That alone most likely means nothing to the overall game plan. Are you sure that isnt that big? we loose like 4 option for mixup/crossup and our corner loop No more 6B IAD j2.C Alle~cancel, no more 6B, j2.C, jC, 3]D[ and 6B, j2.C,j.B j.C, 3]D[ mixup, and any type of crossup from 6B, j2.C, Nirvana move. Also, i will miss the corner loop, 5B,6B, j2.C Alle~cancel, 5B,6B, j2.C Alle~cancel, 5B,6B, j2.C Alle~cancel, 5B,6B, j2.C Alle~cancel, 5B,6B, j2.C Alle~cancel, etc.. I dont know men, for me is a big change. We loose too much option from removing a jump cancel that isnt overpowered or broke. Carl is a reset oriented char, so why he should loose option for doing that?

Akira-Shiro Posted August 30, 2011 Posted August 30, 2011 JG i believe you are over reacting just a little bit, As for the loop im pretty sure someone during the locktest must have tried using the loop. And arks hates loops, they just dont kno an effective way to remove all of them. As for crossups we still have them, same for our mixup, not a single UB setup involved us using 6b jump cancel. So after all of that we only truly lose our cantabile combos, however at the same time we still have our dash that can cancel into regular moves on frame 6.

You know? that was my mindset when i learn about the loketest for CS2 Extended. BUT, after seeing that they are modifying Nirvana attack and REMOVING thing like jump cancelable i feel paranoid. Also, NO ONE know how is this new 3]D[. I loved 3]D[ pick up from CS2 AND! we arent getting any buff realated to having more Nirvana gauge.

I know how you feel but Carl is waaay to unorthodox for even the developers to handle. Due to Carl's playstyle and character design adding just any random property to either his or Nirvana's moveset for some reason makes him crazy good. CS1: Jump B Fatal Counter: Best FC move in the game, believe it. Volante: Adding another move that Carl can use in combos. Carl's damage output overall was ridiculous. And lol does anyone remember how fast Nirvana's volante was during the initial loketests. She was machine gunning those things. Overall the best thing about Carl was his j.B FC. Man that thing was good. CS2: Super Armor on Anima during the loketest: There's no getting around this, this is broken. I would have loved it if it was in though haha. Con Fuoco not stopping if Carl was hit during loketest: o___O J.C knock down: Very good for Carl. It works well with... 3D Pickup: It compliments j.C nicely and allowed him to have better oki than most of cast. Combine this with his great mixup it makes up for his damage nerf. But what ruined Carl was: j.2C gatling from j.B: This was where Carl lost his respect. Needless to say it lead to some pretty stupid stuff. My point: What the heck can you do with Carl? Honestly I'm predicting bounce loops. I guarantee you that if the developers add any property to him or nirvana (ground bounce, super armor, wall bounce, stagger, burger flip) they'll probably be able to take advantage of it too a much fuller extent than the developers intended. It's much easier to play theory-fighter when u can see the trajectories and stun times on things. If i had to play the theory game though, Right now i can fore see 2D-> Charged 6C ground bounce working and that's cool but i have to say that losing the stagger on it makes it much more annoyign to confirm in sandwhich and resets off of Fuoco. granted i dont manage to trick people with that ofte, but when i do it was always nice to know 6C lead to ground bnb and reset potential. Emergency teching i supposes gives a reset, yes but laa-dee-daah its easier to throw out a reversal there then from getting hit with say 6D. Who knows maybe we can play games with it like we can with 3C jump cancles and 3D for nasty as all hell wake up traps. I do really want to see how this 3D otg bounce functions and if it will allow for re-lauch into combos when it catches someone teching. I really really enjoy having great wake up games right now. Maybe with any luck they'll slow down the spin o 3D so it's actualy more like lambda's current 236D and it ca be otg combo fodder. maybe add a 4th hit. or idk let us keep the god-tier force-standing. The Noble Clap Posted September 3, 2011 Posted September 3, 2011 If they know the match-up they won't get hit with a Non-full charged 6C, its really fucking slow so when it hits they would drop their pad/stick in burning shame, maybe if it got sped up but then Carl would have "legitimate mixups" alone. Mashing is a good point though, mash techs are OP.

But yeah no more 5A/B after 6C if the stagger is gone because they'll be OTG and able to tech so no real combo potential off of 6C without charging it. If it remains as-is in this loctest Also cap i'm not talking about using it as a solo-preasure string move. I meant in combos after 6B 6D 6C or Fuoco confirm -> 6C which allows for resetting off the stagger or continuing combos. Akira-Shiro Posted September 4, 2011 Posted September 4, 2011 I wouldnt say that,,, if we do 2a>5a>2a(3D)>5a>6C/3D not only would it be UB but it will also combo. 3D catches people out the air so as they are forced to fall the 3D simultaneously picks them up so it will be combo-able. Its just not as easy to combo with outside of a UB setup, so dont get so pessimistic ^-^ this is lil carl we talking bout. We are able to use all our moves in some form of way, as for 4D & 2D it if we saw some vids we would be able to confirm how useful it will be but =/ nigs dont play carl like that so ppl cant get sum vids from the locktest
