I'm pretty sure it was mentioned earlier in the year that Wagner probably won't make it in because they can't fit him into the current story so it's safe to assume that story plays a factor about who can get in and who can't currently.

More importantly, creating a new character from scratch requires a lot more time than copy pasting and adapting an existing character and this is time French Bread doesn't necessarily have since they're working on the Dengeki game

Also, this is mostly just French Bread doing something nice for other developers. Akatsuki(sp?) was to promote a HD re-release of the old game and the SG character is going to be to celebrate Skullgirls' release in arcades.

Nah, it wasn't an HD rerelease, it's just the regular game in downloadable format.

Wow, that's just...wow. I mean, I heard that they wanted to add in a Skullgirls character and I had my suspicions on it being Fillia but had no clue on how she'd even look. At the least, I kinda like the change. Sure, I like her original look fine since that's Skullgirl's art-style, but this is good too in a different way.

Lol, coming here to find people complaining instead of being hype of the news...

DL becoming worse than SRK every day, keep it up folks :tup:

man when sg came out I was like "fillia is super cool! too bad they had to put her in this game"

it was kind of like virginia in mkv, though maybe not to the same degree

now she's in a game that at least has a chance

I am satisfied

I was just browsing the web and saw Filia as a guest character in UNiB and had to come here ask. Glad to see you guys on top of it. This game is going to have a strong roster by release...if it's ever released. ;_;

The cold hard truth makes me want to go and cry again.

Might as well brainstorm on the next guest character if we're waiting this long.

I'm pretty hype about it but I would be even more hype about some console release for this game

Still awaiting that Squigly update for consoles! :D

Wait, I just see an illustration, no actual mention of guest appearance, am I missing something...? :psyduck:

Nothing 100% confirmed yet. This all basically started a few months ago, around the time that Exe:Late released in arcades, when French Bread mentioned they would like to add an SG character to the game to promote the arcade release of SG. A lot of people are speculating that it is indeed going to happen and this picture added to the Art Gallery of the PC version of SG is just latest in the line of things to speculate about.

Well I know of the hinting, but just saying guys, don't assume, it makes an ass out of you and me ; -;

All I see is Japan being Japan atm

Don't really see how this makes an ass out of anyone honestly. No one's going around telling people that there's going to be an SG guest character. People are just speaking their opinion and in some people's opinions, they consider it already a given that it's going to happen and so they talk in that manner without even realizing it. Happens all the time. It's not an issue unless for some reason, people take the tone of someone's opinion as some form of confirmation instead of an actual statement. Then again, even if someone did make an actual statement saying so, people should already know better than to simply believe it without a source leading back to the developer.

Dude calm down...

That's a joke based off the spelling of "assume" ASS-U-ME.

And I had to keep back tracking because everyone's statements made it sound like it was a firm confirmation rather than their "opinions" which is why I was asking if I was missing something.

Actually, this is a good point. Just because we saw an image of Fillia doesn't mean French Bread will 100% will include her (though, I still like how they made her fit into UNiB's art-style). That and I keep hearing various rumors claiming that even with the EXE:Late and Akatsuki in tow, UNiB is dropping in popularity at the arcades. I don't see how yet since match videos aren't becoming increasingly harder to find but there's also that to keep in mind.

At this point, the question is how many new players have come to UNiB and stayed with the game? And how many more they are attracting to the game?

That will ultimately prove the game's health... for I remember a time when the Thrid Strike scene in my area got stagnate. The same players, day in and day out, playing the game for years... they still play, there have been the only ones still playing.

My guess is that UNIB has to deal with stuff like the initial stigma of being pseudo kusoge, it has to compete not with one but 2 ASW games who happen to be really popular (3 if you count GGXXAC+R), 1 that is getting a revision and the impending release of GGXrd who is getting alot of attention.

Also add that is on Sega's Ringedge 2, which from what i understand is not as widespread as Nesica.

Ouch. That sounds incredibly...sad. Not the people continuing to play their game despite no new players picking it up (seriously, props for the dedication), but playing the same people for years without any new blood emerging just sounds depressing.

UNiB just isn't going to live the initial release of multiple chain-shifts or loops-o-defeat down is it? But yeah, it makes sense considering competition in fighting games is pretty serious business in Japan as players can only afford to spend so much of their time on a particular game. That and ASW is definitely drawing the attention of their fans in the FGC. I barely even hear anything about the newest revision of SF4 or anything SNK-related these days.

That is kind of what happens when players get 1 year+ of experience with one game. Even if there are new players that want to get into the game they just get SMASHED by players that are at a high level. It can be really discouraging getting into games that people are already experienced in and it just makes the learning curve (which is already huge in fighting games) even longer.

Gordeau combo video! At last!! http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm22183465

Interesting thing to note that if the last hit of 22C doesn't hit, the opponent will be locked in hitstun. Also, 22B also allows for OTG afterwards too!

aaaaand Slide loop confirmed to still exist! :V
