Bibiquadium Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 He did the same when I tried to show him the BB basics.
InWithTheAshes Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Who is this "he" you speak of, I would like to give him a fine scolding and maybe a few work arounds of the cane. (Hi Canada).
oDHAOSo Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 "He" here, I don't mean to upset anyone here. I'll be the first to admit that 1. I'm bad and 2. I'm slow to adapt. I also love to a argue just for argument's sake. I've been screwing around with fighting games for a long time mostly just to get the supers to land in battle. 2 years ago I started playing with the Waterloo guys and got my rude awakening. Melty was their main game and they made everything look amazing and so that's the game I learned. Now that I'm here I've basically have to play another game but now I'm stuck with these shitty expectations of what I can do and what I can expect others to do. Chip death, push blocks, instant grabs, free bursts, free cancels, global anti airs are all things that I'm not used to and don't know how to deal with yet. It's not my intention to piss you guys off when I'm surprised by these mechanics every time you use them. Thanks for bearing with me so far and please argue more with me. Also GG looks like it's gonna be pretty awesome once I get used to the throws and really weak jump in stun. Haven't found the fun in BB yet though.
InWithTheAshes Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 (edited) Oh, well that was mostly pretty cool, so I guess I'll leave my mortar board holstered for now. Also, does nobody in Montreal play Melty? I mean, almost nobody in the U.K. plays it either, but we're even less populous within terms of anime players than the U.S.A./Canada. And the scene here seems relatively active. Edited May 18, 2013 by InWithTheAshes
oDHAOSo Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 Not really. It's kinda inaccessible. PC only, relatively long times to set up buttons, and lack of interest make it hard to play at foonzo. Not sure where else people meet up to play anime games in Montreal. I've got plans for a dedicated mbaacc PC or mbaa on ps3 in the works though.
oDHAOSo Posted May 17, 2013 Posted May 17, 2013 I'd also like to apologize at this point to anyone who's had the displeasure of playing a game with me that I don't really understand. I didn't realize that my whining got the better off your patience. I'll try to tone it down from here on out. For the record, I've had fun playing with all of you (but cut me some slack Ranma!). <\damageControl>

Glad that I vented here on dustloop as opposed to keeping it inside. It's there's a difference between a discussing game mechanics, nothing wrong with that, and downright bashing game mechanics before you even learn it. A lot of the mechanics you label as "free" are actually very costly and must be strategically used in a match in order to win. But you must first come to a game with an open mind about how things work, as you develop your skills you can learn to use the mechanics of effectively. In terms of the global tools, GG gives everyone universal tools to give everyone equal footing; universal AA's, knockdowns, and overheads but everyone also plays very unique. Which is what makes it fun, anyone can win against anyone so long as you know how to outplay your opponent. If you have a hard time learning something, then say so, everyone is more than willing to help including Rhannmah-ojisan . But don't attack the game because you haven't gotten used to it, learning a game is the best part of it. For me personally there's nothing I love more about fighting games than discovering something new about my character. Oh, well that was mostly pretty cool, so I guess I'll leave my mortar board holstered for now. Also, does nobody in Montreal play Melty? I mean, almost nobody in the U.K. plays it either, but were even less populous within terms of anime players than the U.S.A./Canada. And the scene here seems relatively active. pretty much this. We have like 4-5 people I think who plays MB. I'd also like to apologize at this point to anyone who's had the displeasure of playing a game with me that I don't really understand. I didn't realize that my whining got the better off your patience. I'll try to tone it down from here on out. AirMaster Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/news/2013-05-17/blazblue/calamity-trigger-fighting-game-gets-anime-green-lit Hype? I know I am. Anyway, calling Gundam meetup on Tuesday. Who can come?
BladeOfJustice7 Posted May 18, 2013 Author Posted May 18, 2013 ^That's a shocker, hope it's legit this time. I'd to see Hakumen beat the shit out of other niggas. I know in the Chimical Complex manga he was pretty rushdown oriented against Ragna.
samthegreat Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 "BlazBlue: Clone Phantasma, the lastest game in the series, was released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan in December 2012." lol Whatever the studio is they better animate Rachel good or I'll punch them in the face.
