I was wondering why anyone would ever want to play Phoenix after seeing ~1:30. Dead in one tiny little combo from Ryu :/

1. Don't call her Jean, I HATE Jean Grey >.>

2. Why are people still be shocked by her low health, we already knew it a wet tissue tier since the beginning

3. I will NEVER drop Phoenix! She may have garbage health but lots of potential and tools that will hopefully be as amazing as I'm envisioning. (oh yeah...I guess there's DPM but I doubt it'll be truly viable, but we'll see :3)

well Phoenix's low health is counter-balanced with her healing field as well as her DPM.

BS. Phoenix's health is FAR too low, I'm not saying she needs a huge health buff, but come on Capcom >.> Also people are probably over thinking DPM, as great as it is it comes at too high a cost to be viable all the time, and draining health + already low health = nothing. Healing Sphere is great, but it's not enough to push DPM into ultimate tier (honestly it'll probably be about saving up for lvl 3 X-Factor). Healing Sphere requires that you stay within range and it shouldn't be too hard to lockout Phoenix, even with her teleport.

considering it's marvel, a game famous for instant game changers I would think you're actually underrateing DP mode. As long as she's in the mode you can switch out to a different character and use her powered up assists as well as recharge her scratch damage. She does great damage and as long as you can keep the momentum of the match in your favor it's a huge buff. combine that with a lvl 3 or even a lvl 2 x factor and your team is looking pretty scary.

as long as you keep her out of the fight until you have about 4 bars you can be able to confidently use her and your opponent will be forced to take her out before that final bar or have to deal with DP for the rest of the match.

Basically, what he's saying is:

Learn to use Morrigan/Felicia/Thor or your Phoenix will not survive long enough to transform.

Phoenix is gonna have to keep CONSTANT pressure though, which will be hard against quite a few characters as it seems now... if the fight's momentum gets turned on her Phoenix'll have to GTFO or die

seems to me that Phoenix will be hard to maintain on point, she'll have to rely on DHC/air exchange to get her in and out of harms way... so I'm betting she'll need to be paired with another character who's pretty good on point (preferably one with respectable health)

I don't know why I'm even speculating on Phoenix, I have very little desire to play her <.<

Pretty much this, alot of the things that'll keep Phoenix in the game and safe cost meter, that's why I think trying to save that meter all for DPM is kinda impractical, you also have to keep in mind that your execution has to be perfect, because unless your opponent is free and doesn't know how to combo off hits, Phoenix will go down in 1 combo guaranteed. Of course we are just theory fighting for another 16 days so I could be eating my words 6 months from now (although it's win-win for me since I won't be dropping her anyways :3)

Jean Gray is a bitch. No reason to use her :kitty:

I agree, bitch needs to die and get reborn as a good character! ...Oh wait :kitty:

So, I just noticed something, I dont think its been said (or maybe it has) but X-Factor affects projectiles you already have out.

;O In situations where Trish's boomerang Super his someone from across the screen, she can just activate X-Factor on the first hit and super power the rest of the attack. That seems a little over the top.

How does X-factor work exactly? The only thing I know is that it turns your combo damage to insane mode.

Also, I think they should fix Dark phoenix mode. I know it costs 5 bars, but for that price you get a character that can bulldozer your entire team if she gains the momentum, also she regains lost HP while in assist mode, that is just lol.

But I guess youll have to troll her with some "anti-zoner" character.

Also, Sentinel looks OP as fuck.

Yeah, you just described X-factor. It speeds you up too.

Phoenix is cool as it its. Since it basically dies to 4 hits -> Shinku Hadoken by Ryu, it's cool.

Let's call everyone OP by their trailers which want to make them beastly against everyone then.

People are into a lot of things when it comes to fighting game characters.

Or to quote Ryoma Nagare:

"If there's a hole, it's a guys job to thrust into it!"

Necrophilia never looked so good.

this is another classic example of Fantasy over Reality

Hsien Ko, :kitty:

a real corpse, :vbang:

and sxb, thanx for reminding me about that crappy series, i would have nightmares tonight :vbang:

Only necrophiliacs understand the true meaning behind "cracking open cold one"... I have weird friends lol

Shit fags, why are you forcing me to decide? All of these are worth putting in my sig :kitty:

At least Strider could survive one, mabey two, combo's. Phoenix literally has less than half of average health.

Sentinel throw in corner

c.lp lp rocket punch Plasma Storm is 100%

Sentinel air combo with unfly/capcom assist is 100%

Any infinite

15 seconds of team Duc

Juggernaut j.hp s.hp headcrush or just headcrush if glitched.

Strider had no health.

those are all max damage potential chars though.

Phoenix died in one Ryu combo. Ryu is like, the fucking definition of average always.

Average in MvC2 is 80% damage combo.

Average in MvC3 will be 80% damage combo.

Strider and Phoenix will basically have the same health.

If they get hit they die.

X-Factor does more than just increase damage, it let's you extend combos through XFC, and it affects characters differently, although the difference in effects is largely unknown as of right now iirc (it gives Chun-Li cokehead speed for example)

and no, Sentinel is not OP, he's obviously going to have similar tools that he did in MvC2 (they're not going to completely retool a character that was so widely played). They just down-toned the tools he has to make it a little less ridiculous...

My point was that Phoenix died to 2A, 2B, 2C, Hadoken, Shinkuu Hadoken, which is about 50% against average life, but on Phoenix it was overkill.

You don't even need good combos to 100% Phoenix.

Why you hatin on Wolverine's EX Girlfriend like dat?

@Heroic Legacy: That's IF Strider makes it. And if he does he better have a good-ranged Gram and Excalibur and ultra fast warps and mixups.
