also, this morning's matches of 2 vs 2 were JUST TOO SICK!

raven is the only other character I'm decent with other then Sol. I'm too dumnb to be good with paradigm, and I just recently picked up Sin (you proabably noticed). My is Izuna pretty garbage too.

ayumu, in 1 vs 1, Sol.badguy beats me clean. shuts down my mana income, and runs like the wind when I want to fight him.

unless I play paradigm, then he hunts me down like a mad man.

Edit: oh yeah, I did some more testing on Sol. I wanted to see what moves of his have super armor breaking properties. here's what I discovered by finding moves that break Ky's super armor when he preforms (F) 8x.

(F) 8x

(L) 2x

(L) 8x (yes, his slide breaks super armor)

all of Sol's special moves with the exception of the second hit of bandit revolver breaks super armor. this even includes gun flame and the little explosion that does 5 damage at the end of break down.

I also tested if the (L) 8x slide goes under horizontal attacks.

....

it doesn't.

I want to test Sin next. I think his (L) 2x goes under horizontal attacks. in the Ky vs sin masters only match in the GG2 video thread, I saw it go clean under Ky's stun edge.

Yup, learned that a looong time ago thanks to japanese, I think I even used it agains you too. Also leads into his overdrive which you probably already know.

oops. I mean the little explosion on Sol's break down! silly me!

I noticed Ky's move had super armor thanks to....well It was so long ago I forgot.

crimson jacket will not break if you hit him with a armor breaking move, it will only mean that Sol will receive the appropriate knock back reaction. hit him with a (L) 8x, and he'll fall down. the game refers to his super armor as "knock-back resistance". like the GG2 wiki says, it lasts the first 8 seconds of activating crimson jacket.

I didn't think of using hunchback throw.

oh yeah, and same with Sol's (F) 8x. it breaks through super armor as well, though it isn't really surprising. forgot to mention that.

I was surprised when I found that gun flame breaks super armor though. boundary was cracking up.

I'd like to ask a favor. if anyone is bored and wouldn't mind it once and a while, take a look at some 2 vs 2 videos over at the GG2 thread, and if they see a video they think doesn't need to be on the thread, post the video here so I can check it out. I would like to remove some garbage from the thread. I was not as good at the game when I started the thread so I would feel differently now about poorly played matches.

Well, it's likely no one noticed that JJJ2 was back online this weekend. That's because I hauled my (working, unlike his) 360 over to his place so we could play whatever. I finally managed to get it working right, and now have version 1.46 and Underworld Hill 2, like I should, but I didn't have the MS points to get Raven for my own account... damn.

There was also a moment we didn't believe. When I went online to get the update, there was a 2 on 2 match waiting for a fourth player. So I finally got my first online matches in.

I was horribly unlucky in the first round, with both of the really good players being on the other team. There was one Valentine player, Isiko3 or something like that, who took over 70% of the map by himself by the end of round 1. Bastard left me with no ghosts controlled in rounds 1 and 2, and my teammate died in no time.

Then the next game, Isiko3 was on my team. I did way better than I ever thought I would in my second online game ever, managing to take down the Sol player a few times (Exciter+Heaven's Libra=hax) and held out until round 4, when the Izuna player got Daidarabotchi to my masterghost.

JJJ and I switched up who was playing over a few more matches, but the next three games ended with Isiko3 forfeiting in the first round, so we gave up.

Then I watched the replay of that badass second match I had, so I could try and copy Isiko's amazing Valentine skills... and saw that he had been idle the whole game and never moved or summoned a single unit.

So, if you see Isiko3 on? Screw that guy.

congratz on finally having your first online GG2 match. it's about damn time.

Me and sol.badguy had some crazy bouts ourselves this night (or morning, whatever). we had some not so stellar 1 vs 1's, but some great 2 vs 2's (some of them didn;t stay connected throughout though.) our last match was a 4 sol 2 vs 2 on holy knights fortress. me and Sol.badguy vs 2 japanese guys. we were both ex sol, and them regular sol. we ended up winning through critical downs. it was pretty intense.

Isiko was my first Japanese GG2 buddy. He isn't that good, but he is a cool guy. We got our asses kicked several times when teaming in 2v2.

Ayumu, I sure miss the good ol days of Guilty Gear 2.
