It's the fact that the Chinese are doing shit to Japanese embassies and whatnot that would probably make the Japanese dislike the Chinese too, no? That's what my parents told me.

You're technically not wrong but the anger that the Japanese public has shown towards the situation has been nowhere near as hostile as the public anti-Japanese demonstrations that have been splashed across mainstream North American news over the past few weeks in China.
