This hakumen (is it Tenchi?) takes a crack at the carl that dominates this video at about 36:30

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z7oi3vBg1vw&feature=feedu

He used a tsubaki ---> airdash combo that looked really sweet. Almost beat him.

He's also in this one.

Here he gets revenge on the carl. This video is like haku heaven. The counters are just superb.

Is it safe to say that haku vs carl matchup is not nearly as bad as it is for other characters? The haku can guess and do a regular counter, or just cover all the options with super counter. It doesn't completely negate carl's resets since he can bait the counters, but it forces him to think about the right time to do a reset.

Haku comes back at 29 minutish. I loved this. The way he hotaru'd through the pressure into a 5k combo was just amazing. I am totally hyped for CS2. What do you guys think?

What the heck is Tenchi doing being so reckless? I guess that's just his style...

Anyway, Haku - Carl has always been at least .5 in Haku's favor in my opinion. Haku's range and footsies are simply superior to Carl's and control a lot of his movement options. Sandwich is still a threat, but Carl can't autopilot because of counters and Haku's potentially big damage. If Haku makes Carl work to get to him, it can be a frustrating match for the Carl.

Anyone know if that 5K combo is possible any where? Or do they have to hit a corner for the j.2C to connect? (It looks like it doesn't quite corner carry if you're in the corner when you start, though the fact that it carries as far as it does it pretty crazy)

PRFARMY's Haku is in several of the recent Nishi Nippori 2on2 vids!

Tenchi and another Haku who's name I can't read are still running a-cho (timestamps in the comments):

one of the white Hakumen players is Kakyuu (his name is written in kanji as 火九); the other white Hakumen is "mill".

holy crap that hakumen (kakyuu?names are too blurry), burst counter reads everywhere. He has really good sense and flow, but there are some really random/mysterious moves, like 6C right in front of an enemy.

Also, that double yukikaze against litchi was ridiculous; it's just, I don't think I've seen anyone do that in a match.

That pink Hakumen is PRFarmy. One of the new and pretty good Hakumen I've seen in CS2.

EDIT: Also, is it me or was Kakyuu play a bit too turtely in the new vids? He got aggressive when he needed to but I'm seeing him getting out stalled because he turtled too hard in almost all of his matches.

My favorite CS2 Hakumen right now is Chin. Gdlk use of Haku.

In fact, I'm thinking of making a compilation of his CS2 matches over the weekend for quick and easy viewing.

Thank god, you people post videos. Anyways, I haven't abandoned the threads, I've just been occupied with my improvement since switching to to stick in november. Along with school, I finish exam friday. From there I'll go back to watching matches. I don't want to watch too much cs2 matches, and I start doing cs2 combos in cs1 lol.

Anyways, bare with me all :)

He's kind of sameish, if not a little worse (compared to CS1). No gross damage off j.D, parries prorate more, midscreen damage isn't as good per star without 5C starter. Still really big corner carry and his corner damage I believe is a bit higher. Gurren being +1 on block and late gatlings to some of his normals like 2a/5a/2b/5b is pretty nice for pressure and the new kishuu is sexy.

A lot of the new combos look waaay more fun than what we have right now.

He has lower overal damage, but new stuff is found so he can still get 6k combos from midscreen corner carry. New gattlings A,B 2A, 2B. New Kishu is great, you can cancel it with any attack, counter, throw and barrier block (I think). He is maybe a little bit harder to play but overall, more fun :)

New game plan is to zone until he gets enough stars, than he should get more offensive and/or punish with hard hitting combos.

He has dropped from A/B to B/C tier i think.

He's listed a lot lower in the tier list relative to the other characters compared to CS1, but the tiers in CS2 are a lot tighter than CS1 tiers were. Several lists I saw had Haku as one of the worst characters. I'm personally not at all concerned about it, really.

Lol well he's nowhere near as shitty as ct hakumen.

But that's what I felt he would fall to in cs2, a/b to b/c. Anyways, glad to see he has more gattlings with his normals that aren't slashes lol.

Glad to see he has ways of dealing great damage midscreen, because those early vids, that seemed to have really killed part of him.

It's mixed. Most of the time he will get poor damage midscreen, but there are scenarios where you can get high damage, several of which seem to be with hotaru. There's also been vids of Hakus comboing off Tsubaki midscreen even with the huge slide. It seemed like in most cases any time he goes for big damage midscreen it ends in the corner because of all the huge launch/slide stuff.

Wow good shit, can't wait to get back into watching matches. I have noticed the huge buff to kishuu early on though, kinda hard to ignore.

IIRC, Hakumen along with Ragna was listed on many of the tier lists as right around the middle, so he's still at a decent level. I miss special cancelable forward throw but the new combos looks much more flashier because the opponent flies over everywhere with Hotaru and Tsubaki, as well as DAT Kishuu.

Meter gain and average damage is worse, but close-quarter pressure is better. It's now easier to optimally break 5k and corner damage/options are more lethal. Despite this, he's still listed as bottom of B tier, though I'm not too clear on why. Maybe the rest of the cast simply has better stuff. He does have to be played smarter.

Combos look a lot more fun, though. I think I'll be working on making my Haku into walking combo vid material in CS2 matches now. :]
