bakahyl Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Come to think of it, doesn't the new enma nerf it into being unsafe on block? Right now I see it sometimes being used as a ghetto anti air, but if you can't jump cancel it anymore than i assume that Haku will be more likely to get punished for it edit: they will likely change it's blockstun or recovery because i doubt that it will stay -19 on block ,
Schneider-X Posted October 7, 2014 Posted October 7, 2014 Hakumen will have to resort to special canceling it into gurren and renka to keep it safe unless enma is relatively safe on block now.
mAc Chaos Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 I'm more interested in whether or not you can combo off of it at max range, since I use it to catch jumpouts and backdashes a lot.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 It'd be pretty godlike if the brushstroke effect expanded his hitbox a bit.
bakahyl Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 This might be interesting for Hakumen players related to Enma https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h52m39s edit: quality is still horrible because it's still being processed/converted by youtube Not sure what to say about Enma here. Either HH didn't punish Hakumen for a blocked Enma or the move is safer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h53m04s And you can still link a jump after Enma, because he was able to tk Hotaru after Enma. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h56m13s
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Huh, it doesn't jump cancel, but it looks like you can still link off a high jump. Then again, that Enma was at maximum height.
WolfCrimson Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Catching a projectile with a D move no longer gives a magatama.
Sophisticat Posted October 8, 2014 Author Posted October 8, 2014 So let's see now: - Zantetsu is still good - Counters are now special/super cancellable - 4C has faster startup, and may have lost it's charge function - Counter>Enma seems to move slightly farther - Enma no long Jump cancellable. I really like the counter change honestly, it finally gives them more utility even if we don't have 1f 6D anymore. Is this the complete list of changes? Boring if so. Back to playing Hearthstone~
bakahyl Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 No, those were the "highlighted" changes from the famitsu articles. For some characters there are surely more changes based on the livestreams from a few weeks ago and today's stream
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Is this the complete list of changes? Boring if so. Back to playing Hearthstone~ Lawl, Sohpis is done with the H-train for now.
mAc Chaos Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 It is a pretty meager list for a new version. Same with other characters.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Hopefully there's stuff we don't know about, but yea it's sorta lackluster so far.
Warhound Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 You think Hakumen's is boring, you should see Kagura's changes.
Raziul Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 This might be interesting for Hakumen players related to Enma https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h52m39s edit: quality is still horrible because it's still being processed/converted by youtube Not sure what to say about Enma here. He does two back to back in the time it'd probably take to do one right now.
Schneider-X Posted October 8, 2014 Posted October 8, 2014 Just some observations I saw from that stream. -Renka (1) doesn't knock down anymore, causes stagger stun -Counters don't give meter for countering projectile, only successful grab gives 1 star once again -Seems there's some way to determine when the counter grab comes out. -backthrow causes ground bounce similar to CT counter grabs, can combo into using kishuu > staircase combo
mAc Chaos Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h56m33sDid they reduce 2D's catch range? She walked right into it and didn't get grabbed.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DrsWN7pMjDM&t=1h56m33s Did they reduce 2D's catch range? She walked right into it and didn't get grabbed. Forget that, the catch didn't even come out. It looks like projectiles don't even trigger the grab animation anymore.
Soviet Bear Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 So... I guess they made 5D into Yukikaze more useful now, huh? Although only if opponent is on autopilot with their projectile + approach shtick.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 If the opponent uses a projectile and still gets hit by 5D>Yukikaze, they deserve whatever happens to them.
Soviet Bear Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 You'd be surprised by the amount of people who are really competent with their characters, but still don't know that Yukikaze and Shippu are unblockable. I sometimes have to send people PSN messages telling them to avoid and not block. Really, 5D > Yuki is just gonna be a scrub destroyer gimmick and nothing else in the end.
Kriegdrache Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 The J2A change is pretty cool imo, it might make for a pretty solid jump in option?I'm kind of excited to try CP2 Hakumen tbh. The whole enma not being jump cancellable kind of had me down, but I'm looking forward to messing with the new drive properties and stuff.
mAc Chaos Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 He's able to combo hop Hotaru after landing Enma. That makes me think other links should be possible. Maybe hop forward 2C, or 5A. It's just a question of what you can fit into that range in time.
Kriegdrache Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I think the famitsu demonstration video had something like Enma > hop 5A > staircase?
mAc Chaos Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Shouldn't the usual juggle loop still be possible?
Kriegdrache Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I'm not sure, wouldn't it all depend on J2A's untech time?
