Guardian Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Carmine's regular grab and super command grab give him health back iirc. I do like the fact that people have figured out Merkava. Now if they'd just figure out Sion and Hilda, we'll be set. I'm also shocked at the recent lack of Hyde and Seth; both of them seem too good to pass up. Maybe they're aren't many strong seth/hyde players around? I'd think Seth is one of the only characters that stands a chance vs Yuzu anyway. #brokebustedbitch
WillWork4Instal Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 (edited) By the way, if this game does get console ports, would the dustloop gods let this game have it's own section? Or because it's not an Arc Sys game it won't be segregated? And Elice Wagner forever. <3 Forgotten EDIT: Is that Merkava or something else? shtkn Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 this game is more like melty bread's jurisdiction isn't it?
Surf Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 Forgotten EDIT: Is that Merkava or something else? No. Seems like a creature that Caius commands. It may just be a Void he has under his control.
Skye Posted January 31, 2013 Posted January 31, 2013 this game is more like melty bread's jurisdiction isn't it? If the game gets enough attention, could it get like it's own sub-section, like HnK?
caiooa Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 http://inbirth.info/topic0086.html looks like the winners of the 1st qualifying for hydra gp helded at 27 of last month was a team of Yuzu, a Hyde and a Orie. Next one will be 8 of this month (http://hydragp.info/overtheworld/)
Hecatom Posted February 1, 2013 Author Posted February 1, 2013 this game is more like melty bread's jurisdiction isn't it? The same could be say of Vampire Saviour and SRK, and yet we have a section here on DL, just saying
shtkn Posted February 1, 2013 Posted February 1, 2013 i'm not interested in adding a unib seciton, sorry. maybe if melty bread abandons covering the game... (which seems unlikely)
F. Wily Posted February 2, 2013 Posted February 2, 2013 The same could be say of Vampire Saviour and SRK, and yet we have a section here on DL, just saying If and when then game is released in a more consumable format, we should return to this question... for now, I don't see the point in considering it.
Hecatom Posted February 3, 2013 Author Posted February 3, 2013 If and when then game is released in a more consumable format, we should return to this question... for now, I don't see the point in considering it. No shit Sherlock...
Koopa_Klawz Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 I'll bet the Merkava player that shows up on Acho was thinking, "Fuck no! I ain't dealing with this!"

Hecatom Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 It is interesting (and sad) to see how this game has become stale in so short amount of time. I really hope that they manage to improve the game with the patch/revision that they are working on.
Surf Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 There are combunation of things that make the game really stale imo. But the main offender in my eyes is the combo system. I think its safe to say a lot of us are tired of seeing half health combos into veil off into supers into infinite worth. Then for it to happen again a couple seconds later. The combos are extremely long and we're just sitting there watching the same routes over and ovet again. The game needs something to add to the excitement. Maybe a Burst system. I never get the feel of OH DAMN HES ABOUT TO RUN IT BACK from this game. Yea it happens occasionally but its not really hype. Doesnt help that we see the same half of the cast literally all the time. The game just lacks depth
AMB Bakery Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 The game doesn't lack depth, it's just that you never get to see any of it. The problem of long combos could be solved by changing the way floating/hitstun works, i.e., just increase the rate at which it decays. It doesn't help that you see almost every histop effect for half a second and on top of that you can link so many moves in a combo that you can build meter for a super. Almost everything else about the game is fine. Except for Yuzu who can end her combos that lead into safe, unseeable, 50-50 high-lows on wake-up.
Putin Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yeah the combo system seems like the game's main problem. You get full combos off every random hitconfirm, and the system just doesn't have enough limitations. For starters they should make clear which starters are good and which are bad, by keeping -almost- the same combo routes off good ones and limit both the options and obviously the damage off the worse ones. Maybe they could limit it even more by making further use of CH starters and crouching hitconfirms, so that you need one of those or both at the same time to get real good damage. They could also just increase the knockback of some moves so that you won't be able to follow them up unless you're in the corner or it's a CH or something. Chain Shift obviously needs extra nerfs as well, since not only the combos using it become too long and damaging, but it also feels like it makes meter a really expendable resource; to the point that people don't even care about throwing it away, and all that in a game that meter doesn't reset at every new round. I also like the idea of a runback factor and a burst would really improve the game as it is, but if they fix the aforementioned problems there might not be a need to implement such a completely new mechanic.
Surf Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 Yes the major problem is the combo system. That's why I hoping with this supposed version up, they fix things like that. And go through the character balance. Because quite frankly, a lot of what these characters do doesn't make much sense as to why they have that And yea if they fix the overall game I don't think the burst system would be that effective either. Other games are fine without one, was just a suggestion
Hecatom Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 (edited) snip While i agree that the combo system needs an overhaul, i think that you are making the mistake of seeing the problems as an spectator (comprehensible since is the only thing that we can do righ now :/ ). There are games that are boring to watch but are fun to play despite of that (HNK when anyone lands an infinite for example) My concerns are primarily about how the game has been getting less play because it grown stale due how the mechanics work on it, not because it is boring to watch (which it is, specially when we see the same damn chars over and over, there is no way to deny that). And go through the character balance. Because quite frankly, a lot of what these characters do doesn't make much sense as to why they have that The balance would change once they overhaul the combo system, right now many balance problems com directly of how the chars abuse the mechanics Edited February 7, 2013 by Hecatom
Surf Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 While i agree that the combo system needs an overhaul, i think that you are making the mistake of seeing the problems as an spectator Yea the games probably a blast to play, just boring as hell to watch The balance would change once they overhaul the combo system, right now many balance problems com directly of how the chars abuse the mechanics The mechaincs are pretty creative but their poorly executed and can be easily abused like you've said. Hopefully they take note of these things
Hecatom Posted February 7, 2013 Author Posted February 7, 2013 Yea the games probably a blast to play, just boring as hell to watch Actually my concern is that going by what i have read from people on japan, and the lack of gameplay posted on nico and youtube it seems that the game is not a blast to play compared to the other current options :/
Surf Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 It was at least being played a decent amount until CP came out. Then it fell off completely
Tigre Posted February 7, 2013 Posted February 7, 2013 From what I've been told, the games loss of players is a product of what you see on the screen in these matches, not BBCP. It's the first revision of a Frenchbread game, maybe i'll be good after a few more. (Look at original melty :V)
