Blazblue CSE : singles, Double Elimination, 2/3 matches, 1$ entry, winner takes all!

GGXXAC+ : 2v2 teams, single elimination, pokemon style, free entry, prize for the winners! (teams are not random)

...maybe something else if we have time, depending on attendance.

We'll start with blazblue and follow with guilty gear. Let us know if you'll be late, as we want to start at 6pm sharp.

The idea is that since there are a lot of people in our scene but everyone has a different schedule and other things to do, it would be nice if once a month everyone could commit to one evening of competition. Anyways, spread the word. This first one is mostly a test to see how much people show up, and to better organize the following ones, in preparation for BBCP (and maybe +R but it could be years). The next one will most likely be in September, so I hope to see you all this Sunday!

Whatever, sounds like Ottawa's interested in sending two teams. If we get there early, will there be people around for casuals? Money needed to park? Think we'd all be popping our Foonzo cherries with this one, so tell us what we need to know.

Say Team A has players A1 and A2, while team B has players B1 and B2. Pokémon style is where A1 and B1 play, and say B1 wins he stays on and plays A2 immediately to determine if team B wins or needs to send out B2 and THEN determine the final winner. Think stuff like the format they use in most 3v3s like Mikado do. This is opposed to waseda style (?) where A1 plays B1, A2 plays B2, and then there may be a need for a third match. Using Pokémon style in a 2v2 is, uh, kinda unnecessary as I see it, but I guess it helps keeping down the need for button checks?

On sundays Foonzo opens at 4PM, and if anything I try and be there around that time, as some other people do too. I mean usually people come by a little later but this time there's an event so I guess they'll come sonner. As for parking, you can usually find some spots in the streets around Foonzo, or directly on Foonzo's street most of the time. You DO need to pay for that at certain terminals you can fing along the streets, but only until 6PM, so I think it's like 5~6$ for the 4PM to 6PM stretch? Just be wary about the fact that Montreal is One Way Streets City Incarnate. As a person who hates driving in MTL myself, a GPS is recommended for city driving too.

In Foonzo itself, well, make sure you eventually order something from the menu so you don't be an ass, and please tip the waiter. Say hi to the turtles. Anything I missed?

edit: wow it's like I'm actually an important community person, but the real thing is most people were at Foonzo tonight so they couldn't answer. Living so far away... is it a curse, or a blessing?? It is a mystery.

You don't know me very well then Brice. I was up at 4 am screaming with my arms reaching into the sky.

The main reason why GG is teams & pokemon style is because it goes very fast. We haven't run monthlies in so long, I have no idea how much people will show up, and since people may have work on Monday, I don't want to finish too late. I also really want to run a double elimination Blazblue singles tournament, and that game takes forever (there will most likely be a gg casuals station during the bb tournament, in addition to the cabs). If it does however finish super early, might switch it to double elimination, but we'll see.

I also prefer teams to singles for a lot of other reasons, I really hope this won't stop anyone from coming though. If you don't have a partner just show up and team up with someone else who doesn't have one (worst case, I'm not teaming up til everyone else has a teammate). Keep in mind, this is kind of a test in the sense that we'll take feedback and hopefully make the next one better. In a way, this may be our farewell Accent Core tournament, so assuming next month we have +R, it'll most likely be the game we run first.

Way more hype for this now!

I'mmmmmmm back from my week in the woods.

The Feline Iron Nurse will be at Foonzo this Sunday. [Not taking part in the "tournament"]

Besides of the bad news that my mother was diagnosed with blood cancer.

It was a very relaxing 5 days.

Played a couple of games, found some bugs & glitches in them and I'm buying 2 of the games I've played.

Started with Injustice, tried Raven for a couple hours. Found out 40 ~ 50% damage combos on my own.

The game is fun and I should be getting it sooner or later.

Then I played Anarchy Reigns. [Dat Mathilda <3]

I played the story from start to end.

Besides that I find it lazy that I have to go through each level twice, the game is sooooooo fun.

The only bug I found, is that when you fight the Kraken, you have to jump on air vents to blow you to an other platform.

I was stuck in the air for a couple minutes until I finally got unstuck and reached the platform.

Getting the game for the multiplayer.

Since the game is bonkers.

The I played Far Cry 3.

The game is really creative and interesting to play.

Besides the grinding for stuff, the game is fun.

But since it's made by "Ubisoft", I found plenty of bugs and glitchs as per usual. Also used some exploits I've randomly found.

1 : NPC's going through physical items.

2 : Car's registering that they should shut down if they go into deep water even if the car is back on land after going over the deep water.

3 : Enemies knowing where the player is after killing an enemy in a camp when the player is in foliage, from really far away, with a sniper rifle, with a silencer.

4 : Doing the assassination missions by just not giving a fuck and running in killing the target and having the opportunity to quick travel out of danger.

5 : While doing the rare hunting missions, having the animals not attack the player just because he's on a rock of any height.

6 : Doing a "take down" threw some objects and other enemies.

7 : Enemies in a camp, not sounding the alarm when attacked in a camp from far away.

8 : Fuck Sharks. I hate going into the water D:

I finally played the new DMC game.

Since I'm a DMC veteran, I impressed the whole family and friends by doing SSS combos and scores.

The game is WAY easier than DMC 1 to 4.

The only glitch that I found is that when you are at the first boss, if you parry the knife in the air, the monster will stay still and stop attacking.

Just have fun and hack & slash him to get an SSS score.

Came back home with no internet. But I got a technician to come to my house in less than 2 hours [wtf that's rare] to fix the problem by changing the router for a modern one.
