Funny how in most cases, I preferred mid screen for combos, but it looks like a corner based game. I kinda like needing to push the opponent toward the corner with this character, could lead to some bumper mindgames. And remember, Daifunka takes you straight there!

CT Bang was fine, as was his damage on pretty much everyone but Carl and Rachel. Not learning cha specific combos =/= character doesn't do good damage.

Hes got all the great shenanigans going for him with a really cool honorable hero thing going for him as well. I for one am a fan of the big hero types, and hes got that going big time, with all kinds of laughs too, and even a little bit of a mystery in his story with his nox , ikaruga, masters son so on and so on. Sorry but generic angry heroes ( ragna ) , nervous wimps ( noel ) , whore types ( litchi ) are much more boring and unlikable to me than bang ever would be. That said I like most the characters, but I thats mainly because of the story, personality wise everyone else is rather bland. Also can I get an update. I know bangs looked uplayable for a bit, now apparently hes got a decent corner game. How decent are we talking and are we talking off of 5B, because I could see that being a bit tricky to get off with appropriate range in a corner. Either way, what super combos does he have going? Whats the damage output / oki / set ups mid screen and corner looking like? Hows FRKZ doing with the shorter dashes, has it killed the crazy damage combos that made it worth using?

He's a simple man (maybe a little too simple) with two simple goals in life: 1. Fight for burning manly justice avenging his master's death in true period-piece samurai-drama fashion. 2. Bang the SHIT out of the hot Chinese doctor lady down in Chinatown. (I could also say "nail" and get the same effect.) He's just such an endearingly obnoxious manchild. He's like Juicebox if Juicebox had sideburns, a tan and an AMAZING six-pack. He just babbles on and on and creates his own Jam-like psychological warfare by virtue of never shutting up. He's one of those characters whose innermost power is unleashed not merely by petty things like "good execution" or "solid tactics", but by turning HIS obnoxious nature into your own. To my mind, he's one of the LEAST obnoxious characters in all of BlazBlue, which is otherwise quite honestly a game I just hate the look of. Tager is a close second because he's a poor unfortunate soul who believes in science in a world of magical anime bullshit, but is enslaved by a bitchy catgirl with nukes. Also, a slutty squirrel wants to ride his gigantic cyborg nuts. Begin Gadget Finger jokes here! VVVVVV

But yeah all the reasons you guys list for liking Bang are all the reasons me and everyone else in the world hate him. Granted Ragna DOES have the personality of sandpaper I'll give you that but I find Hazama, Jin, and Arakune are all more interesting than Bang though I would never play as any of them. After taking a look at all the characters again I retract my statement about Bang being the worst. There are some stupid ass characters in this game.

His schizophrenia loses him points (seems like half the BB cast's gimmick to make them artificially interesting is to make them obsessive, mentally ill, or both), but being smarter than the insufferably cliche high-school chicks he went to school with gains him some back. Plus, he has a neat hat. I would rank him mid-mid tier in terms of being offensive to all five senses. (Yes, all five. You can SMELL the stench of failure coming off of Noel.)

zeth07 Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 I always thought Bang was a bit like "Mid-Boss" (for those that get the reference, +1). He can be funny and a bit of a joke, but he can be completely serious when it matters. Case in point, his Arcade ending in CT.
