itsme Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 ^If it's CSE, it is harder to combo midscreen off of a TK special compared to the step version of it, and sometimes impossible. This is because the extra step distance actually makes a big difference in spacing when you try to IAD after them midscreen.
dioxideUniversa Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 not to mention timing the hop hotaru properly will leave you much lower to the ground than TK if you're having issues comboing out of midscreen hotaru, IAD -> j.C. it's something.
Tecta1Eastside Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Mac chaos gave me permission to post some of our matches here even though it's him playing hakumen and me playing u-12. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4bJqCApKF9w has my commentary if you can see whats happening. frame rate is bad You will need max volume and maybe headphones to hear me over the music On-topic When I mess up on TK tsubaki I get 3c instead When I mess up on hotaru I get 5b Edited December 10, 2012 by Tecta1Eastside

You can get Gurren after that if you do the j.C late enough, even on normal Hotaru. Then again, you probably knew that while putting combos up a while back...
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Does anyone know if we can counter CT's?
LegendaryRath Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Does anyone know if we can counter CT's? It would make sense that we could, but I'm interested in finding out too. ^
itsme Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I saw someone trying to vs Litchi, I think it was tenchi in another video on nico but iirc, he got countered out of it when he tried to though I'm guessing it's because you can hold most CTs and his 2D has one of the least amount of active frames of his counters.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Apart from 5d, don't they all have the same amount of active frames?
itsme Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 2D and jD are both around 7 frames I think and 5D was like 15 active frames and 6D was around 9 frames for the catch portion. For the actual attack portion of the moves, I think 2D had the slowest start up while all the drives active frames were the same.
Isuna Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 5D is 5F start-up 16 active 6D is active 9F 2D is active 8F JD is active 7F And, yes, like itsme said, I think all drive attacks has 5F start-up except for 2D which has 7F. IIRC! I'm little busy right now to translate the list, but I'll look at it to night EDIT: ISUNA WA DOKO DESU KA?!! D: Feels good to be missed. and by the way, regarding zanshin mid-combo, I'm pretty damn sure one video in my playlist does contain a mid-combo zanshin against Mu. You only have to look for it in the ~90 clips and hope it wasn't a match pktazn uploaded.
itsme Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 ^Oh, so was it his account that got killed by the YT police?
SansProtocol Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Yup, ArkSys Gave her two strikes for uploading BBCP footage. Appeals process is complicated and drawn-out.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 And, yes, like itsme said, I think all drive attacks has 5F start-up except for 2D which has 7F. IIRC! NANI O.O?! Is this as of cp?! I'm little busy right now to translate the list, but I'll look at it to night Thanks we appreciate your work. Yup, ArkSys Gave her two strikes for uploading BBCP footage. Appeals process is complicated and drawn-out. I thought it was because of uploading combo videos? Since like every song is owned by Sony, and thus no song can be used as a combo video. EVER. Which is why a lot of old GG channels are down because as youtube went commercial/industrial companies got to enforce more (unnecessary) control over youtube videos. Thus takign the "you" out of "youtube", it's basically "industrial-coimmercial-tube" for me now.
itsme Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 I'm sure Isuna was talking about the follow up attacks and not his shield start up.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Oh yes, you're right I misread lol.
Isuna Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 (edited) lol, yes XD The drive attacks have 5 and 7F start-up, not the drive block. I'm back from the arcade and it went much better than the last times. Though I still find dashing left harder than it should be and step something is frickin' impossible XD. Also having a hard time with DP. : / This time I went for arcade mode and not sparring so I tried and use 6D as much as possible to see what you can do with it. I'm pretty sure it is slower than 10F. I input 6D and then see opponent attack, and still get counterhit, so it really is mega-slow. Probably like the JBBS guy said, it is probably around 15F. 5D is not instant that I can also tell. Regarding following up 6D, even on the easy setting in arcade mode you kind of have to trick the computer to attack your 6D so it really was really hard to try it out (as, once again, you cannot use it on reaction >_<). Against Tager it worked so-so, so I have found out one thing at least. If you hit them after 6D they will be grounded. I hit Tager with 2B in the corner (I have to slow reaction to actually step something). So whatever you follow-up with you will need magatama to get air combo. From Zantetsu or 2B 5A pick up you don't need to super jump. But for the love of Ra, I was mashing 6 like crazy after J2A half of the time. T_T .edit// I checked itsme list and it looks fine. The only thing I wonder is Arikai. The kun'yomi + on'yomi mix is quite unusual so I would probably go for "gikai". When I search it on google I get Dynasty Warriors video clips, so maybe it is a Chinese name? If such, maybe Yihui. Otherwise it is only taste; "Korai kara no ν tsukai", could also be written as "Korai kara no Nu tsukai". ("The one who has used Nu since ancient times") Shippu could also be written "properly" with two u:s, though this is not standard for romaji. (Apparently non-Japanese finds ou and uu scary) Edited December 11, 2012 by Isuna
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 lol, yes XD The drive attacks have 5 and 7F start-up, not the drive block. Oh ok interesting to know. I'm back from the arcade and it went much better than the last times. Though I still find dashing left harder than it should be and step something is frickin' impossible XD. Also having a hard time with DP. : / Doing stuff on player 2 side requires you to use your thumb more. Excellent video demonstration of your hand positioning during combos. The handcam @ 1:52 and 2:48 show how your player 2 dashes should be done on stick. Watching his handcam really helped learn to not drop my combos.
Isuna Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Because 2D is slower, it is better to use to counter attacks with invulnerability, apparently. Now you get me tears in my eyes... T_T Dat J2A dash J2A T_T Thanks for the video, though I don't think I'm holding the stick that way. But now when I think about, I have no idea. Must say JD and that max 6C was pretty cool.
Moy_X7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 lol, yes XD The drive attacks have 5 and 7F start-up, not the drive block. Damn and here I was coming outta my way to make fun of you guys for losing the 1F start-up on the shields that used to have it :st1ckbug:
itsme Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 lol at the video, Kishuu is WAY too slow. Damn and here I was coming outta my way to make fun of you guys for losing the 1F start-up on the shields that used to have it :st1ckbug: I still think Plat's counter is cuter than Hakumen's counters.
BladeOfJustice7 Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 snip Has anyone showed you how to play on stick Isuna? Damn and here I was coming outta my way to make fun of you guys for losing the 1F start-up on the shields that used to have it :st1ckbug: Could someone please explain to me why there's stickbug and LK emotes on dustloop? And what these emotes are supposed to mean? lol at the video, Kishuu is WAY too slow. I still think Plat's counter is cuter than Hakumen's counters. I honestly hate platinum, I'm only going to tolerate her now due to her intros with Hakumen and Hazama and sharing the 6 heroes theme with them.
Isuna Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Damn and here I was coming outta my way to make fun of you guys for losing the 1F start-up on the shields that used to have it :st1ckbug: Well they did add like 14F of start-up to 6D.
Isuna Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 Has anyone showed you how to play on stick Isuna? My friends back home said like "the pro's says it's best to hold the stick upside down, but no one does it, hold it like it feels natural" Result: http://imgur.com/YBf6Y
dioxideUniversa Posted December 11, 2012 Posted December 11, 2012 "wineglass" is generally considered best by jp players, but it's just a matter of what works for you. i had tons of problems moving left cause my arm is stupid so i had to sort of bullshit my own grip that worked.
