As most of you already know, the Evolution Fighting Game Championships has been the grand-daddy of them all for the American fighting game tournament scene for the past decade, and this year's is no exception. Taking place at the Rio in Las Vegas, Evolution 2011 will be happening on July 29-31, and the main lineup of tournament games will be Super Street Fighter 4: Arcade Edition, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, Tekken 6, Mortal Kombat 9, and BlazBlue:Continuum Shift 2. Last year Evo was at Caesar's Palace, which was right on the strip, so it was a little bit pricey compared to previous Evo standards. Since it's now back at the Rio I assume prices will be cheaper like last time with the Evo rate (iirc it was something like $70 a day for Monday-Thursday, $120 Friday-Sunday or some shit like that for a 2-bed room). Or you can stay at the casino across the street from the Rio for slightly cheaper (iirc it was the Gold Nugget), though I personally suggest you stay at the Rio but that's just me.
St1ckBuG Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 While it's still early in the year and we have obvious existing version differences with two games on the list (Super Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition and BlazBlue:Continuum Shift 2), there's a chance that those games will replace the outdated version in the lineup IF the DLC/addition is released at a reasonable time before Evolution. What's considered a reasonable time? Would the EVO staff ask us on our opinion before making any final decisions on which version to play? Either way I'm pretty psyched. Can't wait to see all the WC people again. Should we start a thread making a list of names of who is going (or just do that in this one)?

Mr. Wizard gave console SSF4AE a deadline of June 1 or else they'll stick to regular SSF4, so it's safe to assume that the June 1 date will apply to console BBCS2 as well.

Don't want to lose because of a single round of random bullshit. Also shorter rounds so you can witness ec's incredible ability to play lame that wc is so weak at.
