CynicalTruth Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 @ Shugotenshi: You are not alone. Graphics and music for me. I loved Guilty Gear's anime-like graphics and awesome music. That said, it's not surprising that I got attracted to BlazBlue. Also, the characters with twisted personality. I am far from a fighting-game person, but those were sufficient reasons for me.
The Noble Clap Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I came for teh moohic. Heard Marionette Purple, went "What is this sorcery?" My friend told me its Blazblue.
Cryolyser Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 I was interested in GG, and then BlazBlue came out, brand new game and stuff based on GG so...
arctus32 Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 For me and just like everyone else it was because of Guilty Gear, that and the first Blazblue trailer when it showed off Ragna's Devoured by Darkness for the first time XD My only regret is that there's no BB scene here in Perth so I'm stuck with network mode ;_;
Kouhei_Masura Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 haha I feel for you arctus. There's no scene in Queensland either so i'm stuck with netcode too. Anyway I guess i was just reading a gaming mag(forgot which one) and they were talking about some really weird fighter. So i was like hmm ok i'll give this a try since I couldn't get into tekken or street fighter. So yeah imported my copy of blazblue and just loved it
blakmaphia Posted October 27, 2010 Posted October 27, 2010 I was looking for a decent fighter to start off on since I completely sucked at Guilty Gear and SF4 was a high disappointment. Started watching some videos of Blazblue and enjoyed it enough to attempt to tackle it. Haven't given up on it since.
DemiiPoet Posted October 28, 2010 Author Posted October 28, 2010 How long have everyone been playing? Think I've only been playing for a month and a half :/
RadRed Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 (edited) Been playin' BlazBlue since the console release of Calamity Trigger last year. Switched permanently to Continuum Shift once it came out for consoles as well. Edited October 29, 2010 by Circuitous
Drill Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 Been playin' BlazBlue since the console release of Calamity Trigger last year. Switched permanently to Continuum Shift once it came out for consoles as well. This. All of this.
JammyKuradoberi Posted October 29, 2010 Posted October 29, 2010 a friend then they kinda comboed and stuff on eachother and I got jealous
Haru-kun Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I actually really liked Guilty Gear a lot, but never actually got around to playing it very often. A friend of mine was telling me about BlazBlue long before it ever came out and I just kind of happened to pick it up. Been pretty steady with it ever since. I usually play it for at least an hour a night haha!
RedVermillion Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 @DemiiPoet: I dabbled a little bit with Calamity Trigger when my brother got it, but I could never get used to the fighting system or get good with any of the characters. It wasn't until Continuum Shift that I got decent with Makoto. Actually, that was the only reason I bought the game was because Makoto was announced as downloadable content. I have been happy ever since because... Makoto is just AWESOME!!! Sorry, couldn't help myself. ^_^
Sahgren Posted October 30, 2010 Posted October 30, 2010 I wanted to play a fighter and Blazblue just looked cooler than SF4 or T6.
Chozo003 Posted October 31, 2010 Posted October 31, 2010 A good friend of mine picked it up after seeing it featured in a Penny Arcade strip. We were more into party games like Super Smash Bros. at the time, but fighters were something we had always wanted to get into (played MvC2, Mortal Kombat, and a few other random fighters casually for a long time). BlazBlue was essentially everything we'd ever wanted in a fighter, with beautiful graphics and a very diverse cast that we'd enjoy exploring. Now we're hooked and looking to become more competitive.
WolfCrimson Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 I wanted to play a fighter and Blazblue just looked cooler than SF4 or T6. BB is cooler than SF4 and T6.
DoomieJ Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 Guilty Gear More like the idea that this was like guilty gear. Boy was i wrong.
mikenapalm Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 More like the idea that this was like guilty gear. Boy was i wrong. Pretty much yeah, i was disappoint in that regard. but then i kept playing anyway since its better than getting my ass handed to me all day in marvel or sleeping while playing sf4.
eLPointe Posted November 1, 2010 Posted November 1, 2010 For myself, I heard about the game from a friend, and up until that time I was never really into fighting games in general, I played some Street Fighter here and there but I just played it for fun and never really got into it. But I liked the graphic style. I never really liked the anime style of fighters until I tried it out, and I thought it was much more impressive, stylistically and graphically. The game played completely differently than what I expected, and I just loved it from the get go. I started to play a little GG after I discovered Blazblue, I pretty much like them the same, maybe with a slightly favor to Blazblue. I want to try out melty blood now, I watched it in a tournament and found it intriguing.
OniYouji Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I saw a screenshot and a small info box in an upcoming games section in a Game Informer a long time ago. All it said was that it was being made by the guys who made Guilty Gear and that it was presumed to be released exclusively on PS3. This was before the arcade version ever came out. All I knew from that tiny little screenshot was that I had to have this.
Black Onslaught Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I thought it was the new Guilty Gear ..it wasn't. I thought it would be more interesting than SFIV. ...it was thank god.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted November 2, 2010 Posted November 2, 2010 I thought it would be more interesting than SFIV. ...it was thank god. As much as I like BRAHZBLOO... this wasn't that hard to do, honestly.
