mAc Chaos Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 People understand that, they just have accepted that it comes with the character depending on the luck of the draw. It's different in every game anyway. Unless you play Arakune. :P
Nini Heart Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Dacid, know any tier whores that win tourneys?
Lord Knight Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Something else entirely, I guess i'll have to reflect on it more. Were you thinking of something else?
Nini Heart Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 That's SSF4. And Jwong is far from a tierwhore. He stuck with Rufus in Vanilla and Super, even though he wasn't even top 10 in Super.
A.X.I.S. Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Just recognize, if you're beating people in a 65-35 or worse matchup, they need some SERIOUS fucking work. OK I can agree with this. @ Sg: Good shit. @ LK: I just felt like something is missing, thats why I am gonna drop my playstyle. It was too gimmicky anyway.
mAc Chaos Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Tokido played Bang in CT too if I'm not remembering wrong. He just won by outplaying everyone. I don't think Bang could carry you that far otherwise if you just literally picked up the game yesterday...
Lord Knight Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 Tokido played Arakune. He won a big Arcsys sponsored tournament in CT under the name "dark13".
PSOInvictus Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 That's SSF4. And Jwong is far from a tierwhore. He stuck with Rufus in Vanilla and Super, even though he wasn't even top 10 in Super. Dont forget the other games he plays.Tier whore
Lord Knight Posted January 31, 2011 Author Posted January 31, 2011 @ LK: I just felt like something is missing, thats why I am gonna drop my playstyle. It was too gimmicky anyway. Impossible. Supplement and update what you have now.
A.X.I.S. Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Impossible. Supplement and update what you have now. But I have all these gimmicks and my play isn't solid enough to hold my ground with you, I win against you because I am good at doing the random.
Commanderoftroy Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Haha so axis we are both thinking about revising our style still huh?
Rhiya Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 (edited) But I have all these gimmicks and my play isn't solid enough to hold my ground with you, I win against you because I am good at doing the random. Are your gimmicks /really/ gimmicks? A gimmick is, plain and simple, a situation that is A) Intended to wtf the other player into submission B) has the same answer every time Magna-Tech RC 360 is a gimmick. TSUBAKI INSTALL into 22D unblockable reset would be a ridiculously gimmicky gimmick (fuck, 22D unblockable is a gimmick). C-Akiha 2BBB (SO AWFULLLLLLLLLLLLLLL) is a gimmick. You get the idea. Being random isn't a gimmick. Being truly random is just playing awfully. What you do should have reasons. Edited January 31, 2011 by Dusk Thanatos
huey253 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 being random is actually really high level play. kinda ironic you thought otherwise
A.X.I.S. Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 Gadget RC stuff...nuff said. I used my heat for RC stuff instead of 720s.
huey253 Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 also, there is nothing wrong with that... its not like you can combo into your 720s... (oh wait) use that tager rc crossunder trick
Commanderoftroy Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I probably use heat more often for RCs than 720s since training a good player to fall for a RC mix up is usually more practical than an unreliable 720 set up. If your instant blocking in most cases you'll get 100 heat during the course of the fight anyway.
Commanderoftroy Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I think its still relatively easy to do on netplay but understandable, with that said though im probably the most patient tager around comparable to coopa's style of play so you and i have always played vastly different from each other. I personally think RC set/mix ups are just as viable if not more so than the gimmicks often needed to produce a good 720 set up.
A.X.I.S. Posted January 31, 2011 Posted January 31, 2011 I like doing RC tricks but I just feel that I could do so much more with what I do.
