The kitty mod for TE-S is available now, so I'm finally going to mod my stick. To get a Kitty board, Pedro, PM Toodles on SRK directly, tell him what stick you have and give him your address. He will tell you how much money to paypal to him and will send you the right stuff. Be sure to tell him you have the TE-S style stick and that you will also need a Neutrik RJ45 jack AND that you live in Canada. It will probably be 49$ for the Kitty, 9$ for shipping and another 9$ for the Neutrick IF he keeps them in stock. You might be forced to get the Neutrick from somewhere else. You can't get the Kitty board anywhere except directly from him because he hasnt passed them to vendors yet. Also, Steb, if you read this and need help rebuilding a stick with your case, let me know. It's all Sanwa parts, so unless you want to esthetically change it, or something is broken, there is nothing for you to do ! The joystick and buttons on a TE are perfect as is functionally. You could change the spring of the joystick if you wanted it to be stiffer, but that would make you uneasy everytime you used someone elses stick when you got used to it. For the mod all you need is the board from Toodles and a Neutrick jack to fit on your Select (Back) Button. Everything else you might need will be included. The Neutrick jack comes with 2 screws necessary to use it and the Kitty Board comes with ribbon cables to hook it up !
pochp Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 My joystick feels used (well because it's been used a lot, by a lot of people), but now that I think about it, I'm pretty used to it, so I'm not that much in a hurry to change or fix it. I was also thinking about getting a plexi and artwork, like buying a TE Full Panel Cover and print from Art's Hobbies. Is there anything I should know about this? Going to make the artwork myself, I'm not an artist at all, just going to play around with sprites a bit.
kaeru Posted June 13, 2011 Posted June 13, 2011 (edited) Most important stuff for you to know: First, don't start without the right template, reformatting artwork is painful and time consuming. So, get the right template from his website for the setup you want. Second, don't get confused with Plexi panel replacements, those do not involve artwork, what you want is a full/extended or normal plexi cover. Third, get the HIGHEST resolution possible. A full plexi is HUGE, it's very difficult to get art that looks good at that size with sprites and internet pics. One solution is to go for the normal plexi that allows you to keep the bezel, this is a bit smaller and more comfortable to use and the bezel is often a beautiful frame for most artworks. But even the normal plexi is very big and getting the highest resolution you possibly can is crucial. Ideally when you paste pictures into his template, you do not want to have to blow them up (though sometimes we don't have a choice). Everything else along the way i can talk to you about when we see each other at meetups. If your joystick feels used, the best bet is to change the spring, but i dont think your spring is overused yet. If your buttons do not feel right, i have alot of spare microswitches from Sanwa. I can sell you some of them, itll be cheaper to just change the switches than replacing with new buttons. But if you're getting artwork done, you will probably want to change your buttons to match the artwork, so this is something you should hold off on until you know what color scheme you're going for. hope that helps ! I've seen some nice stuff with comic book dots and halftone patterns, i'm sure something cool with pixels can be done !

I don't think there's a problem with having people at my place as long as it's not every week, it is kinda far for most though =/ Maybe we could just bring consoles to Foonzo regularly...

We can bring set ups there, we just can't be as niggerish as we are at HQ. But we'll be exposed to more people, which can be good for the community.

I guess we just need to figure it out between them and MTLSF because I'm guessing they're probably going to have meetups there as well, wouldn't want to have the place too crowded (think Nemesis 2, lol). So I need some advice for my stick art. I can't decide which ones to go with. This was the first time I used photoshop, ever, so I think I did an excellent job worthy of a pro and I invested at least a good 30 seconds placing the art. Although the first one was a bit tricky, I'm not sure which position is optimal. Anyways, tell me what you guys think. Oh and, YARLY.
