ZeroRaider Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 Pro tip, push buttons until you win/lose. It works EVERYTIME.
hobbes Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 lol i might just do that. As long as i dont have to drive home at night and crash into trees
ZeroRaider Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If you crash into trees, its their fault for staying in the way.
LuminAbyss Posted August 13, 2011 Posted August 13, 2011 If you crash into trees, its their fault for staying in the way. I'm never driving with you ever.
hobbes Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 So, does anyone have an estimate of how long this event should take? from previous experience? If its like 12pm-7pm I could swing it. I might just leave early depending. Thanks

Erik Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Based on previous experience it'll start around 5PM and end around 2AM :P Unfortunate, but so true. Chun: "We always try to start on time" Me: "On time means 12pm." 12pm rolls around. Me: "So when are we starting?" Chun: "Soon" 3-5 hours later. Chun: "Alright guys! Tournament starts now!" Me: "Sigh..."
OrionXElite Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I've been calling NorCal time for the past 6 months. We haven't started earlier than 2 hours late in almost 8 months:v:
Crosell Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Norcal needs to stop that. Its not that hard to start something on time.
ZeroRaider Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I gotta agree on that, its very unbecoming to have that happen over and over.
C0R Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Chun's going to need a hand for the tournament to start on time, and from what I saw last time things where rather unorganized because people didn't know what/where/when to do/pay/sign/sit. I shall bring many megaphones.
Crosell Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 we could just cut out the middle man and have everyone give spark 5 dollars :3
BeaverDeity Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Indeed we should try to start on time... (Although I've been saved a few times in the past because events have started later than they're supposed to, lol) Oh yeah, any word on the teams idea that I think Orion mentioned a few pages back? Or is it just going to be singles for BB?
BeaverDeity Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Crosell is trying to trick us! we're all going to be paying him 5 dollars instead
Nakkiel Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 we could just cut out the middle man and have everyone give spark 5 dollars :3 Spark is likely not going.
RinHara5aki Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 Very easy to fix the tournament time problem- Tourney starts at 10! Tournament actually starts at 12. Mission accomplished, we started at 12 roflz.

Shining Aquas Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 No that wouldn't work cause people who have to drive really far would complain about it starting too soon :3 Fuck, do people in Norcal even wake up before 10 AM? That is, assuming a job isn't involved. Also, I'm gonna try to acquire a copy of Kirby's Air Ride before NCI happens.

If the Custom Robo tourney happens I could bring my copy of Kirby Air Ride (If you want) since I'd be bringing my gamecube stuff anyway
Chun Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 FYI: In the revised rule set for the upcoming website, I will start doing DQs after a 10 minute period. Also, I really expect things to start at 12 PM this time, and will be enforcing this. Please leave early and be ready on site. ~Chun
RinHara5aki Posted August 14, 2011 Posted August 14, 2011 I was kinda joking, but there is a little seriousness I was intending here. Sleep deprivation is not a excuse to not make a tournament. Standard tournament timings are usually 8-10am start, and we should follow suit. As for driving distance combination with the sleep factor, I don't think a 2 hour difference would ruin the tournament, imo. Could be wrong, depending on people reactions around the bay. Probably the Sac people will get hit the most hardest. Also, if people worked on NCI day I highly doubt they would come at all, and if they did, they would come later, when the tournament already started, just to casual and socialize. In all honestly, I was saying 10 so that between 10-12, we can get a LOT of preparation and organization DONE, so then we can start cleanly at 12. The "Come 12 start 12" mentality hasn't been working... for the past 8 months lol. On another note, I money match all takers on Final Fantasy 7 REAL TALK
Chun Posted August 14, 2011 Author Posted August 14, 2011 The following is also requested of all tournament participants: *Hold all money matches/rivalries until you are out of all brackets, including side tournaments *If you remain in the bracket and your match is coming up, please stay in the vicinity. If you need food, have people pick it up for you (Food List TBA) *When your name is called, if you're on an arcade cabinet doing casuals please leave immediately to do your match These are the main problems and snags that happen during the brackets in general. The smoother the initial part of it is, the faster we can get to dinner break and then finals.
