Tournaments that will be run:

Arcana Heart 3

Who's running AH3? Whoever it is, PM me or something. We need to talk seeding. All top 3-4 seeds of the season will be absent.

Who is actually going to be here for NCI?

It sounds like everyone (important) is going to AX.

 I forgot to mention at the venue they should have at least 3 CRT tv's if not more that can be used if you guys want.

Also do you guys need to use any asus monitors and or HDMI cords? We have some and we need to test out stuff for our tournament the following week "SUMMER SUPREMACY!http://shoryuken.com/forum/threads/summer-supremacy-fremont-ca-july-9th-30-gs-gift-cards-ssf4ae-marvel-3.139297/" It's a SSF4: Arcade Edition & Marvel vs Capcom 3 tourny on July 9th if any one here is interested.

Sorry to bother you guys with possibly a dumb question but its going to be my first tourney. What are the rules for July 2nd Norcal install for GG? is it best 2 out of 3 rounds? or is it matches? Losers bracket? I tried looking for something that might answer my questions in the beginning of the thread but couldn't find it. And is there a rule for button configs? And just a question to know what to expect for myself; how many people usually bring their arcade sticks? I'm a pad player, I might be out of my league >.<

best 2 out of 3 matches, double elim

config your buttons anyway you want, roman cancel macros are OK

iirc pad players are in the minority but really don't use someone's controller to gauge their skill level

there will be players your league, we have players at almost every skill level really

if there are less than 8 players you guys should round robin

Doesn't matter, you aren't going to get better by not going. And hell just go for fun. The best thing about NCI is that the people are awesome. When I went to my first nci, I was so nervous I couldn't even do a 5b cc 5d combo right as Makoto. But dammit htat didn't stop me from having fun. To go have fun, and try to get get better.

that is the main reason why I'm going. I finally get to test myself against others. Its going to be fun for me. Whether I win or lose! To strive to get better! Its been something I've been waiting to do for over 6 years now. Then I found this site, and I'm finally getting to test myself to the limits... (insert manly tear) I look forward to this. I really do.:thumbu:

Didn't stop me, I entered GG for a year with pad. Came in 5th a couple times, 4th once. With Anji.

Controller type doesn't indicate skill level. Your ability does.

Gamecenter is legit - VIP game room, multiple console setups and wide spacious area to play BB, AH3, SF4, and Gundam. Myung expressed a great deal of interest to have the NCI crew join his arcade and you guys should -greatly- consider this location for future ranbats.

I highly recommend this place for the smaller ranbats. August NCI might be different. As a side note, I think a pre-registration list and fees should be established like starting now or some time real soon. Same with the venue situation. According to Myung, Gamecenter can hold up to about 60-70 people. Having a head count would be nice.

This looks and sounds really promising. Gamecenter looks very slick and clean, with a good amount of space, and its in the MIDDLE of the bay so its pretty fair distance wise for everyone. If I do make this next NCI we should definitely have it here.

I think the last thing we need, is the finals are on hold because the two competitors won't get off of gundam...

Fuck that, I won't be playing Gundam so I won't be distracted :3

Okay wait what is the official date for the July nci?

I need to know asap because I'll need to request it off, and I'll have a chance to do an iplaywinner special on an OPENING arcade not a closing one lol

On the first post: July 2nd:NCI @ DeVry University, MAIN DEVRY BUILDING, Room 101 A-B

Oh yeah.. Devry :v: I like that venue.

I MIGHT make it to this NCI. But only if someone picks me up, and then drives me back at like 12am.. I have to work at 5am the next day. So its probably a no.
