Bibiquadium Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Anime games? Psh you fucking bunch of no life weeaboos. Btw we might run a BlazBlue 2v2 team tournament this Thursday for the interested ones. I'd rather spread the word now rather than going to Foonzo on Thursday just to 5 ppl playing kusoge games.
AirMaster Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 I can't be there on thursdays...fml. Also, probably won't be there this sunday sadly.

Hey, Bibi... Just shut up. Aquapazza's not kusoge games. And ok, 2v2. Don't mind this.
kirbster Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 You won't see me at Foonzo until at least Thursday of next week. Last pushhhhhhhhhhhh

So no EXVS at T13 Dream forever dead, etc.
Sophisticat Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Lube D: I presume you speak from experience!

DerQ Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 Yo guys, I'm interested in going to major events and all, but I'm so unfamiliar to it that I'd feel more comfortable easing myself in. So you guys are all hype about NEC, I would be too, but it seems like it's a rush ATM as Brice said. Here come the unfamiliarity problem, what commitment is needed in terms of money, preparations and everything you'd consider useful for me to know. This would also help me in preparations for T13 that I plan on attending. Other than that, I have one last direct question regarding this. Since you need people to confirm ASAP, what's the deadline you'd give for confirming my presence.
Sophisticat Posted September 19, 2012 Posted September 19, 2012 ^ I think you need about $200-300. Been a while since I've gone tourney-ing, so this number might be off. You'll need your passport too, of course. Aside from that, a fresh set of clothes for the weekend (+deodorant!), a willingness to withstand sleeping with 4-6 other dudes in the same room (yes homo), and plenty of hype is all you need.

AirMaster Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 When will our dream ever become a reality! Maybe NEC! Although, if there's a Smash Up 3, I'll try to be there. We'll have to go to Gety and play some OMNI vs ZAFT 2.
magus704 Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 I'm not going to NEC Don't have the money for it.
kaeru Posted September 20, 2012 Posted September 20, 2012 2 of you who went to summer jam not going to NEC?! Then why didnt you skip summer jam instead?!!>?!EAOJFGH#QY%RT
Sophisticat Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Just saw a match vid with +R Johnny. Calling it now: Rhannmah for MTL top tier!
pochp Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 aight so since we can't run weekly/biweekly tournaments any more because we can't put enough time into it, I was thinking we should change the formula and run monthly events, kinda like the TSB ones, where we play all our games (bb gg p4u, maybe ap mb...). It would probably be either a friday or a saturday if it works, it would be free entry fee and we'd run teams/single elim as much as possible, so we have time to fit everything. Thoughts?
DerQ Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 (edited) At post above ^ Not a bad idea, but I was thinking of maybe bringing them back. I wouldn't mind trying my shot at organizing little tournaments. Few problems are, I tend to leave the place early and I wouldn't have the equipment to help me run the tourney. That means, napkin brackets and no stream (at least for now). It may or may not be ranbats, but I know I can afford to at least make some sort of bi-weekly event of some sort. Mind you, I don't know how commited I'd be with this, but just throwing the idea out there that I have time and wish to bring my contribution for the community. Edited September 21, 2012 by DerQ
Dai_Loli Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 I'm working 40 hours a week, so my schedule hasn't changed since school restarted. Once a month seems way too low, though, how about biweekly? Also if it'll be on Fridays and Saturdays, my attendance would likely dramatically drop.
kaeru Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 i am for doing it once a month. It will be more hype and more people will make it out since they are fewer and further between. People will take it more seriously and play harder too. It is less work less often to organize, just seems to be all around good this way. Since all games will be represented no one can feel too alienated. (i'm also not completely adverse to doing half our games one week 2 of a month and the other half on week 4 of a month to accomodate our low number of setups)
AirMaster Posted September 21, 2012 Posted September 21, 2012 Saturdays are usually packed at Foonzo though. One of our regular days would be better.
