Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 GG's just a harder game in general mostly because it's double the speed, almost double the damage in half the time (on average), and half the untechable time on any hit you connect. Shit, I'm STILL hard pressed to get over 150 combo damage with anybody in GG not named Potemkin. I hope eventually to put enough time into the lab and casuals with the old Gear heads in my area to graduate to Solbot status from Potbot so as to play as a character who sounds more like Louis Armstrong (or Fat Albert).
ShoMeYaMoves Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I just got back from my birthday party and I'm really drunk but I have internet now and huey I picked up my psp when I got back and for some reason it was on chipp in training mode I guess my friend was playing on it or something while we were at my place and then I shat out a magnificent combo. I don't even know if it's cha specific, but I like it alot more than w/e I've seen samitto doing lately in terms of not requiring precise IAD. combo at least 2 hits into 2D>236S>late 6HS>alpha blade>followup. Does 170 on sol. In the corner or close you can 6HS>TK'd alpha into 5S>5HS>j.D or something. Full oki and monster damage without any tension use. It also replaces that old shitty RC everyone does, the whatever>236S>236S>RC>d.5S>5HS>236S>236S stuff since you can just whatever>236S>236S>RC>d.5S>2D>236S>6HS>alpha blade>followup for way better damage and actual oki. Ahhh that last glass just hit me good night
Reioumu Posted September 14, 2010 Posted September 14, 2010 I hope CS2 bang will be based more on getting seals and FRKZ What are you talking about? He's already about getting seals and doing 6-8k damage combos :V

If you need to, try basic Axl Bomber loop! Or some Slayer shenanigans. Presuming you have trouble with May's charge combos. huey253 Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 2D 236S 6HS never works, unless every hit is in counterhit state
ShoMeYaMoves Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 2D 236S 6HS never works, unless every hit is in counterhit state I'm sober now, it definitely works. I can make a quick vid of it if you want. edit: which cha were you trying it on?
DoomieJ Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 So if I wanted to play GG, which character would play most like Chun Li or Hakumen? No one. It's a good game. I'de say pick a character by design, then learn the gameplay. There is no other way of getting into GG.
DaiAndOh Posted September 15, 2010 Author Posted September 15, 2010 No one. It's a good game. I'de say pick a character by design, then learn the gameplay. There is no other way of getting into GG. Well true. I wanted to give him some idea, but notice how there's no definite solution. And Chun's gameplay changes too much between games anyway.
mAc Chaos Posted September 15, 2010 Posted September 15, 2010 Well to be specific I was thinking of SF2, Hyper Fighting. :P I know they're all so different though, that was one of the things that scared me away from GG back in the day. (That and the only thing I ever heard about it ever was that it was a Smash Bros clone on PS2 so I was like "nah I'll stick to real fighting games like SF" lol) I think I'd like Slayer though.

ShoMeYaMoves Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 ky and then sol Yeah, it works on both of them for me. I don't have counter hit on or anything. Which part of it isn't working?

DaiAndOh Posted September 16, 2010 Author Posted September 16, 2010 Road to Ikaruga - NEW Bang social thread - Chipp Combos and Discussion Here. I'll do it 1 better :P.
Mr. Kimura Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 Since we're talking GG I like Baiken. Don't tell me to play Hakumen :sad:
huey253 Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 baiken is fucking gay, enough said. 2D cause chipp to sweep them and then 236S juggles them, but they are able to tech before 6HS comes out, even if done on the first frames

I was in training and had recovery on 1st frame and everything and for some reason 236S was juggling the dummy until it hit the ground. Then I was playing some friends today and they could tech it and I was like wait whaaaaat. ;______;
Lord Cruxis Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 seeing as bang plays like chipp in unlimited mode you can do his new mix up moves, which is 236C, 236B. If the 236B connects you can follow it up with this, 5B, 623B, daifunka, and end your day happily there.
ZONG_one Posted September 16, 2010 Posted September 16, 2010 I thought unlimited bang < regular bang? rofl. Get at my robo dizzy.
