2 of you who went to summer jam not going to NEC?! Then why didnt you skip summer jam instead?!!>?!EAOJFGH#QY%RT

Even if I decided to forgo SJ NEC would still be too expensive as most of the money I make in November/December goes towards Christmas presents.

You make it sound like money is some intangible fleeting thing and cannot be put in one's pocket for later ! It's NEC D:!!

Just saw a match vid with +R Johnny.

Calling it now: Rhannmah for MTL top tier!

and we haven't even seen any footage of I-No yet; i predict she's going to be even more retarded good

A.B.A is all that matters.

And as for ranbats, it's impossible for us to accommodate everyone so we'll go with the majority, but me during the week or whenever I have class the next morning I can't be present and/or organize/stream the event so Friday or Saturday are my only option. Friday being the MTLSF day it would be far too overcrowded so this leaves me with Saturday as a proposition.

I agree that if we do this on Saturday nights, it'll be retarded, especially if we aim to have multiple setups to ourselves and make this our big gathering. Since it's on a week-end, it might as well be in the afternoon, this way the ranbats can happen and we can sort of reserve our spots for the evening for those who stay.

blade, I made a post in an attempt to get more people to come to meetups, and you dodge it completely. two birds one post.

anyways, it would be worth discussing with Jin and Pierre, but I think we'd be able to get at least one weekend evening a month. How about this : we keep our current meetup schedule, and add a weekly/biweekly tournament organized by derq or anyone else, and a monthly all game event on a weekend day, which is on a different week than the p4 biweekly and anything mtlsf is organizing that I'll take care of. stream will be whenever bibi feels like it.

if anyone's interested here's pretty much how i "ran" the weeklies : you only really need to be there at start, when it gets to the finals, people can figure out who they have to play. do facebook events, post on dustloop and mayonaka, answer people's questions, get everything started, assign someone to run brackets, there should be someone with a laptop, do it on challonge. worst case scenario if there isn't a laptop do a single elim bracket it's easy to do on paper. btw teams are more hype than singles.

our main meetup day would still be thursday, the monthly event would just be so that everyone who can't come often has maybe something extra to motivate them to come out. (that and I'm just looking for a way to start running ap, gg and bb tournaments. melty if possible :D) and of course we'd start as early as possible.

Just a quick humongous thank you to Kaeru for coming over and working on my stick and playing Gundam. The game seems pretty nice for casual play IMO, I look forward to playing it some more with both you and Airmaster sometime. Next time we meet, I need to pay you [at least] a beer : D

I think top 8 was this, 15 entrants total. someone correct me if I'm wrong

Well Pedro, Pierre was using printed brackets at the tournament saturday and he told me where to get them, this will simply fix all my issues I had with running weeklies. I wasn't sure on how to assemble brackets, now it is fairly easy if you just print them upperhand. I mean, a 16 man bracket can be made in 5-10 minutes.

So, I will most likely just run a tentative weekly/bi-weekly thing like 1 game this week, the other one next week. I still like the idea of the monthly event, but even very simple weekly events should get people more hungry than casuals for a whole evening. At least I want to satisfy my recent hunger with upcoming events such as T13 and NEC. It'll be simple though, no stream, no falshy stuff, just an ordinary bracket being run for fun and variety.

I don't know if I'll start this week, but I'll see to that before thursday. Oh and don't be surprised if the first game I run for these is P4A because it will be. :ballMT::ballNA:

EDIT: Little detail to be added, I'm even down to run KOF events since people have caught interest back in that game enough to form a very small community.

About running brackets, I usually use tio tournament organizer.

About KOF, I'd be down for it srsly. But only like...3 people here play it lol. Been trying to get something going weekly, but it hasn't really worked so far.

I talked to Nini saturday, he'd be down to learn/play it saying it was the most legit shit out there. Hatman would be down to play, I'd do it, you and I've seen twice in the last week the same two players taking a cab just for KOF13.

It's no major community, but heck we can get something going if we push it

EDIT TO AVOID DOUBLE POST: I was about to buy myself a Kitty board dual mod for sticks as recommended by Kaeru. Problem is that the stocks at what I think is the official site (godlikecontrols) are depleted. Does anybody have any alternative for dual mods?

I'd love to come over some time, but I actually started a new job a month ago and I'm in way over my head atm, lol.

It'll ease up a lot by end of Oct., so I'll likely make an appearance 'round then at Foonzo and we'll get in some KOF. :kitty:

great! looking forward to this. rotating p4u bb gg? maybe we could do kof same night as gg, since they'll both be kinda small for now. for a monthly/bi-monthly event, I'm still down for organizing it, we'd just need to talk to jin first. I'll probably join in kof for fun.

Shietttt Pedro top player

you can watch me and level5 dp each other and be free to kazu's mitsuru in the archive http://www.twitch.tv/mtlsf/b/333114336

Of course, it would only feel natural for me to promote and support the games I play, but the importance I'll accord to every game will most likely go as follows :

1. P4A, My game. Nuff said.

2. BB, The game I feel is mostly played and heck I could always join in on the fun with deprecated BB:CT online warrior tactics

3. GG and KOF, like you mention GG feels pretty small and KOF as yet to actually kick off. Though they're both games I'd love to at least understand and learn enough stuff to hold some ground in casual play

With that being said, I'll be at Foonzo thursday this week most likely before 8 and will run the first event and see how it goes. Tentative run of the whole thing. Though since a lot of the players have been busy, I'm expecting 8 man or 16 man bracket. I'll let my lunch break tomorrow sort out all the details and shenanigans like facebook events and what not.

Also, for those going to T13, if you havn't looked for an hotel yet, me and kr3w just lightly looked at what was offered and for what price. There's the obvious choice of the hotel right next to the venue (hilton), but besides the 5 minutes walk, the price goes up to 200 the night. If we have to split into 2 rooms, it'll be pretty ridiculous. We checked for alternatives at say 100~150 for the night and they all seemed to be at a 20 minutes drive from the venue. Kr3w told me there's apparently public parking right in front of the venue for something like 20$/day. Just juggling options here

Last but not least, I might (MIGHT) get my parent's car for the NEC weekend. I can't confirm ATM and they'd be super generous, but it might just happen.

Just wait. He's fixing the board with an update.

Also it pains me to have to say this but i must pass on T13.
