Winning a match against a projectile spammer by solely using Wesker's 421H.

That's the kind of thing that puts a smile on your face.

You're telling me that in this day and age people still think that zoning is cheap? Man, I had such high hopes for this generation too...

Zoning is one thing. If your playing a character like Arthur, it's to be expected. But if someone keeps spamming the same laser cannon/gun shot over and over without any attempt at switching things up it gets annoying. I know there are ways around these moves, but by the time you realize "Damn this guys just gonna do this move over and over" 1 direct hit + chip damage from countless others adds up quick.

people think everything is cheap unless they themselves are doing it

zoning just gets the most immediate complaints from shitty players because it requires a small amount of matchup knowledge and/or effort to get around it or you will automatically lose, instead of both players running up to each other and playing rock em sock em robots

it's especially hilarious in marvel where you have so many people just drawn in by the characters and fanservice that have little to no fighting game experience, and then LOL MARVEL happens to them and they can't even begin to comprehend it let alone attempt to counter it

The Vs series is probably the most unforgiving fighting series out therem when the huge droves it tends to attracts many an anus are not prepared for what's to come

TBH each of those character's assists work well for any character in the game. The new MSS sure as hell isn't MvC2 MSS, but it's awesome in it's own way. Probably one of the early top tier teams.

You have safe DHCs in any order. You can DHC into drones, ice storm or Grav squeeze for easy follow up damage. Drones assist is some of the best horizontal coverage in the game, Typhoon assist outprioritizes so many projectiles, and EM Disruptor comes out ridiculously quick.

I just feel like having two projectile assists are a waste, also you're absolutely correct on a plethora of safe DHC options assuming Mags is on point.

Changing my team to Zero/Doom/50Sent after MUCH consideration. I can still do 800k 1 meter corner combos with Zero with a crouching L, so I'm not losing anything. I'm actually gaining more options with 50Sent. Now I can attempt gimmicky air throws and combo off them for decent damage. I can also use my meter more effectively now that I dropped Phoenix.

On top of all this, 50Sent will be a huge tank for my team and will participate in matches. And I'll finally start using my meter for Sougenmu unblockables.

I really don't know why Capcom buffed his assists so much. Sentinel Drones are going to be this game's Doom Rocks I swear.

Also, you were the first Zero I encountered to actually use Hienkyaku mixups (In MvC3) and that really caught me offguard rofl, and I kinda lucked out the one match I actually beat you with DP up.

Speaking of which what situations using Sougenmu would actually create a true unblockable? I'm curious.

I think a low hitting, or overhead, would be better if your gonna have Zero on point. Drone AND missiles a little unnecessary IMO.

Nah, reading the Zero forums right now, apparently Zero by himself with Sougenmu can create his own unblockables. Having a low hitting assist is just overkill, Plus, his team becomes considerably beefier with Sentinel rather than mega-ultra lightweight Phoenix, who even in DP mode is extremely suspectable to being random'd out by a lucky super (Like I have been several times :/)

Also, Doom Missiles with Zero is fucking deadly, doing it at the beginning of a blockstring keeps you completely safe even if you get hit because the missiles will come down and hit your opponent. It's basicially better than Doom rocks for certain characters.

I'm still experimenting on what I should use as Doom's assist and 50Sent's assist.

With Doom Rocks, I can get in quicker and cover more ground and reset pressure quicker. Doom Rocks is great in combos too and mix-up with Zero. When used when the opponent is on the ground in the corner, if they roll they will be stuck blocking Doom rocks and I can attempt a cross-up so they stay in the corner. With this assist, I can keep 800k damage for one meter or pass up 950k with DHC. With 4 meters and X-Factor, I can kill Sentinel. If I do this with Phoenix on a team, I still can lose against certain characters on Level 3.

With Doom missiles, I basically get a "Get outta jail free" assist while pressuring if they somehow hit me. It'll also assist with random supers in a match since it can hit the enemy out of it. Doom missiles also force the opponent to block more and it lasts longer. However, there are some downsides to this assist.

For one, the combo-ability is greatly decreased with this assist. Most likely if I use it, I'll want to use 50Sent drones instead of Rocket Punch as a combo extender. Also, if I land a hit, sometimes the missiles will interrupt the combo which is really bad, and you never know when you will actually hit the opponent. The biggest weakness with this assist is that Doom stays out for a LONG time. People can punish him with a super on reaction with most characters, so I have to make sure I keep him covered.

Right now I'm leaning towards Molecular Shield and Rocket Punch. With Molecular Shield, I can cover the ground enough and just use Zero's command dashes to approach. With Rocket Punch, I can keep combos going like with Phoenix except it also OTGs so that I can combo easier off air-throw. 50Sent Force is good, but I don't think I need it unless I get Doom in the fight, and I usually bring him on tri-jump happy. I'll have to do more testing, it's hardly been a week.

You cant just rely on always having Sogenmu up, or else that could end up in pretty inefficient meter management if your not able to get a combo off and build more. But, i see where your coming from of course.

And im not sure how i feel about running Rocket punch instead of drones. Man, drones are way too good not use.

I really want to use drones, but I just feel like they aren't needed for some reason. It seems like they would do better for zoners, and I like killing a character in one combo.

cr.L (hold) cr.M cr.H st.S j.M j.M j.236H AS1 (Rocket Punch) j.236H st.S j.M j.M release buster j.623L (hold) st.S j.M j.M j.H j.S AS2 (Molecular Shield) j.236H release buster Rekkoha. 800k corner only.

Mid-screen is just standard buster loop with three ground reps in the combo. I only can land these 100% offline.

Trying to hit Magnetos new rom online is an exercise in frustration. I literally dropped it once in a 5 hour session offline, while I can count the number of times I've hit it online on one hand. This netcode is abysmal.

Dog/Robot is the new Strider/Doom.

Clockw0rk was playing Hsien-Ko + Doom Hidden Missiles assist for some major blockstun.

I love Dog/Robot. My team is Robot/Dog/Big Robot

i almost did an assist infinite once... pheonix on point was dead and i was juggling the shit out of the assist... and then the pheonix body dropped and my directron got all screwy :/

needs corner, on point character dead by at least 4 juggles, AND interrupt an assist while you are at it

Meh, after a week I am already done with this game. Getting tired of the easy to do basic combos that result in 600K+ damage, yet a really hard one only does a measly 100K more, nice way to balance things Crapcom.

Sentinel is broken, X-factor is broken, Advance guard pushes too far back, chip damage is too high, Doom hidden missles is lame, sentinel assist is lame.

Back to a good game called BB, Bang and Litchi aren't even 10% as broken as the top characters in this game, unbelievable.

The only thing broken about Sentinel is how safe his hyper (Hyper Sentinel Force) is. X-Factor is an equalizer. There are so many ways around Advancing Guard, so blaming that just shows your lack of skill and impatience. Chip is a bit ridiculous but isn't as annoying as a million other things. lol Doom missiles aren't that amazing IMO, since they lock onto your position once fired just you know...move, as long as you can out maneuver your opponent it's all good. Only Sentinel assist I hate is air raid, the others are rather easier and leave Sent out rather long for me to punish.
