That is the primary reason for me not going. I don't see the point of burning 5 bucks to get blown up mostly because I can't use my character.

You can't learn everything in training mode. Stay dodgy EB. This doesn't surprise me AT ALL by the way. This is coming from the guy who beat my Noel and said he was going home when I decided to play for realz, and LOITERED around HQ for 30 mins pretending to be looking for something.

I sort of agree with this, relearning combos and basic neutral game doesn't take that long, especially if you're already super familiar with the character.

Hell I learned Jam's basics in a few hours... watched a bunch of JP vids, practiced for a few hours and bam.

The thing with Haku is that he really did change a lot and old muscle memory stuff is hard to forget. I didn't have trouble with the new Renka input, but I still jump after Hotaru. He gained new gatlings, different bounce effects, etc. Tons of little things that take time to adjust to.

I can do most of his new combos without problem, it's making use of them that's proving hard and I keep reverting to old stuff on top of that. :<

Agreed, but you also have to reorient your play style, always keeping corner pushing in mind while playing. That and hit confirms off 4c was what I also had to work on. I find 214a is the best follow up from 4c, as I see from videos and personal experience. I never imagined he would change THIS much from cs1.

Lol @ Eb calling me dodgy. I'm not the type to not show up because I'm free, otherwise I would've stopped going to the HQ since after Day 1 I joined.

I should've been clearer, it's about money. I'm getting tight, that's my fault for being impulsive though. I wouldn't dodge a tournament just because I'd be free. In fact, I'd love to get my ass handed over. Every defeat is experience, it's a step forward to improvement. Doing my best to find a job, stopped by a Café because I saw my friend inside and I'm not even buying anything while leeching off their internet on my iPod. I'm confident that at some point I'm gonna find another proper job, soon enough. But for now, I have to watch that wallet.

Meetup was fun, played more arcana and melty than BB though. I even practiced marvel combos on a decent stick at some point. Slowly de-freeing, but my BB has gone bad, I have to relearn IB-DP, kept getting it wrong, maybe it's partly the IB nerf and frame data changes... I dunno I'm still kinda salty about it though.

Update for MAT8 : platinum is banned, we're running on PS3. I hope you're okay with this, Eb, we discussed it with those at the meetup and it seemed pretty unanimous.

@Ken: oh, good luck with the job hunting, hate that. You could probably check your municipality in case they have blue collar or white collar job offers, you never know. It pays really well and they don't ask for much usually.
