Kayahtic Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 Does anyone know if you can put that DLC music in the game (On stages, etc)? Or is it there to have? Cause if you cant put them on stages, etc, thats lame.
Vulcan422 Posted February 3, 2012 Posted February 3, 2012 You have to put them on stages. You go into the Stage Music Settings in Options and they'll be right there. Then you set them as the new default music by hitting X (PS3) or A (360). Can't wait for Music Pack 2 so I can replace Nightmare's godawful theme with his best theme ever, Forsaken Sanctuary.

Nice, Im think Im going to get pack 2 with this first DLC. I do wanna get the next one as well for SC2 and 3. Do you know if people online can hear the music, too? I'm guessing when you pick the stages it'll do it.

Kayahtic Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Cool, all the more awesome. Thanks for the info! =D
iw2ma Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 The changes to GIing isn't bad and i think it'll force users to get used to their characters built in auto-gi's too.
Vulcan422 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Guard Impact, while an excellent tool in Soul Calibur, was still very annoying in previous games. You just mash 4/6G over and over and get instant frame advantage. New system is better, honestly.
Shruikon Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 Played the game for the first time today, going straight into the deep end having not played an SC game in ages and picking Viola. Game's pretty fun and I really like how Viola plays~
Bolverk-GTM Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 I have a feeling that I'll grow to loathe Viola as much as Kula judging from how many people are playing her.
Vulcan422 Posted February 4, 2012 Posted February 4, 2012 (edited) Viola does feel a lot like playing a 2D fighter within a 3D fighter. Her main BnB instantly pushes you into the corner and it's stupid-easy to do. Not to mention if she has meter she can do super (Critical Edge) and then rush up and do an EX (Brave Edge) combo. Also I dropped Raph and Mitsurugi for Nightmare and Xiba. Raph has better combo strings but he feels nerfed in terms of baiting and low attacks. Mitsurugi just got reworked and simplified too much, making him harder to get into. Also looking into subbing Leixia. She's more simple than Xianghua and overall she feels really fun. Starlight777 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I'm getting nothing but 1 bar connections lately and it takes forever to find a room anyone else have this problem?
Kyosuke Kagami Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 After seeing how shittastic SC3 was and how "erh okay" SC4 tended to be... is Soul Calibur 5 a big improvement? AKA at least as good as SC2? (not expecting this to be SC1 quality to not raise my expectations a lot ).
Vulcan422 Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 SC5, competitive and balance-wise, is just as good as SC2. It feels like a fresh start. It's a huge improvement over 4.
Kayahtic Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 I agree, I'm really liking it so far. Im laughing at all the people who say it sucks and bleh bleh.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 People who say game suck are storyline faggots who can't even fucking play with other people. Some reviews I've checked have graded this game with a 7.5 just because lol story mode (and they don't even bothering mentioning gameplay improvements).
Tsuki Garyuu Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 It isn't just story mode (dunno what reviews you're looking at). With all the improvements to combat and multiplayer, everything else except CaS is weak or padded compared to all the other games' content.
Kyosuke Kagami Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Dunno about that. SC3 is the game with the biggest content out of the series. Doesn't change the fact that it's a fucking piece of boredom shit.
Tsuki Garyuu Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 (edited) It may have to do with the mechanics being too complex(?) in 3 or that CaS was half-assed, but I'm sure SC2 and SC3 had many people to believe that the series lives and breathes off of its content, as well as the story elements, while still being "the fighting game." All the more reason why SC5 feels like an apology letter to complaints from 4 than a new installment. It's still a great game. Everything else....meh. Speaking of, do you even get any worthy CaS unlockables from beating Legendary Souls. I got Algol from QB, so I'm like "fuck it." Edited February 5, 2012 by Tsuki Garyuu

Honestly, 7.5 is a high enough score which is only 2.5 scores lower than a perfect one. I can easily see the game losing a point or two for me if a gameplay feature that took me a lot of time to complete didn't meet my expectations, even if the rest of the game is perfect. People should realize that the scores go from 1 to 10, not from 6 to 10. And, of course, that the score is subjective.
SolxBaiken Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 SC = SCII = SCV > SCIII > SCIV III was good [quit hating], but the Arcade ver was better [for the gameplay improvements and balance], IV was the only "meh" SC IMO, and V honestly feels like it's own league within the series. V may be light on content but it makes up with vastly improved gameplay and the best online system of any fighting game to date. Legendary Souls serves no purpose other than to provide a challenge, all CaS parts are unlocked by simply leveling up.
Kayahtic Posted February 5, 2012 Posted February 5, 2012 Well I run myself into a problem. Having some trouble with Viola online, it seems like I lose with her alot. Maybe because her play style is different from anyone elses, and needs alot of attention and practice with her. (Trying to do that now) I been going into training mode every day to try and get new moves in and actually getting to know her move list, etc. So hoping I can get her down soon, even though the games not even a week old. I read that she does some low damage. But that doesnt stop me from using her.
