Ayumu Gardevoir Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 And that's why I don't make guides.
Xithmos Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 The 8X loop could be used in nearly all of her limited combos. I'm not trying to make a guide, I'm giving examples. Plus, I mainly use the 8X loop on servants (or 6X + XXXX etc) since it's the most damaging. The Sol combos may be dead obvious to YOU, but not to others.
NeoVid Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 Since I still can't get online (ARG must download Raven!!), I've been trying to get the last few Campaign achievements. The thing that's really annoying about that right now is finding the Chimakis. Are there any stages that don't have one? I searched almost every inch of the stages Water Drop and Underworld Hill without finding one, and I don't see how one could be on Vs Devil Sin. Also I really hope there's not one on the final boss stage. I can just imagine finding it in all that featureless red... No, wait, I can't imagine finding it. Tell that to the Demoman, he needs a buff... Oh wait, wrong game. You play TF2? PC, or are you stuck with the X Box version?
Blackgenma Posted December 22, 2009 Posted December 22, 2009 I'm not trying to make a guide, I'm giving examples oh, that changes EVERYTHING. sorry for making that silly mistake. maybe some time we can discuss in-depth the differences between what "example" and "guide" videos warrant in their content. not that I'm getting on your case, but I find it Ironic that in "example" video, you didn't provide an example of a good 8x loop. but your your videos, your content, do as you please. it' s a good video regardless, and I learned from it. if there's any Issue with your Sol video, it's that you basically have a bunch of variations of the same combo, which isn't too bad, but there's at least 3 combos in Sol's advanced combo video that aren't worth doing at all. Edit: I fought kou2007 very recently, and I didn't get absolutely destroyed for once. I am happy, victory is within my reach.
PandaKingEX Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 It's good that these are just examples, since many of these combos look very awkward and not worth using. Xithmos always tries to put his own twist on everything, instead of sticking with what works.
NeoVid Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Wait, Sol has a guard break into Overdrive combo, and Valentine has a loop? How do these work? 360 and PC. Well, my Steam name, surprisingly, is NeoVid.
Xithmos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 For Sol, simply input: X > 6X > 2X > A+X For Valentine, if I remember correctly... 4X > X > X > jX > jX >jX > air dash > [8x > jump] xn 4X > X > X > jump > [8x > jump] xn You'll only get around 300 max for her loop. As for the player matches video for each character I was going to make, I realized that it'd mainly be just words in a video with little gameplay in it. If you'd like, I can give you my opinions each character's item, gameplay, etc.
danceljoy Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 Hey, sorry for requesting too much but is there a win/lose quote list for the English translation of Overture? Just asking. Bye.
Blackgenma Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 For Sol, simply input: X > 6X > 2X > A+X For Valentine, if I remember correctly... 4X > X > X > jX > jX >jX > air dash > [8x > jump] xn 4X > X > X > jump > [8x > jump] xn You'll only get around 300 max for her loop. If you'd like, I can give you my opinions each character's item, gameplay, etc. make a little guide for Izuna, and don't bother for anyone else. if you do that, I'll be happy, as he is the only character I can't use effectively at master fighting (I don't know why, I just can't). servants don't matter to me, I know enough about each one. I'd rather have a really well done guide on Izuna than a bunch of meh guides on multiple characters. Edit: there are some Izuna gameplay in my GG2 video thread, but there isn't a player who mains the character and excels with him. I'm having trouble finding definitive game play tricks with him from nicovideo. I could ask boundary for tips, but I've been spending th majority of my time practicing with Sol, and it's been paying off. I could get by if I just sat down and focused on improving with him, but even then, if you could make a video just on him, it could help me a lot personally.
Xithmos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 But it'd be boring if I had a video with just text and barely any examples. Do you want me to type out a lengthy summary of what Izuna is capable of, tips and tricks, etc.? I think it'd be easier and you could use it in your future guide if you ever plan to make one.
Blackgenma Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 But it'd be boring if I had a video with just text and barely any examples. Do you want me to type out a lengthy summary of what Izuna is capable of, tips and tricks, etc.? I think it'd be easier and you could use it in your future guide if you ever plan to make one. there are tutorials for GG X2 AC that do exactly what you are saying. I know what Izuna is capable of, it's simply putting it all in motion in real fighting. if you don't want to make a video, than don't bother with the Idea, I'll just practice with him.
Xithmos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I don't mind making a video, I'm just saying might as well type it out. If I made short clips explaining so and so, then it'd be kinda redundant. Such as saying to buy his item servant, then have the clip demonstrating to buy it and showing that it freezes would be kind of silly. It's your call though.
Blackgenma Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 any moron can buy and use his stupid servant, I want to be able to kick ass without any help from Items, man!
Xithmos Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 I was just giving an example. If you know all about the servants, then what else would you like to know? Canceling out of 6X, using his 4/6/j drill Y to set up an unblockable...?
Blackgenma Posted December 23, 2009 Posted December 23, 2009 then don't bother with it if you don't want to do it, or don't know what you would record. EDIT: hmm, looking a at my GG2 thread, I'm wondering if I should do something to organize the videos? they are starting to pile up, so I'll probably separate the 1 vs 1, 2vs 2, and points matches. the only problem is there is only one points match up, and few 1 vs 1 matches. there is a lack of both types on nico video, and the fact that not all the matches posted on the site are worth watching makes videos even less abundant.
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Well, my Steam name, surprisingly, is NeoVid. "Ayumu Gardevoir | Sagazap" Anyway, organization is always nice, has my vote.
IkeTakeda Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I wanna play overture with people ._. Adds?
Ayumu Gardevoir Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Add me, go ahead, won't be able to do anything until about Monday, but sure :V Oh and don't I know you from Allisbrawl?
Sol.Badguy Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Rather than read guides and everything on how to play, I say go fight Japanese, get raped, rinse, and repeat. Anyway, I pretty much main Izuna now because of how much fun I have playing with him, Comboing into invisibility, random hit and runs, a paralizer move(2x, 2x, taunt), Daibotchari(or w/e)the giant beefcake who is my first elite unlock if I'm doing good, a Tengu who caps ghosts in one move(recently found out :p), counter hitting melees, awesome kitties, inexpensive bears, all his skills are useful, Steel wasabi is a beast, I recently discovered a 405 dmg combo on my own (don't ask <.<), 2y crowd control, etc. plus I feel like I actually have a chance when I face japanese with him . Watch mah replay on the leaderboard! you'll find me around the monthly 2 win and 9 losses area :vbang:maybe I should stop challenging guilty blood...
Blackgenma Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 yeah, Izuna pretty much has no weaknesses, he's all around. only scrooges don't share combos. the jp have a wealth of information at their fingertips when compared to what the U.S. crew have. they have more competition and more experience. I wouldn't advise ignoring whatever helpful information you can get on this game. though I'm finding myself in a position where the only way I can improve at this point is to simply practice now. hmm. does anyone else think that Paradigm's elite units are not all that, with the exception of maybe bone biter? dual horn and Leonard are solid, but aren't amazing (Leonard has nothing on firewheel) and spirit seeker.....I did some tests, and he only attacks GHOSTS that don't belong to you with his cannon. the cannon has splash effects, so it hits those around, but it won't fire support rounds if enemies are attacking ghost that already belongs to you (he also occasionally misses, whats up with that?). he also releases minions one at a time. very situational unit indeed.
Sol.Badguy Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 Well izunas problem is his servents are all generally weak and die easy(with the obvious exception of daibotchari or w/e he's called). Omg though I LOVE paradigms elites, especially leonard. Nothings cooler than an elite who combos masters! All his elites are pretty awesome and helpful in my opinion....with the exception of spirit seekers....He'd be a ton better if he could shoot the master ghost but then that'd just be cheap. I rarely play paradigm but when I do I always try to use him just because it's so cool to watch him take in a capture cannon and shoot it CLEAR across the stage and blow a ghost with servents guarding it up. But then again he's still probably the worst elite in existence with the rival of blockhead...
IkeTakeda Posted December 24, 2009 Posted December 24, 2009 I rarely find people to play with except bad guy ._.
