purify Posted October 13, 2008 Posted October 13, 2008 I ordered it online D: ...so I'm not even sure what store# I'd complain to at this point. edit: Heavenscent told me to contact gamestop directly, so I'mma do that. I really need to stop shopping there -_-;
Zeromegaman Posted October 14, 2008 Posted October 14, 2008 any chance this game will make it to the ps3? I wish Would be awesome Though
Rift Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Guys, we need to share gamertags to get some matches going. It's great online, but it's really hard to find a match. Add me if you're interested in playing this game at all, gamertag is TheMattAlder and my friend's gamertag is MadMartign.
Vulcan422 Posted October 16, 2008 Posted October 16, 2008 Raven is now available on the marketplace. Released yesterday. "THAT FEELS GOOD!"
Circuitous Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Just bought it, played a little at the store. Magic discussions already way over my head.
Zazz Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Just bought it, played a little at the store. Magic discussions already way over my head. just pretend you're sin. seriously his part in those talks is to remind us that "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!"
purify Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Magic discussion is like...WAHT Anybody else notice that Valentine's costume changes if you use red? Not sure if other characters are like this.
Adelheid Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 Am I the only one who can more or less understand them when they're talking about magic? There's pretty clear analogues with music theory.
Lou_Cypher Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 I understand....a bit. I'm not that into music anyway but I had some training through piano, which I hate because I keep being forced to play it. Anyways, music references are usually clear in this game.
the8anarchist Posted October 17, 2008 Posted October 17, 2008 i know sol mentions in mission 6 where he summons 2 drills without Izunas aid he mentions only being able to make a diatonic composition, which in actual music means a 2 note piece of music, but in the game sense summoning two grunts so a pentatonic composition would summon 5.
Circuitous Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 So does the 12-step or 12-word business have any relation to musical theory? It's all a pretty interesting business. Dispelling bringing up Invalid Access Chord (it's like he's getting a pop-up error message in his head or something). The D&D geek in me is getting all excited about it.
the8anarchist Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 hey i was wondering, outside of the fight with That Man can you go into sols DI state? i saw in the mission 6 vid that DI just powers up maybe one or two attacks. but i want to know if you can turn into the flame creature sol turns into in that fight.
Rift Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 you can...I think there's some kind of trick to it. Sometimes Sol goes into DI mode when you use the skill, and sometimes it does absolutely nothing.
Zazz Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 you need 100 DI points its listed under sol's masterghost life bar next to the mana count (with a gear icon next to it) you get those points whenever your non-elite servants hit stuff
Circuitous Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 It makes taking down Masterghosts easier, that's for damn sure. That and sending like 20-someodd servants after it at the same time. Once you get the whole idea of "oh hey my servants can do shit without me and then get into position" the fights get pretty easy.
the8anarchist Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 ok thanks i dont have a 360 but i would like the chance to play it someday. ok next question: its not like the 2d ver where its kinda of a risk/useless is? or is it more like an uber buff for sol?
Circuitous Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 You have a delay while it's activating, and you can be attacked out of it. I think it costs all your Tension if you're knocked out of it. If you can do it from far enough away, though, it's a big boost to range, damage, and speed. It lasts ages, too.
the8anarchist Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 so super buff but it starts up like a DI:2nd? well i suppose you could have servants cover you while it activates.
Circuitous Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Or just activate it like fifty feet from the fight. Servants won't usually "cover" you - attacks will sneak in regardless. Also, this game is surprisingly short. Okay, 12-hour play sessions don't help, but still.
Zazz Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Also, this game is surprisingly short. Okay, 12-hour play sessions don't help, but still. well like most RTS games, i assume that most play time will be spent playing multiplayer free mission is kinda neat, but i wanted more variety beyond playing the story missions with other characters
Circuitous Posted October 18, 2008 Posted October 18, 2008 Yeah. I'll have to either borrow my brother's Gold account or just make a new one.
Zazz Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 lol tried my first set of online games as dr. p i lost every one i used my SUPERIOR STRATEGIES, but getting rushed down by sol and getting killed repeatedly so much my masterghost dies reveals why no one plays him :P
Circuitous Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Superior Strategy = Stay the hell away from Sol dammit.
Zazz Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Superior Strategy = Stay the hell away from Sol dammit. yeah if only he didn't hang around his ghosts whenever i try to take them
Adelheid Posted October 19, 2008 Posted October 19, 2008 Clearly you weren't making him experience enough of the universal gravitation.
